Pick some more obscure ID's for the glass; they intersect with another mod of mine.
You are right, there are a couple of mods out there that are currently using the Same Block ID's
I'll set the defaults to something a little more obscure.
In the meantime, read back in an earlier post of mine to change the Block Id's for yourself!
Hey no problem. Forge has this GREAT thing called a Config File. This lets any users change the Block Id's to WHATEVER they want.
1.) Navigate to your .minecraft folder... Hopefully you know how to get here if you're using forge.
2.) Find the config folder
3.) Open the EasyColoredGlass.cfg file with a text editor like notepad, or equivalent (do NOT use Word)
4.) Now, change the sets of numbers to unused block Id's that are available... I have to leave that step to you, as I don't know what you might have available (try anything between 256 and 4096) All block ID's must be unique, and can not be shared by any other mod. (Unless you want more conflicts)
5.) Save, close, and start up Minecraft!
Let me know if you have other issues
I appreciate you trying to walk me though changing the ids myself. I have already done this and its working fine for me, however, i was not really asking for myself but for other people who wish to use this in conjunction with Natura. Especially those who have a sever, each individual player will have to mod thier config file client side to make it work with natura, where if you were to change the IDs in the mod itself to something that doesnt conflict with a pretty popular mod, lots of people, including myself, would probably appreciate it
Changes in the new Mod will not affect old installations.
I repeat, this update does NOTHING if you've already used the old mod. Instead, delete your config, and THEN run 1.6.2.2 if you want the new block id's to be present. (This will erase old blocks if there are any present)
Yeah, just use normal boundaries of conduct. Credit where credit is due, and make sure this isn't for any sort of profit means.
(Send me a link when you're done creating it, so I can see!)
Good mod, I think this mod should be more popular...
But how long will you update this mod for?
I had this mod for 1.4.7, and was busy all summer, resulting in a stretch between the two available periods. I don't want to make that large of a jump, and leave users without the mod for that long of a time.
I am doing my best to keep this mod up to date (and It should remain easier than the switch from 1.4.7 to 1.6.2)
We'll see how colored light goes. If that ever happens, I can't promise updates as fast as possible. If I end up creating colored light like I envision it, then I'll probably have two mods separate, so I can update EasyColoredGlass more frequently
I have one more suggestion
The 1 for 1 on the dye vs glass is very resource heavy especially on big projects I would like to see an option possibly in the config file to change the recipe so its a little less intense. For example, in vanilla 1.6.2 surrounding one dye with hardened clay yields 8 stained clay blocks.
I could make this a configurable option if you want it, however, I felt that as colored glass should have some expensive feel to it. After all, it not only looks nice, but it tells others (who see your creation) that you worked hard to create that color. Just like using 4000 wool shows others that you spent time to create all of that color... or you used creative mode.
When compared to other mods, this glass is actually easier to create than other glass. (Forestry for example)
In the interest of keeping everyone happy, would you rather have another option look like this?
EasyRecipes = false;
While it is set false by default, you could set it to true if want a cheap version of sand? (8 sand to one dye?)
I wanted to stay away from this... and make big players start down the path of massive dye creation... If it's a deal breaker however, I can make this happen.
(Also remember that glass panes are cheap! 6 dye + 6 glass = 16 panes!)
Normally i would completely agree with people working for what they have. In fact the majority of the mods i have installed on my server, i didnt want, because it made everything too easy But giving the option would be nice and even with things like Wool... There are other ways to go about doing it. If you use 4000 colored wool you could have had a colored sheep farm that you sheered regularly rather than obtaining, mixing and dying each wool individually
I was just using the vanilla recipe for stained clay as the example of other recipes that yield a bit more output than 1 for 1.

I took a look at the ratios for Hardened Clay.
You are very convincing in your comparisons. So I got around to making a configurable recipe to model Hardened Clay's ratios.
1.) Download version 1.6.2.3
2.) IMPORTANT: Install and run the new version... this will change the config file
3.) Open the config file
4.) Set "Easy Recipes" to true, in the config file, save and close
5.) Profit?
Would you like a mod showcase video for your main thread?
There are a couple of spotlights out there, but they don't show off the config file. You are more than welcome to show off the mod in a spotlight, and if you do, I'd encourage you to demonstrate mod's installation, and config file.
No promises on whether or not it will show up on the OP, but if you do a good job, I can't see why not!
Config file and how to install? piece of cake!
Hope I am currently editing and uploading a video now so the one for your mod will be ready in about 4-6 hours!
Hope you like it
Note, that's just just regular glass down there... and there still is a lot to do. It's slowly getting there!
Great work! It's encouraging to see more people working on supposedly "impossible" features for minecraft. The best of luck to you, I really look forward to enjoying these features in my worlds.

You're kidding... I can't believe it!
It seems that almost every mod has its own version of colored glass and colored lamps, but everyone has always said that colored light would be near impossible.
If you could only fix the rendering engine so you can see transparent materials behind other transparent materials... I know it would be very hard to do.
