New Items/Progress:
Micdoodle8 recently tweeted about new Galacticraft wires. They appear to be lasers and a lot more futuristic-like. They are not final, however. If you like them or need more info on them, you can check out his post about them here: https://twitter.com/...5530496/photo/1
Thoughts:
Personally I think they should be more powerful alternatives to the wires. They can carry more energy and a lot faster, however they're much more expensive. I also think they should have a special output box on certain gadgets, making them able to power extremely powerful machines in the mod later on as wires cannot power them.
Galacticraft Ideas: Gravity Machine and Space Junk!
I always loved the gravity system in the mod. It makes it so much fun to prance around the moon and finally not fall damage from a three-block fall.
I was thinking, maybe a Gravity Machine? These could be powered with the new energy systems and control gravity. These would make a 10 to 1,000 (when you enter space in the mod) block bubble that would lure or repulse items, mobs or even meteors.
First, you need to power it. You probably know how to do this.
Then what you need to do is select a setting under the "Gravity" section. There are two settings:
Change: You can set the gravity to a certain amount. You can set it as low as 3% Gravity and as high as 200%!
Zero-G: You fly around the place freely. You tilt with W, A, S and D and you go forward by pressing spacebar, except without a certain item (maybe a jetpack?) you will not be able to go forward.
If you selected "Change", you'll be able to choose how strong the Gravity is below the Gravity section. However, this does more than you think. If you have the bubble set to at least 600 size, It will begin affecting meteors and other space junk! The higher it gets past that, the more meteors and other space junk will get affected, and strength determine whether or not they get attracted or repulsed!
Example: Strength Differences
At 3% Gravity, there is a 3% chance that a meteor will crash inside the bubble every minute and no space junk will ever fall down.
At 200% Gravity, A Meteor will crash inside the bubble every 10 seconds with space junk some where else in the bubble.
Once you've gotten your bubble and setting set up, you can now choose the size of your bubble! By default, it's 20 blocks. Note that the bigger the bubble, the more energy is being used by the machine.
Space Junk is another thing I wanted to talk about. It has a similar system of Fishing and the Gravity system. You can get items by having them fall out of the sky. Most of the time, it's junk like sticks or leather boots, but there is also a chance for it to be a mineral, like coal ore, cheese ore or other things and then there's lucky items like name tags, saddles, Slimeling eggs, diamonds and all that good stuff! Usually, Space Junk is much lighter than meteors, so don't expect a big crash into the ground that you can hear fifty blocks away, but also don't expect it just to slowly glide down (unless it's garbage like a feather).
Galacticraft thing of the Week:
Oxygen Collector! You cannot survive in other planets forever without this! It'll collect Oxygen for you to use and you can then use the oxygen it's collecting to power things like the Oxygen Bubble Distributor or the Oxygen Sealer for a healthy airlock! However, I hope you aren't leaving a Furnace next to it, you might end up breathing pollution (not really)!
Bugs:
When launching Spaceships (not Cargo Ships) with the Launch Controller, occasionally it will not work and ask you to select your planet. If you select the one you were supposed to go to, however, you will be sent to the exact spot you were supposed to, but in the original landing vehicle (landing ballons, space lander) which causes some extreme confusion.
The reason Godzilla 2014 failed was because there was no Mothra in it.
Mothra is the only reason Godzilla is good. Mothra saved the movie industry. If Mothra never existed nobody would like movies. The reason many people hate Call of Duty is because it lacks Mothra.
I changed my name to MothraFanboy27.
So I went to Mars in my Singleplayer Creative mode world (went to the Moon first). When I had landed on Mars, however, everything was black. I put on a night vision-enchanted helmet, which allowed me to see the item in my hand (only in first-person), although I was still invisible myself. At this point, the ONLY three things I can see are the item I'm holding, Potion swirls, and the fire effect from the Boots of the Meteor I'm wearing.
EDIT: I'm also almost completely surrounded by randomly placed Glowstone Torches and Launch Pads, due to not being able to see where I had placed them. Only WAILA told me where they were, and that I was in fact on Mars.
EDIT2: The moon and Mars are both now permanently black to me. Travelling to a Mystcraft Age brings back normal lighting, for that Age at least.
Travel trail:
Overworld is normal.
Travelled to Moon using Tier 1 Rocket, lighting normal.
Mars via Rocket 2, all black.
Exited to menu, then re-entered game. Still black.
Back to Moon via Rocket 2, still black.
Used Descriptive Book to enter an Age, lighting normal again.
Went to Moon from the Age with Rocket 1, all black once again.
Returned to Overworld with Rocket 1, all black for a few seconds on entry, then color resumed.
Hello! I've made a modpack with one (or more) of your mods. It's called Hekkit and its goal is to combine machinery with adventuring. The topic can be found here.
So i got FTB to start up with galacticraft installed and i created a world but whenever i travel to a planet everything is black and im just falling because it's like it can't load the planet that I am on. Anyone know what may be wrong because i really don't have any idea's...
I've previously made it to the moon and mars with no problem, but had some difficulty on the first trip in my current world.
My first trip TO the moon went finr, but coming BACK, I got stuck on the "choose dimension" screen.
I'd select "overworld", hit the "go to dimention" button - the screen would flicker and my cursor reported back to the Overworld button.
After repeating the above several times, and since I didn't have a save station or the materials on me to build one, I tried to see if it would let me return to the moon. It did-- but WITHOUT the spaceship or a landing pod (splat)
After re-spawning, I switched to creative, gave myself a pre-fueled rocket and a landing pad, and tried again-- with the exact same results as before.
Any idea what's going on here?
Edited to add: missed a step in the sequence of events. After my failed attempts to get to the overworld, my attempt to get to the moon resulted in me being stuck hanging in space, not in any planet, and I didn't seem to be landing anywhere. So I tried logging out and logging back in, and that's when I fell to the lunar surface without a landing pod. The second time, same thing, but instead of re-logging I just /tpx'ed back to the overworld.
One more oddity:
When I first placed the rocket on the landing pad to go TO the moon, I still had it in my hands too -- I tripple-checked to confim I hadn't accidentally slipped into creative somehow, but I was still in survival. So, I just cheated the "extra" rocket out of existence, shrugged, and continued with the launch.
Got an odd problem/bug that doesn't allow to play normally in survival mode. Fuel Loader is not working. I placed it next to launch pad, powered it, filled with rocket fuel, turned on, but it still doesn't load fuel to rocket - it consumes energy, but fuel simply doesn't transfer to the rocket. I tried to place fuel loader on different sides of launch pad, but it still doesn't work.
Edit: Problem solved. I think it was because of outdated version of Galacticraft.
just curious here, i'm making a resource pack for a star wars server that i'm setting up, changing textures, music and a bunch of other things to incorporate the star wars feel into minecraft and the server's using galacticraft (not a public server at all, i make no money off of it or have to pay to have it up, just something i'm running from my computer) and i was wondering, do i need permission for my resource pack to change anything with galacticraft? mainly just music as i want to add a star wars feel to mars (my brother's making a sith base there and calling it korriban ) and i wanted to make the music more sith associated. i dont plan on changing any of the textures or item names in the lang folder. if i need permission to have the resource pack edit anything in the mod then please let me know along with how i would go about getting permission. thank you.
Anyone having issues using this with HDSAC where the flag icons spam the skin server for the user's skin file infinitely?
1.6.4, GC 2.0.12.1010 and HDSAC 4.0.2
Really love the mod, curious when we might GC3 come out and/or when we'll see GC for 1.7.2. Keep up the great work and thanks for something so awesome already!
If I was ready for public use, I would have posted the link on my twitter or on the forum. Changes are still being made that could destroy worlds, so please don't use this if you expect otherwise.
Suggestion: make oxygen like standart forge liquid. For example, in geregtech we have a LOT of oxygen in fuel processing of fusion reactor. Galacticraft "Oxygen Sealer" convert this oxygen in atmosphere in moon base or other space building. "Oxygen Collector" make several liquid oxygen near leaf. And we can use standart tubes and liquid processing systems for oxygen

Sooo this is like a real deal version of galacticraft for 1.7? That while unstable is an actually somewhat playable version?

Maybe I don't know about anything else but just to let you know mic doodle I think there is a bug where everytime you log out on the space station it resets to when you first go on the station just to let you know.
Open the DragonAPI zip with 7-Zip, and delete the micdoodle8 folder.
