Okay guys, I've got a somewhat working pre-alpha build of RioV 1.7.2. I might release it today when I finish up items and block functions. Keep in mind it's a pre-alpha. It is not intended to be used for actual playing.
How the heck do you kill aun tun!? It takes 1 damage from everything (had damage indicators installed) and a ton of health. I literally, LITERALLY spent 5 straight hours beating it down and did I kill it? No, my game crashes and when I turned it back on, aun tun was gone. Rage quit.

I'll fix it next update. You need to use bows and other magic items. Mind showing me the crash report?

Sorry, that actually happened a long time ago. Now that I am trying to remember, I actually had a bunch of other mods installed, some were very large, it probably wasn't because of the mod itself. I just wanted to know how to kill aun tun because I knew I had to have been doing something wrong. (I swear, next time I play minecraft, I will murder aun tun and win back those 5 wasted hours of my life).

Well if you insist. Just use scrolls, wands and bows. Also dark matter bombs (need a lot) and blue magic apples.
i already started a world with some mods. ive only been in one biome and my house is in my start point and beneath there was a huge cave so i havent explored much... If i put this mod in the pack and open my world, will everything from this mod generate in parts of the world i have not explored?
ATTENTION ALL RIOV USERS OR USERS OF SHEEN'S MODS.
Due to Mojang's unbelievably wrong decisions about mods yesterday, I'm done with modding Minecraft. If I cannot have terms on my mod on where it can be distributed it, then I will not continue to mod the game anymore.

Modders are not allowed to have terms/copyright areas detailing of where the mod can be posted. Meaning anyone can take the mod and claim it as theirs and make money off of it.

But you've seemed to create a large enough base that anyone looking to download this mod would come to this topic?
That entire thread is a lol-fest and filled with so much mis-information it is not even funny.
Indeed, I cannot control who uses my mod once I put it out in the public nor can I add code that forcefully crashes the game for whatever reason - which, btw, is the only thing Marc ever referenced. Some forum warrior decided to use his poorly worded statement as fuel in their own agenda.
However Thaumcraft is still my IP. I have full control of the code and how it gets distributed. I had just been told as much straight from the horses mouth.
In effect, I cannot prevent a modpack from adding my mod, but they aren't allowed to copy and distribute my code (or the .zip file) without my permission.
This was just posted by the creator of thaumcraft on his topic if that helps

Yes but that's not the point. What about new modders that have created an awesome new mod, slowly building up only for people to steal it and make money off of it. The original dev loses money and it's a lose-win situation. The leecher wins by getting credit and money because their site is filled with oblivious 9 year olds looking for mods possibly infested with malware.
The dev loses because he doesnt get credit and loses money.

I see. Well this is disappointing, I hope something is resolved or changed and that you will go back to modding eventually.

Sad to hear that Mojang has said so.
Hopefully they will think more on this and the consequences of 'credit leeching'.
I'm kindly asking for no one to carry on working on RioV, I don't want anyone to touch it. Thank you.
This is just being selfish. I can understand not wanting to work with people you don't agree with, but denying your fans further enjoyment is simply holding a grudge. If someone wants to continue your work, let them, just don't help. Mojang wasn't mad to cater for you and neither you them. That however does not make you Mr. Right and allow you to try and force your opinion onto people who legit like what you made. Its selfish to keep something good to yourself because of one person's actions.

No, I just don't want people to work on it because I don't want to see it changed. It's not selfish, plus I'm porting RioV to Starbound. RioV is my baby (that sounds weird... anyways) and I don't want other people owning my baby.

Be more respectful, I don't see this as selfish at all, him protecting his work? I protect my work, when I stop developing a game, I don't want someone else to take over, thats just wrong... Plus he has had to put up with Mojang for a long time without wanting to, you should be grateful he has stayed this long

It was a nice run everyone, farewell.
what did Mojang do?
I can't seem to find anything on the subject..
