The dropbox links are giving 404's and for some reason, my ISP seems to be blocking mediafire. I can't even get the source from github and build it as that was updated 3 years ago!?
I updated the downloads what it seems dropbox wants me to use. It's impossible to find a download site that just gives you a direct download instead of going through some intermediate step with ads on it most of the time. Hopefully the service will not get mad and completely remove the download. Thanks for the heads up @Farproc!
A lot of mods are hosting on curseforge now... I presume because its convenient... At any rate, as a person who downloads many mods I like curseforge hosted mods as there is very seldom any kind of ad gateway.
hey so, i'm running a nearly vanilla 1.9 world right now, only have forge, mantle, tinker's construct, and your barrel mod installed. for some reason, i cannot craft the barrels, i put in the materials that you have shown, but nothing. did i miss a config somewhere when i installed this?
Maybe the crafting recipe is a little weird in the configuration file. Make sure it looks something like this:

I only tries crafting the t1 barrel only. Maybe it's not working for higher tier of the barrel. What barrel are you trying to craft exactly?
ok, maybe my minecraft was just being stupid. it works now, with the same recipe, maybe it just needed to be reloaded or something... whatever, probably my own fault, blame user error. anywho, thanks for the help, i'll let you know if i run into any issues, but for now it's working just fine.
I updated all versions of the mod and added an updated 1.7 so you don't have to use an unofficial update of the mod. The 1.7 version is using the updated networking code so that it should be much stable. All versions before had a bug that I didn't notice until my friend was having errors. It took me a while to find, but I found it and people should not be crashing out of their worlds if they spam items in and out of barrels. I put in some safety into the networking so that some pesky crashes to the main menu won't happen.
And of course the dreaded: cpw.mods.fml.common.LoaderException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: cpw.mods.fml.common.registry.LanguageRegistry.loadLanguageTable(Ljava/util/Map;Ljava/lang/String;) is fixed forever. I totally removed all the language code in favour of the new assets loader that minecraft has built in.
Of course, if anybody has any problems, just message me here and I will sort it out really quickly.
Yeah, this looks like a problem with only the language files. I used to use some really weird custom system for languages before and now everything is automatically loaded by Minecraft so it appears that Minecraft does not read my Unicode encoding correctly just as my older system did. Thanks for the post, this really helps me flush out the problems with the mod.

What you think about make a Barrels which will work like Ender chest?
They can be called like Limb Barrel or something else... Then make a duplicate of original Barrels, to Limb Barrels with saving original storage size:
- Limb Barrel
- Limb Ender Barrel
- Limb Quantum Barrel
How this Barrels must work...
You know mod WirelessRedstone by SlimeVoid? Need add ability for Limb Barrels (and other types of this barrels) to link between other Limb Barrels like WirelessRedstone Transmitter and WirelessRedstone Receiver by setting same ID for multiple barrels.
NOTE: If we set ID to Limb Barrel (an example: 12) and put some item in barrel (an example: Cobblestone), then we can't put in this or other Limb Barrel with same ID (in our example this is 12), item which non-cobblestone. Don't forget that! And one more things: don't forget about multiplayer, all Limb Barrels can be linked only to barrels created by current user (who places block of Limb Barrel) and ALL players, can have same id (it means: player11 can have barrel with id 12, which have cobblestone, and player855 can have barrel with id 12 too and he can place any item to this barrel if they are empty in him, his barrel can have his own ID but can't be linked to barrels with same ID of other users).
Barrels must have simple interface where we can set ID for our barrel.
Then we can add some usefull console commands (DON'T FORGET ABOUT MULTIPLAYER). /LBarrels_get - Command will return list of all registered ID by our Limb Barrels (Barrels, Ender Barrels, Quantum Barrels). /LBarrels_id - Command will return Barrel type (Limb Barrel, Limb Ender Barrel,Limb Quantum Barrel), item name (which contains in barrel with this ID), count of items in barrel, count of barrels with same ID and last thing is barrels coordinates of all barrels with same ID (X,Y,Z + dimension name or dimension Id, where barrels is placed).
For better realistic you can block command /LBarrels* (and all they variants) if player don't have special item (call them - Limb Barrels Notebook, this item will be a simple book with texture like in "Book and Quill" and contains our console commands). If player crafts special item, then all commands will work on him.

Is there a version of this for 1.8 and 1.8.9? I tried the 1.8.8 and it won't work with either. Because of some other mods I have I don't want to hop to the latest version of MC until they are updated. I had to use StorageDrawers for a while because none of the barrel mods were working, and I'm not a big fan of it. I miss my barrels! Please tell me that you have a 1.8 and 1.8.9 version stashed away somewhere!
if i have to use my own 2 hands to put it in the barrel what's the point? i'm not going to sit around all day at an automatic farm and put everything in the barrel manually smh

Names of barrels in Minecraft version 1.7.10 looks weird (selected language in Minecraft is Russian)
Maybe better use UTF-8 instead of Unicode?
P.S. Solved this manually by editing LANG file inside *.jar file.
