There are known conflicts between Gregtech and TiC mods, most of these are due to mDiyo not wanting to support Gregtech for professional reasons. So unless you or someone else patches it, you're going to have to end up ditching one of these mods or just cheating in the necessary items.
thats why I posted, so it can be fixed, or if anyone knows if there is a fix such as a simple config change im unaware of
POTATOS ADD IT. Please make do the same thing as the potato gun from portal. Attributes, Wisdom, adds an extra modifier Extra, does the same as the potato gun except on your tinkers' tool.
im not removing gregtech, I love gregtech. I want to know how I can fix the error so that I can build tinker construct items involving glass. I dont chop off my arm if i have a splinter
I consider GregoriusT a lot like gangrene. It's disgusting and probably crawling around on my arm right now, I just can't see it creeping around because the whole point is it's a microscopic thing that skulks around. And then I let it in and everything turns green and rotten and I die without prompt emergency care.
Would I chop off my arm if it had been infected with gangrene and I couldn't receive medical care? Definitely. Is removing a Minecraft mod in any way analogous to becoming an amputee? Nope. Even TiC I can live without, given the right 'theme' of mods and resource pack. And also something to mine with besides a vanilla pickaxe.
As for a simple fix, it will be stated again, 'Remove GregTech'. If you want to keep using a sloppily coded mod that breaks things every update, that's your business. I wouldn't suggest using it with TiC. Greg has already demonstrated not only his opinions but also his willingness to break TiC. Just use one or the other. You know which I'll suggest. There are better ways to extend early game or increase the actual 'difficulty' of Minecraft.
Grey_Ghost_8765k: Well, if you know how to code you can go to github and write something better. ^^;;
ShadowDrakken: I won't be revisiting it. The block break event is not the problem here. Replacing blocks so they're a different block entirely when you mine them is.
Tinkers' Construct in 1.7 will be removing the support for IC2 tools. You can use them together if you want, but existing electric modifiers probably won't be chargable and you won't be able to make new ones.
There are four levels of support that I'm looking at right now: supported, "should run fine", unsupported, and incompatible.
- Supported mods are ones we have specific code built in for, like Thermal Expansion's RF modifier or WAILA tooltips.
- Most other mods fall into the "should run fine" category.
- Unsupported mods are ones where we won't take bug reports at all if they're installed. OptiFine and Bukkit currently fall in here, although neither of these are mods per se.
- Incompatible mods will not load together. You'll have to pick one.
To be clear: IC2 and TConstruct will run together just fine. It's in the "should run fine" category.

Welp, no more conveniently charging my tools via my advanced nano chestplate. Hopefully the Mekanism devs offer some form of power compatibility layer else I'll be filling a backpack with flux capacitors for Tico tools...
Can someone tell me how to find the ore IDs? Not the numbers, but the actual java id. As in Tconstruct.stuff.ores.copper
Trying to add our added ores to Touhou but I don't know how to find this info if it isn't in the config file. I'd rather know how to find it than just what they are as we do have more than TCon's ores, but as long as we have that much it will be fine.
Just as a heads up, here's what "You won't be able to use TConstruct and GregTech together in 1.7" really means.
You can still use them together if you really, really, really want.
PsionicArchon: We have an alternative involving tesseracts on tools planned. ^^;;
ohad: Put things in the Smeltery while it has a bit of fluid in it.
AndaleTheGreat: Touhou dolls? There's a working config in the Magic Maiden modpack, but you might be better off just getting the config itself. It supports both TConstruct and Natura.
I'm still toying with the idea of adding the mod to the pack. Do I want the easy quarrying and tree harvesting or is that too much? The dolls would perfectly complement the maids...

With all due respect, as that message currently stands it is simply a smear campaign forced on all users every time they want to play their game. We get it, you hate Greg, but for our communities sake just stop.

This still isn't working correctly, mDiyo. Mobs just sit there comfortably swimming in the smeltery regardless of the fluid level :\
Speaking of fluid level... both the meters inside the GUI are bugged as well, the lava will often not show up, while the melted metals will go completely off the top of the screen or even vanish at times :\

I agree, this is unnecessary flaming. if you want to present a warning, just put it in the chatlog and without all the ire attached.

Wow, you guys are all on it. Very active thread.
Well I have that config file, it is the default it looks like.
I'm fine with this so called "smear campaign". If a modder is making if difficult to work with him by not using the accepted methods then a little active discouragement may be in order. I think it seems a little odd for TCon to be having so much issue with it but I don't mod. Also, it is up to each modder to decide how they will treat the efforts of others to affect their own mod. If he doesn't want people dicking about with his stuff in ways he doesn't like he should be able to prevent it.
Shadow: I personally only ever got blood by killing players in mine. I am going to attempt a drop spawner over it today tho.
Also, adding tconstruct.* seems to be the thing to do for Touhou Alice Dolls. This doesn't seem to give it call to mine anything else thankfully. Didn't think of it until after I put her down by smeltery. Fine tho.
I used the S:targetBlockRegex=*. method and just put her down by some copper ore.

No. I don't care what your, or his or anyone’s opinions of other people are. Can you imagine if every time you tried running microsoft word, your computer sent a little pop up informing you that itunes was crap. This is unacceptable behaviour.
The warning is probably a bit much. I'll give it some thought and refine it; we do probably have a few weeks until Forge updates. I'm open to suggestions on what exactly the message will say. The message is necessary though, insomuch as the alternative is crashing the game. Too many people reporting bugs for a mod that isn't supported and don't realize what's going on.
I don't want to support or get bug reports from or hear anything about GregTech. This is my way of dealing with it; the alternatives are worse.

What was wrong with what you already had in the log (listing unsupported/conflicting mods)?
Bringing it up once instead of every time does sound better. So long as people are informed I don't have to pester them every time. I personally dislike chat spam, and by that time it's too late to get the user to take the mod out if they choose to.
The readme and the OP do not solve modpacks, getting mods from friends, or people who only search for the download link. You'd be surprised how aggravating some of the FTB users can be, as can the ones who think that I mod for money or professionally or what have you. I need a solution that applies to everyone, and that solution can only happen in-game.
I am getting some good feedback on this; keep them coming.
As for your message, mDiyo, I do see that having it on the splash screen works better since you don't want the two to load to the game together without warning the user. A simple message such as: "Tinker's Construct has detected the presence of Gregtech in this installation. Please be aware that there are incompatibilities between Tinker's Construct and Gregtech that may cause unexpected behaviors in your game. It is recommended that you stop now and uninstall one of the two mods. If you choose to proceed please be aware that this is unsupported." Then you have your "stop now" button and your "go ahead anyway" button and all is good. Run it just one time, and the user is informed that they're making an unsupported choice.
The only problem I see with this is multiplayer servers. How will you deal with it in that respect? Assume that players report issues on their own forums and are told this info there? Just a thought.
I have a modpack and minefactory reloaded 2.7.3 (http://www.minecraft...erores-updated/) but it is crashing with the latest Tconstruct. Anyone have any ideas? Crash says something about ModIntegration problems.
pastebin your crash dude
Likely an id number issue. I highly suggest running your game with IdFixMinus once you've got all your mods in place. Run once, then remove the mod. If multiplayer you need to copy the config folder to your clients too as these need to match.
Unfortuantly, people got angry at greg when he put messages in the forge log, so you know.
People will get angry regardless, but that doesn't excuse peevish crap like this. It's fine that mdiyo doesn't support GT/IC2/BC code, hardly anyone does anymore because of the changes they're forcing on the end user and modders. But I can't really see any difference between mDiyo putting up some "warning" message and some of the past minecraft "warning" messages.
We need to just inform the users that these mods have been known to cause incompatibilities, that is all! And maybe just go in slight detail about what the incompatibilities are. Just a heads up, we don't want people to conclude that mDiyo is just as the same as GregoriusTech. Because the original screenshot you posted was (In my opinion) like that.
Isn't that what this thread is for, or the modding help forum on this board, or literally every other avenue that isn't "hey hey, click this button?" Can you imagine anyone being okay with Mojang putting up a screen telling you that you've modified Minecraft and that experiences may vary? This is just the same as that "pumpkin of shame" BS or the "illegal modpack" screen I've posted above.

Remove GregTech. You won't be able to use TConstruct and GregTech together in 1.7 anyway.
