Hello Sildur. Just a quick question : what was your view distance when you did the benchmark on the first post ? I have a 3570K @ 4.2Ghz and a GTX 1070 and, using the medium version, I sometimes have FPS drops to ~45fps on far view distance.
You realize you're comparing your frame rate to a static screenshot, just adjust your shader setting accordingly to the frame rate you're comfortable with. Shaders are injected on top of the game so they can't be perfectly optimized. I run vibrant high on my GTX 970 and I get ~45fps as well which I'm comfortable with (using Optifine smooth fps helps too)
I assume you are going to include the flickering fix in the coming version? In that case I look forward to it! Best of luck on the enchanted item rendering issue.
Also in the future update, would it be possible to have adjustable variables for emissive blocks like pumpkin light, glowstone and sea lantern? I have a map that use pumpkin light liberally and even with bloom off it's a bit intense.
With bloom
Without bloom
Hopefully my comments and suggestions don't undermine my appreciation for your hard work on this shader pack!
I noticed some bugs, most of them are already reported.
1. Water is invisible through stained glass
2. The world is not drawn correctly behind stained glass held in hand.
3. Stained glass held in hand is not drawn in front of the sky.
4. Default clouds are drawn in front of blocks when enabled
I use:
Vibrant shader 1.153
Nvidia GTX 780 with driver 368.81
Minecraft 1.7.10 with shader mod 2.3.31
Rendering transparency through transparency is pretty tricky. So water is known. Same goes for handheld stained glass against world / sky.
Not sure about those clouds, doesn't happen here.
Uhm...That's exactly what i'm asking : how he made his benchmarks. I'm not comparing screenshots at all, I was refering to the numbers he wrote next to the download links (for ex., "~80-110fps on a GTX960@1080p").
I do not know the conditions he was when he found those numbers and you don't either. You're right with one thing however : I need to know if it was static gameplay or if he was moving and the view distance he was using.
I wasn't criticizing anything. I play at 60FPS with some moments at 45 which isn't comfortable for me so I simply wanted to know if this was normal or if there was a problem with my rig. I had already adjusted my settings ^_^. Considering your own performances with a GTX970, I guess it's pretty normal. That's all i wanted to know !
Updated the main post with lowest, average and highest framerate during normal survial gameplay in a SP world. View distance is 12 (I believe that's the default setting?) and use VBOs is on.
How to install exactly wiith forge? You say to use the other shader mod with forge, but that is not compatible with Forge. Can you not have forge at all with this mod?
Edit: Got it installed, but everything is sort of black when it's dark, and bright when it's not. Clouds are visible through all blocks..

Check if your graphics drivers need to be updated. Also, Optifine has built in support for shaders and is compatible with Forge, I recommend that for using shaders.
This shader is very cool, but the newest version have a bug.My hands always shining, when I'm facing north or east, this situation become more seriously. When I'm holding an enchanted ting,it will be black. When others are wearing enchanted armor, and moving, his armor will be black too.
Ok, so clearly I'm not the only one having problems with the flickering hand. I just got 1.153 (thanks Sildur) and I'm still having this problem. I thought maybe I should update Optifine, because I was still using the initial 1.10 release of it. I have the 1.10.2 HD_U_C2 edit of Optifine and I'm still having the issue. I'm stupid and don't know how to find the other stuff I need to help more(processors, etc.). Maybe it is just me, but I don't think it is based on some of the other recent comments on the thread.

I'm using the vibrant shader right now, it's absolutely amazing! However I have encountered one problem: whenever it rains, from time to time small areas on the screen become twisted, as if rain has fallen on the camera and blurred it; I suppose this is an intended feature, but this is bothering me immensely now since I prefer the rain mood, is there a way to turn this off?
I'm on 1.7.10 right now. It happened that I could find none of the 'in-game options' mentioned in the posts, is it because I am on an old version? Thank you very much o.o
EDIT: Firework particles seem to be invisible against the sky, only visible against blocks as a background.

Well this still occurs on me Only if i use OptiFine

Hey, I tried the vibrant shader(lite version) and when run minecraft then change the shaders then after that it only gives me poppy bright colors..
I'm pretty sure that i downloaded the right file cause my pc is only using it' built-in card (intel card)

The option is called Rain_Drops, but 1.7.10 doesn't support ingame options, those come with optifine for 1.8+. So open up final.fsh and add 2 slashes infront of #define Rain_Drops (-> //#define Rain_Drops)
Needs update asap, double tall blocks like roses and ferns, ect. act like tall grass, and sugarcane is in the same boat too.
Life in the woods dynamically patches some ids into my pack. The guy who created the launcher did some mistakes for some entites like sugar cane. Will look into that, if I find some time..

Lighting strength per block isn't possible.

This bug is already known, as it been posted by multiple users in this thread.
Sildur's quote for reference:
You didn't mention anything about drivers being the latest version, or your Optifine/Minecraft version.

The problem with the clouds that goes through blocks, i spotted that also in my Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 computer so :|
and also a sad change to the current version, it makes mg game laggy
V1.141 - 35-40 FPS average
v.1.153 (Current) -25-30 FPS
i can't stand this one :'(

This was occurring on nVidia systems if you were using a driver older than 368.XX. Once I updated, I was fine.
It is driver-related.
Problem is AMD/Intel don't seem to support it, even on newer drivers. (I'm still testing several Intel systems)
Sildur is working at finding another method to accomplish the task, without losing massive FPS, or functionality.
Needs update asap, double tall blocks like roses and ferns, ect. act like tall grass, and sugarcane is in the same boat too.
Can i change the torchlight color? It´s too yellow for me!
Thx for help!
What is the texture pack used in the 3 screenshot in vibrant shaders screenshots?

forge just crashes :\
Thanks for the reply back, that's the only problem with this shaders pack, other than the sugar cane being crazy this shader pack is amazing.
