-Why? Because Getting Wither skulls, and then fighting the wither is a pain, also for all the peaceful players out there.
-How? By adding 2 items and 3 recipes to Minecraft. A nether star core, with 4 nether star branches gets you one full nether star, but beware, it's not cheap crafting.
- Now with a PLUS, adding other recipes such as blaze rods and powder and ghast tears.
There are also 2 difficulty setting, found in the configuration file, in .minecraft/config/ : (now 3 (0.2.0 and up))
-The default, "Easy", makes the Star Branches recipe be this one:
-The "Hard" option, makes the Branches really harder to get, since the recipe become this one:
The Other recipes are the Nether Star Core :
And, last but not least, the Star itself:
From v. 0.2.0 and up, there are also these recipes:
Nethery Nether Star Crafting Option (in the config):
Blaze Powder Shapeless Recipe:
Blaze Rod Recipe:
Bottled Tear Shapeless Recipe:
Ghast Tear Recipe:
V: 0.2.1 +
Ender Pearl Recipe:
V: 0.3.0 +
Slime Ball Recipe:
String Recipe:
Name Tag Recipe:
Saddle Recipe (any wool color will work):

Installation. (For all my mods)
1) Install Forge, Following Direwolf20's awesome tutorial (for MC 1.6.* and up) :
2) Locate your .minecraft/ folder,
-On windows, press [windows]+[R], then type %appdata% in the box that should have appeared, press [Enter] and you should see a .minecraft/ folder.
-Sorry for Mac and Linux, i don't know how to find the .minecraft... if someone tell me how, i might add it, or you just Google it
3) Enter your .minecraft/ folder, if you have run your forge instance once, you should see a mods folder, if not, just run your forge instance from the launcher to create it.
4) Put the downloaded ".zip"archive in the /mods/ folder.
5) Start your instance and enjoy
(Note: i will hardly answer to anyone that come and say "can't install", "too complicated" etc. Always remember that Google is your friend, other people might be more able to teach you how to install a mod, and my mod(s) are installed like any other mod out there.)

For m it works great on 1.6.2, but crashes 1.6.4. I used adfly also. :-)
Well, i'm sorry. i assumed it worked on 1.6.4 without actually testing it... i gess it doesn't work that way
I'll look into that and correct it as soon as i can.
I see this as not OP at all! (Unless you change world-gen )
Maybe change the recipe? To something more about the nether?
maybe, i could add more config options... but there isn't that much stuff in the nether that isn't cheap... maybe you could propose some crafting recipes?

yeah... i could do something with them.... but i made the mod in the first place to be compatible with peaceful so no blazerods nor ghast tears in peaceful.
i'll see what i feel like doing. may add a "Nethery" config option later.
The ender pearl recipes 1.7.2 version NOT working!
what version (of the mod ) are you using? cause that recipe is only in the latest version (0.2.1) which should work on 1.7.2 if you use forge 10.12.2.1145+. But it was actually build for 1.7.10.(for which a good part of the 1.7.2 mods still work w/out need of updating.)
PS: i guess i could have made it more obvious since i don't think most of you guys read the changelogs anyway... sorry for that
The 1.7.10 is not updateable me, beacuse the 1.7.10 forge is not compatible 1.7.2 mods. My modpack is 1.7.2...
yeah, that's why. The ender pearl recipe had not been added yet in this version of the mod. sooo, update your mod? (and forge, cause it will crash if forge isn't 10.12.2.1145 or more.) (hopping that will not break any other mods you're probably using. :/ )
What if somebody can't craft the star core because they live in a world that's just completely void of emeralds?
Well then, you..... are basically f**ed
Though a world that has absolutely no emerald generation is quite rare, and even then, you can get some from the villagers.
Also, the mod is made to be used in a "normal" setting, as in a normal "vanilla"/"BoP" and such world gen type, not full flat grass and other oddities. Oh, and you can always change my recipes using MineTweaker or an equivalent.
Ps: I've gone trough your google doc, and I've noticed a good number of mods (including mine) where the primary link (the one when you click on the mod's name) redirect to some 3rd party websites (minecraftsix, 8minecraft, 9minecraft and so on)that I know I've not posted to nor gave the permissions to post my stuff on (and I know most other authors didn't). Please change those links to official mod pages (either this forum's pages, or curse's, or the official mod's website (if applicable)) as to not encourage those 3rd party websites.
Not that it will have any impact on if you can use or not my mod, cause who am I to stop you.
You Can get to .Minecraft on mac (which on mac is just "Minecraft") you have to click your desktop or open Finder, go to the top and there'll be bar near the end it'll say "Go" click on that and hold down the "alt" (Option) key on your keyboard a new folder will pop up named Library open it and open "Application Support" then scroll Down and find "minecraft"
