That's quite odd, but my mod DOES come with a CTM hook into Kahr's MCPatcher... apparently Optifine's connected textures don't behave... Well, that's good to know.
The fix is to install MCpatcher to use connected textures (it's implemented quite well) and then use Optifine for everything else (don't use Optifine's connected textures at the same time) Sorry about that.
Although, if you said that if you "removed" my mod, then the bookshelves would work again?!? That makes no sense. Can I have you confirm?
1.) Install Optifine with connected textures enabled
2.) Make sure everything works (Glass, bookshelves, etc)
3.) Install EasyColoredGlass 1.6.4
4.) Check to see stuff breaks (Glass, bookshelves, etc)
5.) Remove EasyColoredGlass
6.) Make sure everything works again
If that happens, I've got a bug on my hands... my initial thought however, is that I can blame Optifine somehow. The hook I used will only mess with colored glass and colored panes. It might be a simple resource pack/convention issue that I used.
*thinks for a second*
........
*sudden thought*
That, and I do remember that I included connected textures for colored glass, colored panes, and regular glass and panes! Basically, my mod doesn't include ctm bookshelf textures...... and Optifine might have been expecting them for some really bizarre reason. I only included two sets of ctm, and never made a third! (did Optifine render connected textures on glass and colored glass for 1.6.4?)
Long story short, I released ctm textures for colored glass and regular glass, but not bookshelves... Optifine's most likely being lame. Either use a texture pack that includes ctm bookshelf textures, figure out a way to pack them my jar, or don't use Optifine's ctm and use something else.
Is this compatible with the 1.7 colored glass? In other words, if I use this in 164 to make colored glass, does it make the same thing that vanilla colored glass is in 1.7.2?
No, i'm assuming ids will change. Also, to make the new colored glass, for 1.7, you surround a dye with glass. That's it
Has this changed? I know the colored sand will not survive. I am not getting errors from Forge about "this will NOT survive", so, does it now update to the vanilla colored glass? (Heck, if it just survives as plain glass, that would be enough :-).
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Uhh, problem, when I clicked on the mod download for the latest 1.6.4 version, it just sent me back here. Can someone help me please? Like maybe give the actual link to download the mod, because I tried so many times by clicking the mod download on this page, but it keeps sending me here for some reason, and I don't know why. Anyone know why this is happening?
I completely agree with you, dogman, having the ability to make Coloured Sand quickly became a serious bonus with this mod, to the point that I even made my own textures to keep more in line with the John Smith Legacy texture pack, along with my redo of the stained glass/panes.
I honestly miss being able to have Coloured Sand... but right now, the Captain is busy working on Coloured Lights, which, to be fair, is much cooler, and a bit more in demand.
Quote from dogman035I wish VANILLA stained glass used this recipe... Then we would have colored sand, as well...

There was some discussion about adding these blocks to Chisel-2. Which would make sense if they added in the 16 variants of chiseled colored glass, along with sand.
You two should make a request/feature request on that forum.
It's important to note that you wouldn't want to chisel colored sand into another color........ but rather that with the advent of colored sand, you could chisel one variant of colored glass, into another texture of colored glass (they have a couple)

The main problem I have with Chisel-2 is "Chisel adds a huge variety of static blocks to the game.". If you remember (it's been over a year, so I'm not offended if you don't) my biggest peeve is the addition of more blocks than I need, or extra items that don't make sense to me.
That said, I know you're not likely to release a "Coloured Sand" mod, essentially being this, minus the Coloured Glass blocks. Maybe one day Mojang will make it a vanilla aspect. I mean, they've thrown in all manner of other blocks, it's only a matter of time.

Well... I liked chisel, because the added blocks and features were all based on vanilla directly... there aren't extra mid-tier recipe ingredients. If you want an AntiBlock, it's made out of vanilla components...
Jenkins will build and harvest the mod from the workspace... so you'll want to click that link, and download the "Latest Successful Artifact"
Edit: Sand isn't ctm (why would it be)... Glass is Minecraft's, so find a CTM texture for vanilla colored glass.
Colored sandstone variants would be fitting.
Recipes are the same, 8 sand + 1 dye = colored sand. Smelt colored sand for stained glass. Vanilla Red Sand, and glass recipes still exist.
I added the three varieties of colored sandstone, and colored sandstone stairs. Note, I had a render issue with the stairs, so the are considered transparent (like glass) for now. They render solid, but the game will let light pass through them in all directions.
Recipes are mostly the same, however because the normal colored sandstone is a different block ID compared to smooth colored sandstone, you can't mix and match them to make the other pieces
I used the ore-dictionary to unify the experience as close as I can to vanilla. Use any dye to color sand. You can dye any sand block immediately (you can dye smooth sandstone into colored smooth sandstone using the same recipe 8 items, surrounding 1 dye) You can use and type of sandstone to make stairs (like vanilla)
The TODO: is
- Half blocks
- Implement some Chisel-2 API (optional)
- Figure out what went wrong with stairs, and move away from the "solid, but transparent" stairs.
- Fun world-gen things
I don't know when I'll get to this, so there's the beginning. I'm interested in keeping this up to date... but I think I'm done spending time here again for a little while. Let me know if anything goes terribly wrong.

If you don't feel it fits, I can respect that.
