- Works in both Single and Multiplayer
- Keeps the noteblock setting even if the mod is removed
- Doesn't change the noteblock at all
I want to ask about this. So, it works in multiplayer, and the setting for the noteblock saves even if you remove the mod, but it never changes the noteblock. How does it work?
You say it never changes the noteblock, so that means you never actually touch the noteblock itself? Like, the mod doesn't make you right click it so automatically set the pitch?
Basically what I want to know is, if I use this mod, it will be purely client side for me? If I use this mod, I am the only one who will hear the sounds, no one else, because you never touch the noteblock?
no, you just set it via the gui and it will be like you hit it several times.
If you were responding to me (you can press the Quote button so it's easier to tell), are you saying that the mod will make you click the block technically, the proper amount of times? That's what I assume it does if it actually touches the block, which OP sais it doesn't.
If you do this with the paintings all of the Minecraft Builders will come to your home and give you the biggest hug!
I would if I could, but it's been done before besides. Check out Davidee's Painting Selection GUI! Due to the mechanics of paintings, it won't work on vanilla servers though.

Good point, that's an ambiguity in wording I inherited from the original author. To answer your final question, no, it's not purely client-side; other players on servers will also hear/see that you were tuning a noteblock.
By 'does not change the noteblock' I mean the mod doesn't replace the vanilla noteblock to add custom code (for example to add server-aware GUI handlers). The mod shows a GUI that is only client-side and sends the appropriate button clicks. From the server's POV, it's like you just "touched" (in your sense) the noteblock manually mod-less, and everything proceeds as normal: the note block is tuned; the server sends the appropriate notifications to relevant players, etc. In single-player, I do directly modify the data in the noteblock, but still do not change how vanilla noteblocks work. I'll make a change in the OP somehow to reflect this, thanks.
Nice job with remaking the mod, makes Note Blocks so much easier to use. Also, would you mind if I used this mod in my modpack?

Oops, sorry for this late reply.
Sure thing! I prefer that you do a few things though (not required, but appreciated). This is taken verbatim from FyberOptic's mods permissions as I feel similarily:
Mostly I'd like to know what pack you're going to include it in, both so that I'll know my mod is in a pack if I were to see it somewhere, as well as to know the various modpacks to suggest to people if they want to try my mods in one. If you have a certain theme, or your pack is used for a particular purpose (streaming, etc), then I'd be interested to hear that too. Just post in the thread or send me a message, and I'd appreciate it a lot!
The other thing I prefer is that you have a page where people can see the mods you include, along with links to their websites or forum threads. Then people can go read about the individual mods, see how they work, and be able to report any problems they find.
This is a very handy mod to have, especially if you are into noteblocks as such. The only issue I have noticed is if you are not looking at a noteblock and hit the g key (or whatever key you have bound to it) it will crash. This is only if you don't look at a noteblock.

This is in 1.8 as well.
Ok, I found and fixed some NPEs when targetting entities, and released a final 1.3.3 for 1.8. If you still experience issues, could you post a stacktrace?
Thanks for making this MOD!

@xaero_ Glad to see this mod back When I made note blocks on survival server this mod was so much helpful.
I wonder if you have plan to update this mod with new 1.12 note block mechanics. They added some new sounds (like gold block below note block makes chime bell sound, other make guitar.. and so on). If your mod support these new sounds I think it would be perfect

Ok this is news to me (that's what happens when you've been out of the minecraft scene for so long!). I believe I can reuse the existing piano GUI for the new sounds since there's no new pitches, but a completely new GUI might be beyond me for now.
I had almost given up hope for this mod getting updated. So glad you're back tho. I can't explain how amazing this mod is to me. Making giant noteblock creations in survival is possible again! <3
Is it possible for this mod to be updated to 1.13/1.14? (I would be willing to help as I have coding experience but this would be my first Minecraft mod)

Hope that clears it up!

This litemod is very useful!
I wonder if it will be updated to work with 1.9 versions now as LiteLoader is releasing 1.9 versions?
I need this for 1.10 ._.
Yup, 1.10 would be nice.
How to use this .litemod?
