I'm considering scrapping The Mists of RioV and focusing on a new RPG mod. Similar to it, but smaller in scale, and with a lot more focus. What are your thoughts?

Currently working on porting The Mists of RioV over to Minecraft 1.12. I'm having to completely rewrite the mod.
My plans are to make it more lightweight, and have only one dimension with tons of content and stuff to do. I may just abandon this thread, make a new thread and call the mod simply, "RioV".

Wait what about the update for 1.7.10 you forgot to add the content back that you removed
Do you mean entirely different than RioV? I plan to go the Aether route, and have one dimension with lots of content. Although this new mod would have RioV content, just perfected and tweaked and such.

You should just incorporate some things from RioV you'd enjoy instead of porting the entire thing over/restarting.
I also would like to suggest if you ever do get the time to make an expansion/other RPG mod is adding more structures and traders to each dimension instead of just the aesthetic look. A lot of dimensional mods suffer from this; the places look great, but there isn't a lot to do other than go there and defeat x ect...
For example: just a tiny bit of NPC villages, rare NPC/mini-bosses (so you aren't stuck with just summoning a single boss/grinding for loot with x amount of regular mobs) and just rare structures all together so the world isn't too confined, but has variety with each seed. Also, mini-biomes.
Also, the use of subtle music to bring a place with personality is heavily needed in practically any mod. People tend to forget how much music sets the atmosphere in most titles in general, but you could also be the first to use it in practice (other than big mods like the Aether).
Skills, weapons, crafting ect... is definitely up to you. That's entirely a direction only you see.
Last thing i would like to enunciate on is having tiered dimensions and an end-game dimension(s). That way, instead of slapping hard and easy NPCs randomly spawning around out of sheer algorithm, you could do things such as to dig down, find underground structures - and just like Terraria, the farther you go down, the harder it gets. Also, underground structures ect... would probably help a lot with the excessive grinding for ores you usually do in these types of mods. It'll make something to look forward to other than mine shafts/your strip mines.
Pets/Companions (yeah, but its a lot of work).
Not saying to add any of these, but these are some of the things i always looked forward to in this genre of mod, but never EVER saw once. Thank you if you read any of these suggestions.

If a new mod is made I don't want to see a semi empty dimension with not alot of stuff to do. I want content filled stuff not the number of dimensions. That is what I would like to see at least.

I literally just said that, but you said no, and to keep working on the 1.7.10 update.

Yes I would love to see a new mod from you but, I also want to see the missing content from RioV added back in Yes I did repeat what you said for another user.

You defiantly removed alot of content including 3 dimensions before and after pictures of the update. I would defiantly check every single block/item in there since there is 3+dimensions missing and their blocks and who knows what else

Dude... those aren't my dimensions. The max RioV has ever had was 4. I know my own mod, man. I've never seen those blocks before either.

Well they differently are in your jar and it's missing items and blocks. mabye you removed Rio V II mod that was merged with RioV? There is a dimension in the previous version literally called "RioV" so I assume you must be mistaking? I only tested this with your 2.5.1 mists of RioV jar.
These pics below prove rio V II is missing even though the merge of Rio V II and V merge came a long time ago...

I'm done arguing here. There was package renaming, but that's about it. No content has been removed dude. I don't know how else to put it.
Hey everyone,

Making a new different mod might be better
Mod author. Too lazy to list mods, go here instead.
Help out the Official FTB Wiki reach a billion pages! (I keep having to update this, so let's just make it a billion)
No he needs to finish 1.7.10 and updating this wouldn't hurt.

I don't need to do anything. This isn't my job, and I don't have any contracts that state I have to x and y. I can do what I want.
No you don't have to but, you said you would finish 1.7.10 bug fixes and when you did that you lost over half the content

I haven't removed any content.
Maybe it's a bug because, the dimensions were gone last time I checked and I posted it here as well let me re-launch and test again.
Dimensions haven't been removed. I downloaded the mod yesterday to play with my girlfriend. No content has been removed lol
