Hello Lycanite, sorry to be a bother, but I'm getting the ticking entity problem. I understand that it is with a vanilla mob, but when I attempted to replicate the issue with a private mod pack without your wonderful mod, I couldn't get it to happen. Hopefully I'm just missing something stupid because I really love your mod.
On a side note, all of your mobs can see invisible entities, in case you weren't aware. (My mod pack has a lot of hard hitting mobs, so it is useful to be invisible at low tier. LOL)

Hello there, I'm trying to make LMobs spawn in different biomes, but after each launch of the game, their settings are set back to defaults. I'm changing "loadDefault" option to "false" in each creature config file, as well as in global.spawner, but it doesn't work, what am I missing?
I was having the same problem. Every time I tried to alter any creature or spawner files, as soon as I load up minecraft everything is restored back to default settings. Very irritating.
"If you want to edit a deafult spawner you must set "loadDefault" to false or delete it from the JSON otherwise your changes will be overwritten every time the game loads up, the same will also happen if you have invalid json."
The only way to change files and keep the changes is to set the loaddefault to "false" inside each and every file individually. The global loaddefault file doesnt work. Because of that, simply deleting any file you dont want doesnt work, the deleting files will always return when loading up the game. The only way then is to change the change "spawning enabled" to FALSE withing each indivldual file. Its kind of annoying when deletion would be the easiest method.
For anyone who is having trouble with the game being too laggy, you can fix this by opening up this file: lycanitesmobs-common.toml. You can find it in the configs folder.
1.If the file doesnt open, or is not associated with anything, choose windows NOTEPAD and open it.
2. Scrolls down to this section - ["Global Spawning"]
3. Change this: #Scales the spawn weights of all mobs from this mod. For example, you can use this to quickly half the spawn rates of mobs from this mod compared to vanilla/other mod mobs by setting it to 0.5.
spawnWeightScale = 1.0
4. To This: 0.5
5. Now look for this: Under the section - [Client]
#Set to false to disable multipass rendering. This renders model layers twice so that they can show each over through alpha textures, disable for performance on low end systems.
modelMultipass = true
only one problem when i try and update the mod in RLCraft it keeps crashing on load up, C:\Users\ME\Twitch\Minecraft\Instances\RLCraft\mods and i put the new mod folder in there, i've tried deleting the old mod because if i don't it with will come up with a conflict, saying open folder.
havent seen anyone else post this but tamed creatures are no longer owned by the player after a restart. I have a bunch of wild tames and they all say 's pinky or 's roc. Cant interact with them but they are not hostile. Tried using soulstone on them but it says I can only use that on tamed creatures. Cant retame them with treats they could care less. Same with things like cockatrice hatched from rotten eggs. Soon as you restart they are no longer interactable.
Anything I can do? i am using RLCraft modpack and updated your mod to 2.0.0.12 from 2.0.0.7 before posting.
I see this mod is still going strong, always been one of my favourites!
Does anyone know how to stop calpods from griefing? I think it's cool how they can break into buildings, but I'm having a problem with them destroying all tree trunks of all trees in my world, leaving only floating tree heads. It's just really ugly to see nothing but floating tree heads and no grounded trees. It took a while to figure out it was the calpods doing it, I had to catch one in the act.
I thought I would find something in the configs but I've tried and tried and found nothing related to block breaking or griefing, included in the calpod's own config file.

Okay, I don't want to be rude, just gonna give some fair, healthy criticism here - the new models for your DOOM-esque mobs is... ugly, and not in a good monster way. The original models were actually much better.
In particular, the Behemoth just looks wierd. Its head looks rather bulbous and off-putting. it looks more goofy than intimidating now. In some ways it is a bit of an improvement over your original (a more brawny design in the torso, more defined features, etc.), but given minecraft's general style of animation for things, this appearance just doesn't look that good.
The Belph's appearance isn't that bad, but personally, i liked its original appearance, as it felt more... minecrafty.
The Pinky, however looks pretty sweet, and the rounding isn't as detrimental for its appearance as it is for the other two. May i suggest making it look a little more muscular, and not putting so much emphasis on a smooth appearance? It's not that bad, but the Pinky looks too bulky to me.
it's not my place to tell you how to design your mobs, and trying to tell you how is absolutely not my intent, but this new "rounding" for their models is kind of wierd to look at. Just food for thought. The new designs are ambitious and show quite some effort, but I just don't feel like they suit Minecraft's graphics and animation very well.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I'm not really happy with the Behemoth so I'll likely be redesigning it a bit more soon. The smoother model/texture direction is something I'm going to keep at though as I'm deliberately avoiding the vanilla minecraft model style now, this is mostly because I prefer the smoother style and also because I'd have to redo every mob using strict cuboids in order to truly match the vanilla style. The Dweller is a good example to look at, I was trying to stick to the vanilla style but I break the cuboids rules making it look a bit awkward, so instead of going all cuboids I'm going for the full smooth look with 32X+ textures packs in mind.
I have however added full resource pack support to the mob models so anyone that wants to make vanilla style models for the mod is very welcome to do so and has my full support.
The new Roc model is an example of what I'm aiming for design wise these days:
I see this mod is still going strong, always been one of my favourites!

Can anyone please help me resolve this problem?
In the latest updates I've moved these configs over to the creature json files.
For Calpods head to config/lycanitesmobs/creatures/calpod.json
Set "loadDefault" to false and then edit the griefing setting in the flags section at the bottom of the json file.
But it does not work, if I set ignoreBiom to true I do see him but I want to make him spawn only in certain bioms
The "biomes" section takes biome tags rather than biome ids, each biome (including modded ones) should have a series of tags assigned such as hot or cold, dense or spooky, etc.
However you can use specific biome ids if you want too, you'll need to add a "biomeIds" section to the json file, so it would be:
"biomeIds": ["biomesoplenty:floodplain"],
You will also need to add a "biomeIdListType" and set that to a "whitelist", similar to the "biomeListType".
I have a problem with this mod, only some mobs from it are spawning. There are a lot of Makas, Jousts and Arisaurs, plus some monsters in caves, but no birds, no water creatures, no predators like Feradons or Barghests, etc. I changed their spawn settings to higher values, but I see no effect. What else can be done with this issue? Mod version 1.12.2-2.0.3.1

Be a friend,Zomblad NOW!
Is that possible to add mobs from another mods to soulband list? I mean that i have Hippogryph and i wanna add it to the book. xD
For example, you can use this to quickly half the spawn rates of mobs from this mod compared to vanilla/other mod mobs by setting it to 0.5.
spawnWeightScale = 1.0
4. To This: 0.5
5. Now look for this: Under the section - [Client]
#Set to false to disable multipass rendering. This renders model layers twice so that they can show each over through alpha textures, disable for performance on low end systems.
modelMultipass = true
6. Change it to false
Save file and no more lag.
only one problem when i try and update the mod in RLCraft it keeps crashing on load up, C:\Users\ME\Twitch\Minecraft\Instances\RLCraft\mods and i put the new mod folder in there, i've tried deleting the old mod because if i don't it with will come up with a conflict, saying open folder.
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BE MY PAL NOW!!!!!!!!!
havent seen anyone else post this but tamed creatures are no longer owned by the player after a restart.
Everytime I start minecraft with the 1.12.2 version of this mod, it crashes. Even when it's the only mod I'm using.
FIXED: Turns out I had to reload the config.
Hello, I'm trying to make creatures spawn at custom bioms from biome o plenty
So I opened beholder.json for example, set loadDefault to false and added to bioms biomesoplenty:floodplain
so It looks like this:
"biomes": ["biomes": [ "mountain", "biomesoplenty:floodplain" ],
But it does not work, if I set ignoreBiom to true I do see him but I want to make him spawn only in certain bioms
Can anyone please help me resolve this problem?
In the latest updates I've moved these configs over to the creature json files.
For Calpods head to config/lycanitesmobs/creatures/calpod.json
Set "loadDefault" to false and then edit the griefing setting in the flags section at the bottom of the json file.
"biomeIds": ["biomesoplenty:floodplain"],
You will also need to add a "biomeIdListType" and set that to a "whitelist", similar to the "biomeListType".
Ok, new and improved Behemoth coming next update!
Whoa, hell yeah. Definitely scarier.
having problems Concapedes spwan an enormous amout to the point of crashing my server. any way this is a bug or setting issue?
This should now be fixed with the latest updates.
