Interesting, I'm not sure whats going on off the top of my head because none of my test installs or beta testers experienced this. What version of forge are you using? Are the items always facing the same direction regardless of the angle of the shelves?
I WAS using Build 497, but since I cannot seem to upgrade forge without it crashing, I'm unable to test if it happens with the newest.
And it will always face to the South/East. if it is placed in any other directions, it will ALWAYS face that angle, and will always be sticking upward.

Ok, I'll do some testing and try to see if I can figure out whats going on.
What version of optifine are you using? Optifine does some strange things with rendering sometimes and I've only tested with versions B2 Ultra, and I currently am using version C3 Ultra. There was a few versions of optifine and forge that weren't compatible, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Probably the best mod i've ever downloaded. Keep up the good work!

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

From the OP... Compatibility with mods is also a concern for all blocks involved in this mod. To ease that I added several config options to easily add compatibility to many items. There is an option to add keywords for the bookcase so it may accept new types of books or even remove books that are currently accepted. There is also an option to enable/disable the addition of blank books. This is disabled by default and the reason behind this is it means that when a player sees books on a bookshelf, they know they are all useful books and not just blank books. The tool rack and weapon case also feature a similar config option so that the player may add any items they wish to these blocks.
I missed this bit before my previous post. Maybe this solves something I mentioned.
Wow, nice mod! Thats something essential, always dreamed of showcases and armorstands, but the best part - nice storage for books! Finally we can build normal library. Nuchaz, thanks for the great mod!
This mod is Amazing. I didn't have a lot of time to test it this morning, but I've already added some shelving and storage and labels to my little hole in the dirt. I do have one question, can the potion shelf just hold potions? If so, would it be possible to get a shelf like the potion shelf to hold bottled essentia? Not the jars, just the smaller bottles. I realize they won't be able to feed like the jars, I just really wanted more places to store those things.
Wow, this mod looks amazing. Such a simple and often overlooked functional and aesthetic concept. Definitely going to give it a download and try it out. As a mod user any sort of stylist storage for my vanilla and mod items is a godsend.
Hurrah! I was recently attempting to design some kind of explorer's map, where I try to get a bunch of specific items from around the game world. I've been looking for an armor stand for weeks! none that I found wanted to work right. Then, suddenly, like a chorus of angels you come and bring not only these beautiful armor stands, but bookshelves and potion racks and displays! I'm going to run out of room in the testificate's house I stole to put all of these, gonna have to make my own.
ok i tested it and liked it, the "drawers"? or mini chest does not work
btw, looks like my "boss" wants me to do items, so sorry, but will work on textures when i have free time
Ok tested it out and I must say that this works absolutely fantastic! I love how little I had to do, aside from the optifine fix, to get mod items to work with your shelves. Even items from newer mods like Ars Magica and Magical Crops fit right in without any need for messing with the config files. Well done. Though the Ars Magica armors didn't display correct but I suspect thats because they are custom? Dunno
I had problems with Risugami's shelves accepting mod items without crashing or ect, or even outright losing the items in the shelves. Not the case here. I'll definitely showcase it in my LP series.
I think perhaps this mod excites me more then it should lol. A suggestion for your mod if I may, maybe a sconce item in which you can place different lights? Like you could open up its GUI and place in say a glowstone and a tiny little glowstone will appear in the sconce and give off light? Could possiblty give an option for some nice lighting aside from torches which I hate with a passion. I know its not book related but you got so many nice storage items. I think a creative way to store lights for use for decoration would be a nice addition
This is so great. I just finished reorganizing my stuff. I love that I can add permissions using the config. Now I have portal guns and long fall boots in racks
That sounds great to me and even if it doesn't change light levels, as long as its a nice alternative to torches I'd be happy. Sconces, chandeliers, ect would be awesome though
For server support might you be able to add the ability to make bookshelves that duplicate. Obviously they should only be spawned in via creative. But the main problem I face with libraries is that if a player takes a book they do not put them back. This is a very simple addition and I hope that this mod utilizes it because I will MOST DEFINITELY use this.
