I ran into a problem while building, and I don't know if anyone else has had trouble with this.
But I was building a test structure and it uses double "hidden" doors, but for some reason I can only open them with red stone signals. When I try to open them by hand it just doesn't do anything.

I'm going to work on adding a door key to handle door actions.

Just a thought I had a moment ago, (and you don't have to do this) but could it be possible to make/code a 'doggy' door? Not so much dogs opening a door, but only letting dogs through the door. I was messing around with the Carpenter's hatch and tried to make a doggy door with no success.
If you're gonna run into redstone a little more, can you take a swing at the pistons issue? It's really bothering me that I can use all these millions of variations of all my modded blocks, but when I try to make something at the bit functional, it ruins the effect.

My minecraft crashed when I tried to place a carpenter's door. It had worked up until then. Also, when I place many carpenter items, there is a tiny lag spike every time I place another block nearby and sometimes it places two blocks. Other than that I love this mod. I've never done this before so I hope this helps.

Just a thought I had a moment ago, (and you don't have to do this) but could it be possible to make/code a 'doggy' door? Not so much dogs opening a door, but only letting dogs through the door. I was messing around with the Carpenter's hatch and tried to make a doggy door with no success.
Shalimar had suggested a dutch door with independent opening pieces.. This is easy to implement and might fulfill this purpose. As for a half-door all by itself.. maybe.
If you're gonna run into redstone a little more, can you take a swing at the pistons issue? It's really bothering me that I can use all these millions of variations of all my modded blocks, but when I try to make something at the bit functional, it ruins the effect.
I will consider it, but I can't make any promises until I understand the code a bit better.
My minecraft crashed when I tried to place a carpenter's door. It had worked up until then. Also, when I place many carpenter items, there is a tiny lag spike every time I place another block nearby and sometimes it places two blocks. Other than that I love this mod. I've never done this before so I hope this helps.
It's a little odd you would be experiencing spikes when placing them. The null pointer crash you posted is also a little odd. I will test it a bit prior to next release but I can't offer any help in the meantime.
Reminds me, fences need to connect more smoothly with slopes and stairs and slabs. Gives a bad effect when the connection goes up, but never fully tightens in.
i've got the problem.. when i apply any texturepacks and place carpenter's door , door of glass is get purple color.. please fix the error and sorry for my bad english
Iron. Which I relized last night when I did it again that it made the door act like an Iron door, and we all know Iron doors don't open by hand <<. Though it'd be great if the key thing mentioned would allow an Iron door to be opened without red stone signals.
So yah, not really a bug as it turns out... just momentary stupidity on my part.

What material did you use to cover the door?

Carpenter's Piston? That also sounds pretty cool.
I meant work with pistons. Currently blocks, slabs, and stairs cannot be pushed.

This is probably an issue with your texture pack and not a bug. What texture pack do you use?
