question about aspect ideas. since forbidden magic adds an aspect for the neather (magic/fire) what would an aspect for the aether be? or for the end.
The End would probably (still) be Alienis, or perhaps Alienist+Vacuuos. For the Aether, perhaps Air/Iter. The problem is that adding separate aspects for each new dimension would quickly get out-of-hand and cluttered -- consider too the Twilight Forest, Erebus, Dimensional Doors' Limbo, the several Galacticraft planets, let alone Mystcraft.
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Hmm, I've got another golem duplicating itself. The thing is, this one is indeed near a chunk boundary, but the chunks on both sides are chunkloaded. (Also, I think it's duping on load.)

I still cannot find thaumcraft 4 on 1.7.10 the version I have is far too confusing and the tutorial I'm watching is TC 4. I know how to do the research on the version I have but It is confusing And unnecessarily hard. People have told me about TC 4 on different minecraft versions But all of the mods I have are 1.7.10

Just go to Page 1 of this thread - it's there. Click the link I've arrowed in pic below and it will give you TC version 4.2.3.5 for Minecraft 1.7.10.
EDIT: Regarding the research being confusing - I think having version 4.2.3.5 may cure this. I believe (but someone will correct me if I'm wrong) in earlier versions of TC 4 research looked like pic Research 1 - I totally don't get how that works.
In version 4.2.3.5 research looks like pic Research 2 - which I find easy to follow.
I hope this helps - it's frustrating when you get a bit stuck.

in the config you can change research to easy mod. making it so you don't have to do the little puzzels.
Something crashed in my server and i don't really know what it could be.
It's an stack overflow crash and thaumcraft is mentioned in the crash, so that's why i post it here.
I have read the Crimson Rites book. Now, when I approach the Cult they are doing a ritual and don't attack me. I'm not quite sure of how to proceed. Do I continue fighting them? Do I attempt to infiltrate them somehow to gain knowledge? I'm a bit confused. NB I haven't unlocked Eldritch tab yet so it's still early days for me. I'd appreciate a hint, a nudge in the right direction. Thanks.

Crimson cult hint:
The priests have been doing the ritual all the time, and they are still hostile.
And you can't trade or befriend them, if you hang around with them much time they will finally attack you. With fire. Loads of fire

Ahhhh. I'd not seen the ritual before - as soon as I got near they just went for me (yep, with great balls of fire!). Now, I can go right up to the orb to scan it, hang around harvesting stuff - they just ignore me. So, from what you say, it's fine to carry on fighting them YEY!
Yeah, an addon would be great. Anyone got a link to the Thaumcraft API and a tutorial on making addons? I'm thinking of teaming up with that person and coding an addon.
I don't have the level of Java expertise needed to code even the simplest of mods... however, I am currently taking programming courses at my school.
But, if someone would want to take on the actual coding... well, I have sooooo many ideas for mods...

Was the shovel change intended to be a nerf or why isn't the previous mode selectable using the G key? Is there anyone out there who thinks the current modes are usable at all?
Does anyone know if there's some other tool or mod out there that functions like it did in 4.1, ie surrounding the current block instead of placing on top of it?
Azanor said he was responding to user requests, presumably from those who were confused by the subtlety of the old way. I and others have complained vociferously about the change, but he says he's tired of messing with it. So I guess we lose the ability to extend walls and suchlike. :-(

Because of the vagueness of aspects, that suggested aspect sounded a lot like vacuos. The other ones seemed awfully niche. It'd be like saxum and granum again. Aspects with only 1-2 uses, if any.
If you were to make your own addon, you could easily add in new aspects for yourself without needing Azanor to add it into the base mod.
Here's a clarification between Spatium and Vacuos: Vacuos is an empty area, whereas Spatium is just... area. Space. Length, width, and height. The first half of space-time.
As for the others, Illusio could be used to make camouflage and fake objects, whereas Augmen would be useful in upscaling things, like jars or golems. Liquefaceio, however... I don't really know what it could be used for. I was just throwing out ideas anyway.

Aspects are intentionally vague to prevent having hundreds of them. Spatium is just too similar to vacuos imo.
Again, niche aspects for niche uses. In the case of camouflage blocks you could just say something along the lines of "By reflecting the light in the air..." and you can then use aer and lux instead of a new aspect.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
Just out of curiosity has anyone attempted to make a skyblock based around thaumcraft and its addons?
Also, can I request a creative research table? Assuming someone does attempt to make a thaumcraft based skyblock, it would come in handy for testing quest progression.
Does 4.2.3.5 require a newer version of Forge than 4.2.3.4? I'm getting a crash that says something about capes after updating from .4 to .5. Other mods:
Code Chicken Core 1.0.4.35
NEI 1.0.4.83
EnderStorage 1.4.5.27
Iron Chests 6.0.62.742
JourneyMap 5.0.1
Optifine HD U B5
Thaumcraft NEI Plugin 1.7
The instance is definitely 1.7.10, as it was working fine with Thamucraft 4.2.3.4. Forge version is 10.13.2.1291.
