Based on what i've seen, this seems like a complex, hard to navigate, hard to use clone of TMI/NEI.
Plus, most of the icons are a single flat side/top texture, like the Iron Door is an iron block, the Bed seems to be a redstone block or red wool or something, and a pressure plate or wood button or whatever is a wood plank.
plz come out with forge version soon and maybe add a recipe book so haters dont have anything to hate about
and does it have custom spawners? like tmi and nei?
Right now the mod doesn't have custom spawners. This is because there's no way to get an item in your inventory in vanilla that will place a custom mob spawner. If you were to give yourself a custom spawner with nei or tmi, then uninstall it, the custom spawner would revert to a regular spawner. If I did something like that, it wouldn't work on smp servers and it would break if you deleted the mod. The goal of All-U-Want is to give you every item that is actually in the game, not to add new ones.
However, I'm working on a separate mod that allows you to place custom spawners. Notice in the OP it says "first part of my mod"? The second part is the spawner part. It will have the ability to place every possible custom spawner, not just a few select options like tmi or nei. Since there are a lot of possibilities, it will take me longer to make.

I can hardly see this working out.
Here's some features that this mod has that neither TMI or NEI have:
itemstack sizes >64 and <1
any damage value on items
custom item names with colors and formatting
custom lore text with colors and formatting
repair cost for anvils
any number of enchantments on every item
custom potion effects up to level 127 and down to -127
player heads with any player name
fireworks with unlimited colors and explosions
rename author and title of books
edit books already signed
any color of leather armor, even if you couldn't craft it
you can put blocks on your head (press 'r' over your helmet slot)
and
It works in any multiplayer server where you have creative! even if you don't have access to ANY commands, and the server doesn't need to install anything!
Can you design a GUI that has all those features, yet is easier to navigate than the one I made? If you (or anyone) have any suggestions I'll gladly take them.
To your complaint of "most" of the items having flat textures, the reason for that is that it's how they show up in your inventory! The ones with flat textures are actually the block form of the items, where normally you only get the item form. My mod, unlike NEI or TMI, allows you to get both. If you were to push the right arrow a few times, you'd see the regular form with the regular texture. (the "pressure plate or wood button or whatever" is actually the block form of a sign, the regular form is on the 4th page.)

You can already select which slot you want the items to go in. Just open your inventory and press 'r' over the slot you want them to go in and they will go in that slot. This even works with the armor slots!
If you want f4 to activate the main gui, go to the pause menu then options then controls, click on 'R' and press f4. I personally think r is much easier to reach from wasd than f4 is.
Read my last post.
I might make a player data modifier at some point which would be able to change xp.
I'm still crashing. Every time I hit "r" in crafting menu, my MC crashes.
I just tested it with forge, and it's working fine. Are you sure you re-downloaded and re-installed the new version with the fix? If so, can you post the new crash report?
Sorry about that, I fixed it in 1.02. It was a conflict with toomanyitems. Sorry everything messed up for you, but thanks for all your help fixing stuff! Please tell me if it works this time...
This mod is really nice to play around and have fun, but there's two things I'd like to suggest.
#1: There are lots of mods and also the vanilla MC itself uses metadata(damage) values to list their blocks and/or items to take up less block/items IDs. Can you make it so that your mod lists all of the blocks that uses the metadata(damage) values as well?
#2: Can you add a feature of where you can change the button configuration of accessing the GUI? because I also use NEI, that uses R as the default to look up recipes(even though it already has control settings anyway to change the button configuration).
Just helpful suggestions for the future. Other than that, the mod works great! ^^ Keep up the good work!

#1: I could do that with all the vanilla blocks, but that would take up a lot of pages. Maybe as optional? All the blocks are accessible if you change the "damage" text box or the number buttons. I was also thinking if you change the damage value, all the items in the list would render as if they had that damage value. The problem with listing ones from mods that are just there to take up less block ids is that there's no way to know which ones are different with different values. Maybe I could compare the icons?
#2: You can already do that, if you go into options > controls there should be an option for it. It's misnamed "spawn entity" though, I'll fix that in version 1.03.
How about double-clicking the block on the item editing part of the GUI shows up all possible meta?

This has the same problem as just listing them all. How would it know which metadata values are actually different? There are 65536 possible values. I could just have a giant list for vanilla items, but it wouldn't work for mod items.

In version 1.03 the option should be in controls under "All-U-Want" so there shouldn't be anymore confusion.
installing right now !!!
if this works this is my 2nd favourite mod !!!!!
1 question:do mod items work ? i almost never use mods which add items/blocks but....
btw some suggestions:add some buttons like the ones in tmi and nei :heal, clear inventory......
a recipe viewer
and btw i got another question :can u get the command block without being op ?
annnnddd...another question is it possible to make enchanted books ?
Yes mod items usually work, they show up in the GUI, but some of them might need additional nbt data to work right which my mod doesn't have right now.
I might add stuff like that in a while but it will be in a separate GUI.
Yes you can get the command block without being OP but it would be useless since you can't place it or type stuff into it. You could brag about it though!
No it is not possible to make enchanted books... honestly I just forgot about them. I'll add a new button for them by tomorrow, then you can make them.
It works fine for everyone else... Are you doing it right? You have to open your inventory, then mouse over an inventory slot and press "r". If this doesn't work, can you tell me if you're using modloader or forge and what other mods you have installed?
thx ^^
it works great for me :3
but what about the crafting recipe helper ?
and btw u can´t edit the firework stars at the moment ,can you ?
Ok, I just uploaded version 1.04 with enchantment books!
A crafting recipe helper isn't really something that I think would fit in this mod very well... If enough people want it I could make a separate mod for it but mods like that exist already.
Congratulations, you've found the only 2 nbt tags you can't edit with my mod according to the minecraft wiki! (Except map_is_scaling but I have no idea what that does). I'll add a firework star GUI sometime soon, but I don't really see much use for custom fireworks stars because you can just give yourself a full firework. Unless you're making a map or something.
Plus, most of the icons are a single flat side/top texture, like the Iron Door is an iron block, the Bed seems to be a redstone block or red wool or something, and a pressure plate or wood button or whatever is a wood plank.
