That's what I was going to say too. There should be Gany's Surface compatibilty with all of its redstone variations (E.G. Greenstone, Limestone, Brownstone, etc).

There's actually some config settings which let you change the color, if that's of interest to you.

Is this an inactive mod or can I expect to see a 1.8 version of this? Only I reaaaaaaaalllly like this and think mojangshould implement this.
It's definitely not inactive, I was just giving Forge time to settle. This mod uses custom rendering and 1.8 removed much of that capability for a new static model system. Folks are supposedly at work to add something similar to what we used to have back in, though, so I'm hoping it won't be too painful to update.

They figured it out, but I can't remember which mod it was for the life of me. If that person or anyone else knows the mod(s), I'd appreciate letting me/us know. Otherwise, you'd have to post your mod list and we'll figure it out.
It would be a wonderful to have all of the redstone pastes in the 16 colors of redstone that Gany's Surface adds. I believe it would be a nice way to do the same thing that project red(red power) does, but a low tech version. Came up with the idea playing around with my modpack which is magic based and trying to stay away from most tech based mods.
EDIT: seems that my idea has already been proposed.

Well, the different colors in RP/PR were primarily to avoid connectivity between circuits, a problem that Redstone Paste avoids entirely by giving you full control over its placement without auto-connecting. The color of the paste has three separate values (modifiable in the config) to help with getting the proper blending ratio for powered/unpowered, so I don't know how well the current implementation would work for several other colors without manually trying to come up with good balances. And having paste be green even when it's active could be a bit unhelpful, as well!
That being said, it might be something to look into though, like for helping to identify different circuits in a complex system, or even decorative reasons.

Based on your log, it was some of the experimental stuff in BuildCraft that actually caused the crash. As for whether it could have had anything to do with Redstone Paste being present, I'd need to know more about what you were doing at the time.
i installed the mod like usual then went into my test world to try it out and as the level loaded up it crashed and gave me that report, i've since deleted that world and started a new one and so far so good. really don't know what went wrong. i must say though being able to put a slab over your paste is always something i've felt should have been in vanilla with the redstone
I'm using the Utopia3 modpack (from the AtLauncher) the RedstonePaste mod is part of it but I can't place more than 1 tiny piece of redstone paste, and only on 1 direction of the block (standard cobblestone for testing purpose at the moment) and can't make it go on the walls or ceilings at all, like if something was messing with the mod, any ideas what can mess with it, could it be Forge Multipart somehow.
I've finally managed to get this mod updated to Minecraft 1.8. This has very much been a "let's just make it work" update. I still want to take advantage of some of the features that 1.8 offers, but due to the complexity of the mod, and the significance of the changes required to update to 1.8, making sure it worked first was the top priority. There's still a good chance that there are bugs! I've tested a lot if it along the way, but there will obviously be situations I didn't account for, so if you run into any kind of strange issues, just let me know.
Slabs from other mods may cause issues. This aspect of the code had to be reworked a bit due to the way that models and block states work. I don't actually know of any mods for 1.8 yet which adds slabs, but if you try any, I'd be genuinely curious of your success at using them for slab covers.
Both this and Hopper Ducts are using a custom renderer to avoid Forge's current mess. I tested for interoperability and didn't notice any issues, though I will specifically be addressing them sharing the renderer in both mods in the future, to work in a better/cleaner fashion.

This definitely sounds like a mod interaction issue. I can't say if it's FMP particularly, since I've used it with that before, but I would have to look through that pack's mod list to know more.
Just to report back that it now seems to work flawlessly on my server, not sure what went wrong but I think it could be the fact that the redstone paste I got to test was obtained by NEI cheat menu, now that I've crafted it in my real game world, it works, I really wish it would support FMP blocks, this would make it for nifty hidden redstone circuits for lights and such.
Somebody got a crash on the MC1.8 version, so I uploaded a version to fix that. I couldn't actually recreate the crash, but I have in mind the potential internal Minecraft circumstances as to how it may have occurred, so I went through the code a bit and tried to make sure a similar thing wouldn't happen in other spots as well.

Curse PremiumWell, the different colors in RP/PR were primarily to avoid connectivity between circuits, a problem that Redstone Paste avoids entirely by giving you full control over its placement without auto-connecting. The color of the paste has three separate values (modifiable in the config) to help with getting the proper blending ratio for powered/unpowered, so I don't know how well the current implementation would work for several other colors without manually trying to come up with good balances. And having paste be green even when it's active could be a bit unhelpful, as well!
That being said, it might be something to look into though, like for helping to identify different circuits in a complex system, or even decorative reasons.

Based on your log, it was some of the experimental stuff in BuildCraft that actually caused the crash. As for whether it could have had anything to do with Redstone Paste being present, I'd need to know more about what you were doing at the time.

Curse PremiumSlabs from other mods may cause issues. This aspect of the code had to be reworked a bit due to the way that models and block states work. I don't actually know of any mods for 1.8 yet which adds slabs, but if you try any, I'd be genuinely curious of your success at using them for slab covers.
Both this and Hopper Ducts are using a custom renderer to avoid Forge's current mess. I tested for interoperability and didn't notice any issues, though I will specifically be addressing them sharing the renderer in both mods in the future, to work in a better/cleaner fashion.
This definitely sounds like a mod interaction issue. I can't say if it's FMP particularly, since I've used it with that before, but I would have to look through that pack's mod list to know more.
