Many of these sounds are actually used across many other video games, and probably movies.
The only exception is the glass sound, that I recorded with a window at home. I didn't find any suitable glass sounds on that website. The glass sound in-game is actually glass and wood played simultaneously.
Hmm.. What if you made a server-side mod that just assumes that all clients have the client-side mod installed? Can the server tell clients to play sounds from outside of the default sound folder?
I've been trying to install this w/ ML, optifine, zan's minimap, and gammabright, but it doesn't recognize the zip and the folder. Can you help me? i'll give you my versions folder as a zip. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xjeezza6kct0ira/1.6.2MLOptiZanPF.zip

I just tested your versions folder, and all is working as it should!! I hear all footsteps just fine!!!
I'm going to repose something I posted in the MAtmos thread.
If you're using ModLoader, the mod will only work on multiplayer servers if you have loaded a singleplayer world first. It's a ModLoader issue.

I didn't know this bug existed until just now. After doing searches I found out this thread: http://www.minecraft...s-in-modloader/
Since Minecraft 1.6, Risugami's ModLoader has had several annoying bugs. Some are quite major, and a few can actually make the game almost unplayable! Many mods require ModLoader to work, so I wrote this patch to fix them. Currently the patch fixes these bugs:
Sound shuts down after 30 seconds when using ModLoader.
Mods with in-game GUIs (minimaps, HUD mods, etc.) do not work on servers until a single player world has be loaded.
Some mod config files are not saved properly.
So apparently, some of the previously reported sound issues for 1.6.2 and the mod not working in multiplayer unless you loaded a singleplayer world first, are caused by ModLoader
---
I don't know what I should do really about that, it's out of my scope.

Yeah I know of 3 sound issues at the moment:
The modloader one, which I patched
One in MagicLauncher which has existed along time, although it was very rare until 1.6.
One in the game that does not exist normally, but mods and I believe resource packs can trigger it.
This is like, best mod EVER! Still soe few flaws, but really good! Faws: Maybe you could change the volume, like in one of your works, MAtmos? And make it so you can change the hot key for it. And, some blocks seem a bit .... Too squishy/squeaky. And please make it so we can support this mod.
EDIT: Woops.. You can support the mod
EDIT (AGAIN): Nope, you can't support
Sweet corn-dog Jesus swimming in a pool of caterpillar chocolate chips! This is the one kind of thing I always dreamed to have in minecraft. Thank you so much for that.
But I have an idea, can you make sure that when you run right after we hear our character breathe? Or walking like that, he coughs, it would be great and will add a touch of RPG to Minecraft.
Just, I'm French and I speak little English so I use Google translation.
Thank you for forgiving :/
I bought a library of 80 royalty-free footstep sounds + 5 single sounds (brushes, leaves, ice, metal, water), for about $95 at StockMusic.com

This was answered in page 3, basic answer is likely not, sorry

Diamonds for you!
This is a amazing mod! Such a simple idea, but it is done so perfectly!
