Craftbukkit/Bukkit, Source, and versions for more are coming soon!
Readme/Installation:
These are the files I changed to make Minecraft <version you choose here> to work with the new login servers (URL).
Yes, you can use offline mode, but if anyone knows your IP, it can be insecure.
For Client:
1. Open your minecraft.jar with a program like WinRar or 7zip. (on windows, no idea about other OSes)
2. Delete the META-INF
3. Copy the class file (nb.class) into your minecraft.jar
4. Close the jar file and start Minecraft
For Server:
1. Open the minecraft_server.jar with a program like WinRar or 7zip. (on windows, no idea about other OSes)
2. DO NOT DELETE THE META-INF!
3. Copy the class file (cv.class) to the minecraft_server.jar
4. Close the jar file and launch the server
Other Info:
This mod was really easy to make. All I did was edit a URL to the Minecraft Login Servers. I'm only releasing this so you don't have to edit code to do it.
- DarkenMoon
Changelog:
V1.0 - First Release. (probably the only one)
A few notes:
The Bukkit version is in the works, but I already have the readme ready to go for it.
If you don't trust me, you can set online-mode to false. It will allow you to login without the mod.
The server and client MUST BOTH have the mod!
Please remember that this is for old versions of Minecraft, not for new versions.
Also, this post is incomplete, please don't flame me.
The Minecraft community in general isn't about "respecting and caring" either. It largely consists of narcissistic children who disregard those other than themselves and like to spout anger, abuse, troll and flame. It is also why any competent multiplayer builder either owns a private server or one where build allowance requires in-depth vetting. If Minecraft was about "respecting and caring" these measures would clearly not be necessary.
If you're here from Google Search: this doesn't work.
It's ironic considering that this was made for an already outdated version of the game, but upon installing the mods, my game stopped starting up. My guess is how much Mojang have updated their servers, but it also seems possible that it never worked in the first place, given the few responses (and how two of them actually say that it doesn't work).
The reason why the mod doesn't work is because the way you manually install mods has since changed (since the 1.6 launcher, which will replace a modified jar with a clean one unless you make a custom version); I just posted instructions on how to manually install mods in a related thread (I've only done this on 1.6.4 recently but it should work on any version; it only takes me a minute to make all the necessary changes):
(Of course, it is possible that Mojang changed the login process again but that should not stop the game from starting up, unless you tried blocking the launcher from resetting the modded jar, which will not work unless you edit the files as described in the link)
In short, it fixes this:

*Nvm i use bukit thats why maybe >.>*
EDIT: I've worked out how to change it, but its not working :/
The new launcher runs all the old versions too. Even back to indev and pre-dating indev.
No as the server login is broken in the older versions due to the wrong url.

This thread is six years old. Of course it doesn't work.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
