This is my favorite mod, but I have a major issue with it. When I log off in my single player world when I have block golems with me, They don't get back up unless I hit them, then they don't sit back down!!! What do I do?!
I had the same issue as Lictor.
This sucks, I don't have the time to go farming for another head to make another one.
I have a request, can you make a spawn egg for the golems? Not a needed request, it'd just be awesome to have them come out of dispensers in adventure maps that use this mod when I make them.
Oh no! That is certainly bad.
That bug has been hard to test and fix, since I can't find exactly what's causing it and in the MCP environment, my username is basically randomly generated each time I open Minecraft or change any code.
Yeah, I might make an option for spawn eggs. Just keep in mind that golems from spawn eggs will be hostile towards the player (though I think block golems without owners are usable by everyone).
I've got the same issue, luckily I have Ars Magica and the Heal Other spell so I can smack 'em around a bit then heal 'em up. This mod is also incredibly fun with the Minions mod! I haven't tried telling minions to use a Chest Golem yet though. In general the Utility Mobs have wonderful interactions with other mods and rarely conflict (besides shooting villagers or something like that)
Another thought:
Scarecrows would make a wonderful "repulsion" Golem, given what they are. Also a tiny farmer Golem that can harvest Melons or Pumpkins would be kind of epic! There is about a billion different mobs that have them harvest wheat, so I thought it would be kind of interesting to have something that gathers a full melon - making more interesting than the player harvesting the melon and getting slices.
Hmm, yeah. Though, I don't know what they would scare away.
Also, farming golems. Those would be helpful, and they might come at some point. Maybe.
I'm planning on making a jack-o-lantern block golem that works kinda like a chest golem, except it only has one slot. If you put torches in it (possibly any block that gives off light), it will automatically place them down in dark areas.
I was wondering. I think your great special mobs mod and your lava monster use Mod Entity IDs, but your utility mobs mod is still using global entity IDs. I think. I'm still not 100% on telling the difference from my logs.
I'm trying to avoid mods that use global entity IDs, for reasons of inter-mod compatibility. It would be amazingly wonderful if your Utility Mobs could use Mod Entity IDs too. Or even just a list of which IDs you're using would be really handy for making sure we don't get in a tangle when re-assigning mods that allow entity config.
Ah, thank you for bringing this to my attention! It looks like I overlooked that when I was updating Utility Mobs to use Forge.
Plus, their registration parameters are all wonky. I'll fix these in the next update.
For anyone else reading this, that means all your golems will vanish in the next update.

When things like that happen I always cheat them back.
Father toast, can you give mobs more health variants? I mean most of the mobs have at most 10 hearts, can you make them have more health variances? I think it would make mobs more interesting.

Yeah, I think I can do that. I've given them varying move speeds, attack patterns, armor, and colors. Why not health?
I tried it in creative mode with the book and quill and still doesnt work, not even the book + ender pearl recipe and the book + skeleton head recipe, i tried in every posible position

Does the rest of the mod work? Do you have the latest version of Minecraft and Utility Mobs?

yes sir the rest of the mod works correctly and i have the last version, i tried making all the turrents, works perfectly, also the golems works too, but i cant craft those books the turrets upgrade manual and the block golems manual, and if i cant craft it well i dont know how to upgrade my turrets or how to make block golems
Psionic Turret/Psionic Upgrade:
Deal damage to the target instantly rather than firing a projectile. This would be useful for things that get into my pet pens since the normal turrets seem to kill me pets while shooting at the target.

Very strange! Do the other manual recipes work? What other mods do you have?

That would be useful, especially for using melee golems with the turrets. Though, turrets that shoot arrows shouldn't be able to harm things tamed or owned by players they are not set to attack. What kind of pets are they?
Mo' Creatures elephants and scorpions were getting shot up, but come to think of it I haven't tried since the 2.0 update (I haven't set turrets up anywhere I bring pets since then just to be safe.) I'll go test it out with different things really quick and let you know if it's still happening. I'm sorry for bringing up an issue that I was just to absent minded to try to see if it persists! XD
EDIT:
You are 100% correct, the arrows bounce harmlessly off elephants, scorpions and chocobos! You're a genius!

OMG I had an idea A turret, mounted on a golem (like obby or large cobblestone)
Haha, that's awesome. That actually gives me another idea: extra large golems. XL golems could be like moving fortresses with a turret on them. They'd be a lot more difficult to build, since you wouldn't be able to just jump to get the head block on.
I feel like physical difficulty to build works as a good balancer. As for turrets - I actually chose fences as the middle block for turrets just to make them a little more difficult to build. Originally, the turrets were going to look more like Deadly World's towers.
Does that apply to villagers, or could it be made to do so? It'd be great to know that I could leave a turret in a village to defend against zombie invasions without worrying about accidents.
Hmm, I could add it in as a feature later. I think by default, things turrets don't target can still be damaged by stray shots. A couple golems will work great until then, since they can't miss and zombies don't fight back.

It could be that another mod is taking the recipe. Try enabling the alternate manual recipes and crafting the ender pearl with a book and quill.
