I left a short comment earlier because I hadn't had time to actually comment. I can't wait to see what this becomes. The idea of bottled fairies bringing people back at 0 hearts, and blue potions to restore health and hunger fully comes to mind.
I knew my game wasn't complete until I had this mod! I remember drooling over Chateau Romani back in the MM days
I was able to quickly build an homage to "Latte" the milk bar showcasing your mod in celebration, I hope you enjoy like it!
Am I the only one who heard the "Potion Shop" music playing in the background while reading this thread? I can help with that, I've done a lot of work with GUIs and Tile Entities.
I'm unsure of the brewing system I had in mind entirely, considering it would be fairly difficult. I will start working on that in a short while. I appreciate the offer; I may take you up on that.

I do hope you'll be satisfied with the becoming of this mod - Red, green, and blue potions are some of the features that will be in the 0.0.3 update!

Thanks a ton for the pictures! I'll have them up in the main post immediately!

It was my pleasure!
I'm having some issues however, I can't turn off 'Chateau Romani' spawning in chests even after turning it off in the config. Any ideas why? I'm even finding a couple bottles in the bonus chest when I start a new world!
Also how does one go about crafting a 'Bottled Ghast'? Or do I have to try to actually capture one of those things a la poe??

Chateau Romani still spawning in chests must be a bug - I'll get on that immediately. And yes, a Bottled Ghast must actually be captured from a Ghast in the Nether. There will be many more uses for all of the items as the mod progresses.

Another thing to report: when I try to milk a cow using a stack of empty bottles, the bottled milk doesn't show up until I've used up all bottles and even then I only get ONE milk bottle. Even if I hold just one empty bottle and have others in my inventory, this still happens! I'm attributing it to those dastardly cows, limiting me exploiting legitimately selling milk to those innocent squidwards. (3 emeralds for a bottle of milk!? Don't mind the emerald block castle by the river ;))
Also how do you exactly "capture" ghasts in a bottle? I've tried beating them down with the bottle but all I get is a dead spook. Maybe I should try the fishing rod?
Right click the ghast, and it should collect it in a bottle.
That is precisely why I changed the stack size of glass bottles to one. I don't know how you got them to stack in the first place; the game shouldn't allow it.
Suggestion:Instead of a normal bottle to capture a ghast,make a reinforced bottle,recipe would be 4 diamonds surrounding a bottle.
Because...lets all think how a ghast could be captured in a bottle?maybe with a piston, hint hint.
I was thinking about different tiers of bottles, like a 'Holy Bottle' and a 'Cursed Bottle' that are obtainable in special ways. I know that your process of thinking comes directly from logic. However, ghasts are not real, and if they were, I doubt you'd be able to catch them in a bottle. The 'Bottled Ghast' is making an allusion to my favorite childhod game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In the game, you can capture spirits called 'Poes' in empty bottles.
I figured something like that would fit the semi-realistic environment of Minecraft. I probably won't be changing the way ghasts are captured (aside from possible tweaking), but I will definitely have a couple different tiers of bottle.

You could always implement a "bug-catching net" (homage LttP)? Because to be honest, I still can't catch ghasts in a bottle; it might just be the combination of mods I'm using (probably also the reason I can stack bottles) or the eternal gaming issue that I'm using a mac.
Thanks! LordBlackHole and myself are working on rewriting it at the moment to add more drinks, an upgraded brewing system, and some more secret stuff. . .
You know it.
Full-on brewing overhaul? Maybe, maybe.
Thanks!
Sometime.
It doesn't seem all too useful to me, but I still think it's pretty cool.
Not to worry. This will be expanded to eventually be a brewing mod, that adds a whole new brewing system in, but for now, I'm keeping it small.
Thanks for potentially downloading!

Or at least a fixed config?
We're close, I'm working on a brewing system right now with LordBlackHole. Sorry for not updating very quickly!

I'm working on a complex brewing system at the moment, which is why there hasn't been a recent update. Stay tuned, there is a lot to come!
