I can support that Timescaler works on 1.7.10. I've been running it for weeks. You do have to use the config file instead of in-game commands, but that's my preference anyways.
Thanks for making this mod! Still the best way to double the MC day
With the latest 1.7.2 verison. I can not get it to work, and it is very important for my modpack, since it is in 1.7.10 and most mods will take a while to update to 1.8.
I have my timeScale option to to 0.01, which should be very noticeable, but my day lasts just as long as normal. The sun just jitters around. I am not on a server, either. Just a single player world.
Should I be using a different version? Which version are you guys getting 1.7.10 to work on?

Working for me in 1.7.10 with TimeScaler version 1.33, and I'm still on version 1291 of Forge, I think, 'cause I haven't gotten around to updating it lately.
Do you mean it turns to night for you after the usual ten minutes? A setting of 0.01 would give you a twenty-some-hour day, I think. What length of day and night are you trying to get?

I'll try 1.33, but I can't use a different version of forge - I finally got the one I'm using to work for all my mods.
It turns to night after the usual time, a time of 20 hours should be noticeable. Once it stats working, that's fine, I know how to get the right length. I used used that time scale to see if it was actually doing anything.

Just a status update:
I got the mod mostly working in 1.8 over a week ago. I had to disable Minecraft's client-server time sync and write my own, so it's taken longer than expected. Also, I got distracted/bored and stopped working on this for a while (aiming for a July release now). I think the only problem left is that there is a noticeable lag between the client and server time.
I haven't done any testing with 1.7.10 yet, but if the new 1.8 code works well enough then I can probably backport the changes to 1.7.x and fix some bugs there. The current version is kind of a hack, and I'm surprised to hear it works at all in 1.7.10.

Thank you so much for this mod, and I am very happy to hear you're working on it again! Even though I don't make huge changes (days a little longer, nights a little shorter), it make MC so much more enjoyable for me. With vanilla times, the days seem to flick by too fast to feel like you accomplish much before scurrying back indoors.
Would it be possible to make the Timescaler not affect other mods? I have a Local Weather mod, and the Timescaler cause the mod to become as slow/fast as the time is going. This is for version 1.7.10 by the way.

Unfortunately not. This mod works by setting the time of day at a slower/faster rate. Other mods use the time of day to calculate difference in time, and so these mods will be affected by TimeScaler.
dmillerw's mod controls time in an entirely different way that doesn't seem to affect other mods. You may want to try his version.
Hopefully this info is still relevant to you a month later...

I really love this mod, but I would really like to see it fixed for compatibility with shaders - just got a new video card, but I definitely lose immersion by such short days and nights...when timescaler (for 1.7.10) gets enabled, several textures just get wacky trying to work in conjunction with the different time scale...a fix would be realy nice....*nudgenudge*

Yeah, I've noticed issues with shaders too. Unfortunately, with the way I modify time, there's no way to fix this (that I know of). Try the toomuchtime mod instead - it changes time in a way that doesn't conflict with other mods.

Thanks, but that mod breaks too - I found a server plugin, "timefold" that seems to work really well - I think it might be the best scenario for those looking to just extend the time without breaking or modifying anything...maybe we could get a forge version for local/singleplayer?
Per the timefold page:
How it works[/header]
The plugin cycles through the set amount of days and after that, through the nights.
As for the days, right before dusk, it will set the time back[1] to morning right after dawn until the specified amount of days is reached. Then the same for the nights. If less than 1 day (e.g. 0.5) is left, the time will be set to about noon (exact time is calculated).
For example, if you set it to world:3:2 it will repeat like this:
Day 1 - Day 2 - Day 3 - (Dusk) - Night 1 - Night 2 - (Dawn)
[1] It does not really set the time back into the past (that would break redstone and growing etc) but instead, it skips the night.
My clients were getting a rejection notice when trying to connect without the mod installed on their machines, and couldn't join the server. Anyone else having a server-only issue?

Sorry to say it, but I don't think I will.
There's a super small chance that I'll update it since I might play this game in the near-ish future, but the more likely scenario is I'll be lazy and accept the vanilla timescale.
Would it be possible for someone to upload a mirror of the 1.7.2 version of this mod? It seems that the dropbox links have been generating too much traffic and are currently useless.
Man, I am having no luck finding a day-lengthening mod that has a 1.7.10 version and is set up with permission to include in Mod Packs. I'm waiting to hear back from the B3M creator, which is my preference since I'm used to it in my own builds, but in case they don't get back to me (or if they say no), I'd like to have an alternative ready.
w00tguy, what's your feeling about having this mod included in a public Mod Pack?
Given that w00tguy's last appearance on this forum was two years ago, I'm not hopeful about even hearing back. Anyone know of a time-lengthening mod that is happy to be included in public Mod Packs? Preferably one that allows day and night to be lengthened separately. Bonus if it allows for changes across the seasons (e.g. short nights during the summer but long nights during the winter).

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!

Oops, July came and went. I just can't get myself to work on this project - it's super boring now :< (mostly because I don't play MC anymore)

time flies while game is paused
... example: Night begin, I press escape, game is paused - I go smoke for 5 minutes and then I unpause the game----> boom its morning...

Sure, here you go.
The 1.8 version isn't working yet. I was trying to rewrite the server-client syncing and got stuck somewhere but i can't remember why.

Sorry, I don't check this thread often. Here's a mirror for all versions of v1.33 (including the experimental v1.34):

Best of all, no Adfly! I regret doing that in the first place.
