Turns out it works flawlessly when I don't cast too steep.
Thanks man!
As far as that issue goes, you could make the mod detect if there's no catches for >2 minutes or so (whatever's a good amount of time) and notify the user of possible errors they made when casting.
I'm just going to work around it and have it function correctly even when it decides to float above the water. I already have it working nicely now, just need to do a bit of testing and I'll make a release here soon. Thanks a ton for the feedback.

No problem.
I've been using it for the past hour now and it seems like it's been missing a few catches here and there. I'm not sure why, because when it misses these catches it DOES reel the line, but nothing comes out. No exp gained or anything. It's possible that it's server lag in these cases.

If it reels just as reaches the top of the water after casting, that should be fixed in this update. If it reeled when you actually got a bite, it's either too early and I can add a slight delay, or it's server side lag, or it messed up in some other way. I guess you can't always be 100% accurate in SMP though.
So here it is, Autofish 0.4.1 for 1.7.2
• Fixed it not detecting catches when the rod visually rises above the water in SMP after being casted
• Fixed ClientPermissions support
Seems to be outright missing the occasional catch here and there, not reeling at all.
This is when I fish at a normal angle cast.
Just to clarify, when the "splash" noise plays, there is a catch available, correct? This is what I'm basing my "misses" off of.
EDIT: I've been fishing with my bob at least 30-50 blocks out, since I've been trying to cast my lure at almost no angle, so if distance factors into the effectiveness of this mod, that may be my issue.
in my server, after the plugin nolagg clean the itens on the floor, it doesnot throw again sorry, im brazillian
Does the server send a message when entities are cleared? If so, what is the exact message it's showing you? (a screenshot works)
If the server doesn't display it then I can't really know when it clears the items. There is a chat listener in place to have it survive a clearlag, but it's virtually untested and I need to make the message it detects customizable again. I'll do some testing on it and try to get an update out soon.
How does one download this? and can you tell me in detail? I have already downloaded liteloader and the mod.The mod is in a blank page and I don't know how to handle light loader

For LiteLoader all you need to do is run the installer and it creates a new profile in the launcher that you can select and run. Put the mod itself in the /.minecraft/mods/ folder and you should be good to go.
I seem to be having some kind of issue with the auto-fishing mod. I don't know what could be wrong since I followed the instructions and even referenced a page for another litemod related mod installation, but for some reason my minecraft kind of registers that the mod has been added, but it isn't listed in neither the normal mod list, nor the Litemod mod list. The file extension is done correctly, so that isn't the issue.
Anyone else having a similar issue? 'Cause my other normal mods, and even litemod mods are working as intended.

If you could provide a full startup log it would definitely help track down the issue. This can easily be done through LiteLoader, press F3 in the tab menu and "Upload Log".
Okay never mind, I got it working. When I read your reply to press F3 to see the LiteLoader startup log, I tried that only to find nothing happened. Confused, I tried it in-game too, to no avail. I thought it might be that I needed to update my version of LiteLoader, and after I did, I was able to get into that F3 menu for LiteLoader. Got the pastebin all set up and ready to put on here, then I looked at it and it said something about the auto-fisher. Looking back at the game-screen, I saw it was active. I guess all I needed to do was update LiteLoader.
I wanted to use Autofish in conjunction with the Fishing Nets mod by Duke605, as they seem to be a perfect combination. But there seems to be a conflict between LiteLoader and Fishing Nets. I mentioned it on the Fishing Nets page, and Duke605 said:
"LiteLoader is not designed for this kind of mod. LiteLoader is designed for client side mods only."
Does anyone know how I might be able to run these two mods together?

Just tried them both together and I was able to get them working fine.
Make sure you're doing the installation correctly, here's what I did:
Install the latest forge normally using its installer
Open the LiteLoader installer and use "Extract" to put the LiteLoader jar in /.minecraft/mods/1.7.2/ - Forge should load LiteLoader and their mods will run together.
Put both the Autofish mod and the Fishing Nets mod in the mods folder as normal
Launch the game from the "Forge" profile it created.

Awesome, it works, thanks.
When I ran the LiteLoader installer originally, I just told it to install, rather than extract. Once I extracted, as you suggested, it worked like a charm.
• Configurable key (V by default) to open a GUI for changing individual settings.
Instead of this, why not just have a Settings button in the LiteLoader "tab" thingy? Why need a key? It's just one more key taken up by a mod that does not really need a key, when I have other mods where I could use the key more efficiently.

Mainly because it's been that way since before LiteLoader had that functionality and I never took the time to change it. Since you brought it up I'll move it to the tab next time I make a release.
I'm having an issue. When the Server is deleting items which are laying on the floor and the console says "xx Entries have been deleted" or something like that, the rod "stucks" and it doesn't throw out the line again. I have to press my right mouseclick twice to get it back fishing. Any suggestions how to solve this problem? Sorry for my English^^
The main problem with working around this is that these entity clearing plugins all have different messages, some don't have messages at all, and most can be configured. This means it's impossible for me to determine when the hook disappears from a plugin.
The server owner is usually at fault here because most entity clearing plugins have a way to choose which entities are cleared and the fishing hook can easily be removed from the list. The ideal solution is to contact the server administrators and get them to remove the fish hook entity.
The other solution is for me to have the mod detect the chat message and have the regex be configurable so it works on different servers. This would only work for servers which display a message and players would have to know how to write regex in order to make it work for them.
Hey this mod looks amazing, was wondering when the next update will come and for which version it will be released to? 1.7.4/.5/.9 or 1.8? Thanks, cant wait to get this goin in smp !!!

(Btw it gives you a message for a 1 minute warning and then it tells you "xx"Entities Cleared.)
