Just a teaser I posted for my patrons a while back:
Looks like a touch-based frostburn spell with a... I'm gonna guess lingering modifier.
So hexagon is the method of propagation, circle is the elemental base and squares are modifiers?
Just a teaser I posted for my patrons a while back:
While everyone is focused on the foreground, I can't help but notice what looks like pipe stuff in the back.
My, My. I wonder what you have got in store for us this time.
The Focal stuff look great too!
I always wondered. How such a great gui is made? This rusted thing looks very cool and fitting the climate of MC. Do you get some textures from internet, model it in blender, apply textures and lighting, render, then pixelate?
I concur, I also wonder this. Tell us Azanor, What arcane secrets do you hold?

This interface looks awesome but i cant help but notice that its far more dingy/rusty than the usual greatwood and polished brass styles used in your other UIs. Will this be a new theme in TC6?

We went from like medieval with mostly wood and some iron to steampunk with everything brass. Now we have scrappy zombocalypse?

Perhaps magic can have an oxidizing effect? large amounts of magic is commonly depicted as destructive after all, And creation is the ultimate form of destruction.

Hmm... But we know of Thaumium, Silverwood, treated glasses, tallow, brass...
I can't help but feel like rust is not really a theme that could be explained here. After all we would only use inferior materials if better materials are too difficult to get for what we would get out of it.
A focal manipulator of all of our instruments stands under the by far biggest stress from aura flowing through it and it is a fairly vital instrument. I don't see why we would build it out of something so easily corroded...
We have established that Iron is particularly bad at dealing with vis. It has trouble flowing through iron and the high loss of vis indicates that a considerable portion of the vis is getting stuck, uselessly fading or even worse causing damage to the material... this is assuming TC5 world image and probably going way overboard with the thinking, but eh...
There are a few cases in material studies, where one actually wants some level of corrosion, because certain oxides can protect whatever they are coating... however, rust is the single worst material in that category.

Well oxydises means to be afflicted by oxygen, so what would we call a magical corosion?
Suggestions: vitified, mana blasted, luminiferoded, fluxed, leyteriorated, magitated, essentangled, enchrusted
Fluxed is already used by CoFH mods for crafting materials that have been crafted by submerging a metal in molten Redstone.
Magitated sounds pretty dope to me though. (Let's never use the word dope again, though).
Dope.

Robijnvogel at least was being responsible about it... majestyc2k1, why must people like you be so immature? Especially talking about drugs, having "bath salts" in Thaumcraft is too much of a reference already without people using this stuff as jokes on the forum page. Don't you know there are kids who play Minecraft? >_<

I hope someday there's more magic in Minecraft, though I know it's not likely to happen. In the meantime, I play modded a lot. I enjoy a lot of other games too, so don't expect me to be on the forums all the time.

I believe there's been an misunderstanding. majestyc2k1 merely repeated the word as a jest-full response to Robijnvogel comment on never using the word "dope" again. Furthermore, I doubt anyone used the word as an intentional reference to drugs, But rather for its meaning as something which is good.
Myself, I was not even aware it had any connections, Nor anything to do with drugs. It was just a word meaning: Good sh*t/Stuff.

Must've changed meaning since I last heard it then, words do that sometimes... Apologies, today isn't my best day on the forums it seems, I already had a misunderstanding over on the Betweenlands thread and now this...

Yay, the tc4 thaumometer model is back!

Is that a gauntlet made out of thaumium and greatwood?
I hope you're feeling better, sinus infections are never fun.

Dude. Sh ... um .. excrement happens. (Especially if you have MFR installed.) Worry about getting well first, OK?

Technically it is just a reworked version of the old Focal Manipulator GUI.

I made a D flip-flop!
Ahh, I thought it looked familiar... so how does the new focus system work? Or is it a secret
In the OP, @Azanor specifically credits http://opengameart.org/ amongst others.

I do like the new focal manipulator texture. I wonder how the focal manipulator and other such devices will work with untyped aura and such. Essentia?
Lyrium doped iron?
