Poll: WorldGen with unique mobs is planned. What do you think?
The worldgen will include new kinds of caves/dungeons in the same fashion as Minecraft, like the mineshafts and mob dungeons. No over the top massive structures are planned. Of course, you can disable/enable them in the config.
However, the mod seems to have replaced all the vanilla mobs, is there any way to change that? I don't want to be forced to install a Mod that control spawn rates, and i don't want to be forced to uninstall this one either.
On the Forge page, it says that there is an option for this "Enable/Disable the addition of increased vanilla mob spawns", but there is no such thing.

I have found that the Travelling Merchant's offers can be quite OP, as they always have an offer that involves selling items such as carrots and bread for emeralds (Which is fair), and can also have downright ridiculous offers, such as 3 Emeralds for a Diamond, or an Emerald for 7-10 Gold or Iron Ingots; both of which make the respective items very easy to obtain, specially if made to settle with an Emerald Block.
Can you no longer ride spiders in the 1.12.2 version? I actually downloaded the mod specifically for this, because I'm putting on a Minecraft themed D&D for my son (some locations of which will be live in the game), and he tamed a spider in the story. I tamed a primitive mobs spider and grew it into an adult with fermented spider eyes. I then tried right clicking with an empty hand, shift right clicking, and clicking with a saddle and nothing worked to mount it. I didn't see anything in the config file about it being rideable or not. It's a shame, because it's a cool mod and would have worked perfectly for our purpose!
Edit: Weird. When in creative mode, if I hit "Q" to throw an item onto the ground from my inventory slot so that my hand is empty, it doesn't count as being empty-handed for the purpose of riding it. If I manually drag the item into the trash from my inventory, THEN it recognizes my hand as empty and allows me to mount. I might have to break character a bit to explain, but it'll do.
Going through the configs on my 1.7.10 and wishing I could choose which spawning pattern for each creature to follow, instead of just their spawn rates. Like, it'd be neat if Lost Miners, Mimic Chests, and Tomes spawned as creatures (only once, don't despawn). Would also be nice to specify height ranges at which they spawn, and possibly which biomes -- gimme a bit more to tweak, and especially a way to fix spawn details in Super Hostile maps (which typically overspawn underworld creatures because the ground level is much lower than the vanilla Minecraft settings).
That aside, I'm already looking forward to running into some of these guys again! Been a while since I had random tools attack me, or had to watch out in swamps so I didn't get bit.
Making me wish that I could specify which tools could Haunt me -- bring in a bunch of random Metallurgy tools, for example, or Machetes and Snow Shovels.

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
The player should be able to get a Mining Cap from the Lost Miner, either by trading, reward, or loot.
amazing mod dude!

I can't find the squirrel spawn egg.

Am I missing something perhaps?
Did you look in the config?
