I'm guessing you're either using MultiMC, Curse client, or have gotten so used to clicking the info button for the direct download link that you've forgotten that the official download site has always used adfoc.us? Unfortunately, adfoc.us has gotten as scummy as ad.fly lately; they serve up malware and run "inappropriate" ads.
Quite the possibility on the MultiMC part. I also wrote that on a 72 hour bus ride and I cannot be held responsible for my thought process after that.

I love this mod! It is so awesome! I think because you can have a grass or snow or mycelium top/layer on a carpenter block you should be able to have a podsol top/layer... if you get what I mean by that...

Dear Mineshopper,
I had downloaded the Carpenter's blocks 3.3.8.1 DEV Version, using Minecraft Forge 10.13.4.1614-1.7.10, and loaded Minecraft without issues. However, when I created a new world, A message reading "shutting down internal server" appeared and I got the following crash report:

GENERATION 22: The first time you see this, copy it into your signature and add 1 to the generation.
Crash doesn't pinpoint the issue, other than a join crash. You might want to try a Forge version closer to 1180, and see if that improves anything. Every once in a while a newer forge build requires updating the mod.
Hey there. How do you prefer bug reports to be handled? I'll just post this here for now. The Carpenter's Garage Door becomes unbreakable if you interact with it after placing it too highly above the ground. This behavior appears to start if there are six air blocks between it and the ground. I used the last durability of an iron axe attempting to break it as well, which caused a phantom item glitch. Edit: and you're unable to place blocks in the air spaces beneath the door. If it makes a difference, these bugs occurred were before I retextured the the doors.
Double edit: I'm using the mod in FTB Infinity Evolved, 1.7, version 2.6.0 of the modpack itself. If you've addressed these bugs since then, disregard obviously.
Really enjoying the mod. Hopefully it becomes one of the venerable ones that stick around, like IC2 or Buildcraft. Very versatile, kind of the be-all, end-all deco mod.
Could be many things, but it's more than likely an older version of the mod. Once the garage door is placed it will create doors down to a solid block -- if this doesn't occur it is likely glitching. Not being able to place blocks in the air beneath the door is expected. Not being able to destroy the door could indicate you're not the one who placed it (if protections are enabled). This can occur if you're playing on a server that switches between offline and online mode.
If you're able to capture a log when this occurs, it might help pinpoint the issue.
So with the port of these carpenter's blocks going to 1.10.2.
Is 1.11 in the plans as well? I would very much enjoy to play with carpenter's blocks and thaumcraft at the same time.
With the present updates being so small in scale, most mods should be mostly forwards compatible with a few hiccups here and there. 1.9.4 mods work on 1.10.2 with very few issues and the jump to 1.11 is about the same.
As long as they don't makeover the rendering system again, I don't see any reason why it can't be updated easily in the future. And no sweeping changes like blockstates and block positions would also help.
As for an update, I've been stuck debugging a tile entity update bug for the past few weekends.

Alright, cool man, that's totally groovy
Thanks for the time you are putting into the update, I'm really thankful you are doing so. Hope you have a nice day too
Edit: That did it! The missing slopes are back. Yay. Why we're these removed in the first place? Did you goofed?
When I added new rotation code for slopes I changed hammer clicks to rotate left or right. But it seems everyone likes it the way it was before, so I undid that change.
EDIT: fixed post.
EDIT2: Finally overcame tile entity bug... I should start making progress pretty quickly now, but still some possible hurdles (block drops, sound events, particle events).
What is the current state of expected "portability" from 1.7.10 to 1.10.2? Will a world "just work", or are the changes going to be at the "start over" level?
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Where are you getting it from? There is a direct download option on the Forge download page, but the main download links lead to adfoc.us
Quite the possibility on the MultiMC part. I also wrote that on a 72 hour bus ride and I cannot be held responsible for my thought process after that.
@NDSDNScraft Forge provides direct download links for people in situations similar to yours.
These links bypass all ADs and link directly to the Forge files.
1. Go to files.minecraftforge.net
2. Select your Minecraft Version (probably 1.7.10)
3. Click on "Show all downloads" button
4. Find the latest version (should be 12.18.1.2076)
5. Find where it says "Installer-win" hover your mouse over the small "i"
6. Now you should see a link that says "Direct Download"
The above shows gives you a general idea of what you are looking for...

First, why 1.6.2? Second, there isn't one for 1.6.2. The only 1.6.X version that has Carpenter's Blocks is 1.6.4
