A follow on from my previous post.. This casting delegate also doesn't connect t any connected AE cable, including EiO AE conduit upon loading my SSP world. If I replace the cable then connection completes. This is the same for the RoC auto crafting unit.
I've been having a rather annoying issue with ChromatiCraft's Lumen Beacon. The beacon block will randomly stop registering that there is a completed multiblock, requiring me to replace it. It seems to happen whenever I unload and reload the chunks it's in, but it also does that even if I don't leave and then come back. The lumen beacon is the same lumen beacon design in the book, I'm playing with the latest versions of ChromatiCraft, DragonAPI, Rotarycraft, Reactorcraft, Electricraft, Expanded Redstone and Void Monster. Any help is appreciated!
but i have a request for chromaticraft: to further general compatibility with the large variety of mods that exist.
request: an ability to blacklist the lumen turret from attacking certain mobs or the ability to blacklist all mobs from a mod. if a spcific mob then the peson using the feature needs to type in that mobs internal id. i.e "reika.voidmonster.entity"* or to block it from attacking all mobs from a mod "thaumcraft.jar"* within a config file.
why make this suggestion: i have previously seen a mod that adds mobs which the turret attacks that upon dying to the turret, but not when dying to a player, cause a game crash to desktop. other uses would be to prevent players from cheesing certain hard mobs/bosses by placing a multichroma rune + lumen turret.
if this feature is used the blacklists contents are added to another page of the lumen turret basically saying "modpack developer has blacklisted these from being attacked by the lumen turret. this isnt a bug dont report to reika"
obviously a option to turn it from a blacklist to a whitelist could also be added.
*: these are likely not the correct way to type these but it gives the idea.
sidenote: i find it weird that the voidmonster cant take damage from lumen turrets....
im thinking he isnt exactly sure how to use it reika...
@user_101: In the configuration file there is a segment labled "Dimension Blacklist" type in the list below this the dimension ID's you dont want it to spawn in. I.E: If a dimension is dimension ID 15 just add 15 to that list.

I was wondering if you could help me with a crash.
I believe it is an issue with betweenlands as when I take it out it will boot up again. I hope this is the right one as when I tried it yesterday it wont even give me a crash log anymore.

Sup, Reika. Good to see you're still alive. It's been years, and while I said...for years...that no new version of minecraft will drag me from 1.7.10, sadly, the performance improvements between 1.7.10 and 1.12 kind of did. I still miss a lot of 1.7.10 mods, yours especially. I'm not asking for an update. I'm no moron, and I've known you for years. That won't do anything to make it more likely. I'm just seeing what's up with you, and if you have any plans for the future of minecraft stuff.
Personally, I'm considering writing an updated block moving mod for 1.12.2. I have the experience to make it happen. Still not sure.
PS. I don't know if I've ever offered. If you ever want to move versions, and your reason for not doing so is the lack of trustworthy manpower, I'd gladly help you update stuff.

However, the resulting ingot after smelting the flakes does not have any oreDict name. How can I get the custom extracts to have their proper oreDict names? I suppose I could add a shapeless crafting recipe to convert them, but I'd prefer not to have to do that for every ore I'd like to add to the extractor.

I've been thinking about winding the coil spring. The book says that there's an increasing chance for the coil to break for each wound. It didn't specify any "safe" threshold (that is, the amount of energy you can wind the coil without any chance of breaking), so I assume it could break at any power level (even at 1 kJ, extremely rare but possible). If I, say, forgot to pull out the coil from the winder after it's done winding up (can't be wound anymore tighter), will the coil inevitably breaks?
To find out the answer, I looked up at your code, trying to figure out the exact algorithm of the chance of coil breaking. It turns out that the coil breaks at any power level. And the chance is:
Chance = ItemDamage / 65536 * DifficultyEffect
Where DifficultyEffect is 0.01 in Easy, 0.05 in Normal, 0.15 in Hard.
And ItemDamage is the internal item metadata (correlates to the energy stored in kJ).
Fortunately, leaving the done coil in the winder won't have any chance of breaking. It'll stay forever fresh.
Still, even a n/1310720 chance of breaking per n wound means it's possible. Also, chances add up over wounds. This is bad for some kind of setup where coil is reused many times, because you'll have to keep manually replacing the coil everytime it breaks. I know I could use the bedrock coils that will not break at all, but why does normal coil have to be this unreliable to break at as low as 1 kJ?
Knowing Reika, it's likely the realism that anything can and will break eventually. You can get car shocks, and even though they are made to hold cars, **** can happen anywhere from the initial forging and shaping to you receiving the shocks. You can pop them on your Corolla, and they can snap right there when the car is lowered. It's not likely... But it's possible.

Are you saying that a coil "remembers" how many times it has been wound and gets progressively more likely to break as that number rises?
I have no memory of coding such a thing, but thinking about it...I like it. It is realistic - it simulates long-term strain and creep in the material - and a small ongoing steel cost for the use of a charged tool is not substantial enough to be painful.

That looks correct, and like it is working. It does not add ore names automatically; you will need to do that with Minetweaker or something similar.
A follow on from my previous post.. This casting delegate also doesn't connect t any connected AE cable, including EiO AE conduit upon loading my SSP world. If I replace the cable then connection completes. This is the same for the RoC auto crafting unit.

no amount of relaunches has fixed this. I remember awhile back that sometimes the game would fail to launch and a reload would get it working.

I just checked your crash report.. It might not be your issue, but your version of AE2 stuff isn't compatible with RV3 of applied energistics 2.
I've been having a rather annoying issue with ChromatiCraft's Lumen Beacon. The beacon block will randomly stop registering that there is a completed multiblock, requiring me to replace it. It seems to happen whenever I unload and reload the chunks it's in, but it also does that even if I don't leave and then come back. The lumen beacon is the same lumen beacon design in the book, I'm playing with the latest versions of ChromatiCraft, DragonAPI, Rotarycraft, Reactorcraft, Electricraft, Expanded Redstone and Void Monster. Any help is appreciated!

but i have a request for chromaticraft: to further general compatibility with the large variety of mods that exist.
request: an ability to blacklist the lumen turret from attacking certain mobs or the ability to blacklist all mobs from a mod. if a spcific mob then the peson using the feature needs to type in that mobs internal id. i.e "reika.voidmonster.entity"* or to block it from attacking all mobs from a mod "thaumcraft.jar"* within a config file.
why make this suggestion: i have previously seen a mod that adds mobs which the turret attacks that upon dying to the turret, but not when dying to a player, cause a game crash to desktop. other uses would be to prevent players from cheesing certain hard mobs/bosses by placing a multichroma rune + lumen turret.
if this feature is used the blacklists contents are added to another page of the lumen turret basically saying "modpack developer has blacklisted these from being attacked by the lumen turret. this isnt a bug dont report to reika"
obviously a option to turn it from a blacklist to a whitelist could also be added.
*: these are likely not the correct way to type these but it gives the idea.
sidenote: i find it weird that the voidmonster cant take damage from lumen turrets....

@user_101: In the configuration file there is a segment labled "Dimension Blacklist" type in the list below this the dimension ID's you dont want it to spawn in. I.E: If a dimension is dimension ID 15 just add 15 to that list.

Curse PremiumSup, Reika. Good to see you're still alive. It's been years, and while I said...for years...that no new version of minecraft will drag me from 1.7.10, sadly, the performance improvements between 1.7.10 and 1.12 kind of did. I still miss a lot of 1.7.10 mods, yours especially. I'm not asking for an update. I'm no moron, and I've known you for years. That won't do anything to make it more likely. I'm just seeing what's up with you, and if you have any plans for the future of minecraft stuff.
Personally, I'm considering writing an updated block moving mod for 1.12.2. I have the experience to make it happen. Still not sure.
PS. I don't know if I've ever offered. If you ever want to move versions, and your reason for not doing so is the lack of trustworthy manpower, I'd gladly help you update stuff.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm just misunderstanding the proper use/syntax of adding custom ores to the extractor. As an example, I've added the following line to the config:
Manganese,AVERAGE,INGOT,ingotManganese,1,0xffcece,0xff9090,null,oreManganese
In the log, the following appears after both ingotManganese and oreManganese have been registered:
ROTARYCRAFT: Added extract entry Manganese to ingotManganese with rarity AVERAGE (1 ores found from [oreManganese])
However, the resulting ingot after smelting the flakes does not have any oreDict name. How can I get the custom extracts to have their proper oreDict names? I suppose I could add a shapeless crafting recipe to convert them, but I'd prefer not to have to do that for every ore I'd like to add to the extractor.

I like your RotaryCraft mod. It's so different from the other mods. Unfortunately, not many modpacks use your mod.
I've been thinking about winding the coil spring. The book says that there's an increasing chance for the coil to break for each wound. It didn't specify any "safe" threshold (that is, the amount of energy you can wind the coil without any chance of breaking), so I assume it could break at any power level (even at 1 kJ, extremely rare but possible). If I, say, forgot to pull out the coil from the winder after it's done winding up (can't be wound anymore tighter), will the coil inevitably breaks?
To find out the answer, I looked up at your code, trying to figure out the exact algorithm of the chance of coil breaking. It turns out that the coil breaks at any power level. And the chance is:
Chance = ItemDamage / 65536 * DifficultyEffect
Where DifficultyEffect is 0.01 in Easy, 0.05 in Normal, 0.15 in Hard.
And ItemDamage is the internal item metadata (correlates to the energy stored in kJ).
Fortunately, leaving the done coil in the winder won't have any chance of breaking. It'll stay forever fresh.
Still, even a n/1310720 chance of breaking per n wound means it's possible. Also, chances add up over wounds. This is bad for some kind of setup where coil is reused many times, because you'll have to keep manually replacing the coil everytime it breaks. I know I could use the bedrock coils that will not break at all, but why does normal coil have to be this unreliable to break at as low as 1 kJ?

Curse PremiumKnowing Reika, it's likely the realism that anything can and will break eventually. You can get car shocks, and even though they are made to hold cars, **** can happen anywhere from the initial forging and shaping to you receiving the shocks. You can pop them on your Corolla, and they can snap right there when the car is lowered. It's not likely... But it's possible.

Curse PremiumAre you saying that a coil "remembers" how many times it has been wound and gets progressively more likely to break as that number rises?
I have no memory of coding such a thing, but thinking about it...I like it. It is realistic - it simulates long-term strain and creep in the material - and a small ongoing steel cost for the use of a charged tool is not substantial enough to be painful.
That looks correct, and like it is working. It does not add ore names automatically; you will need to do that with Minetweaker or something similar.
It only wants dimension IDs, and you have it set as a whitelist.
