While trying to install a bunch of mods I downloaded, one by one through Magic Launcher, I encountered an error in TConstruct. I'm running MC 1.6.4 and Forge 9.11.1.934. It starts up and then crashes. When I check the log, it says something about missing some classes from an API I've never heard of.

It's due to the animation of every single layer of the bow, which, especially with modifiers, is quite a few. Also, TC arrows cannot be used with vanilla bows. I actually have Ars Magica installed too, just started messing with it yesterday though, well I guess I have an alternative or at the least can use vanilla bows (and arrows) if I have too. I know the arrows won't work with vanilla bows, I was basically asking if it were reasonably simple to get that to work (by altering the mod's code), or if it was more trouble than it would be worth. I'm assuming the latter or it would probably be done.

Horace- You should be able to tell pretty easily by the color, most of the different materials use a separate color, I think the closest are iron and bone. Just look in your "Materials and You" books and see which page matches your pick.

First of a big cheer for this great mod! ty for all you work mdiyo!

I have items disappearing from my knapsack. A moment ago I had like 17 inksacs and when I returned to my base I looked in the knapsack and none was there anymore?!? Same with the arcane comagnion from ars magica 2. had it in the knapsack. gone

Other things like my tools never vanished at all

no crash or something.

other weird thing is every time I start minecaft the knapsack-tab is not visible. I have to klick the armor tab and back to make

Habe not read anything in the changelog but I will try a dev-version to see if it was fixed on the way...

edit and update: crosschecked it again and again with different version of tinkers

-> always the first time I start minecraft there is no knapsack shown when I look at my inventory.
-> when I klick the top tab the knapsack tab appear
-> the item is not vanishing but changing. last time sheers into soldering iron
-> It happens only at FIRST start of a minecraft session. NOT when I load a world after that first hiccup

Missing download links fixed, apologies.

InsaneJ: Even if Greg is trying to educate authors about "proper conventions", having users submit bug reports about console spam is not the way to do it.

There are also other issues at work: the rod format was requested by ChickenBones, slime and a few others are used by MFR now, and how am I supposed to register "hambone" with any convention?

RiftPhantom: fuj1n has said that OptiFine probably doesn't like armor cast items using the block renderer. I'm going to blame OptiFine specifically for this one. ^^;;

six6igma, riv991: That... is an odd bug. There are actually blocks in there, but they shouldn't be rendering or sticking around. I'll have to do something about that.

Rassin, Dr_Frankenstein: You should be able to open up the jar and delete the IC2/waila API/plugin.

I upgraded from Tinker's 1.4.6 to the current 1.5.0d5 and noticed that I couldn't place ores into the Smeltery Controller. After tearing down the smeltery and rebuilding it, I decided to relocate the controller directly next to the Seared Tank (With 1.4.6, I had a working smeltery with a seared brick in between the seared tank and the controller). The controller now seems to work only if it is touching the seared tank.

Upon draining the liquid ore from the smeltery, there comes a graphical bug within the empty 3x3 area in the smeltery. I can see it through the seared window and I can see it while looking down into the smeltery from the open top. The smeltery is completely empty.

EDIT: I tried adding some iron ore to the smeltery even though it looks filled with those graphical glitches. Well, the smeltery controller let me put the ore in but it did not smelt even though the seared tank is full of lava.

I have graphical glitches similar to that. When I melt ores in the Smeltery, I can't pour them onto casting tables/into casting basins. I'm not sure if it's related to the graphical glitching. (TC 1.5.0_d5)

So I fixed my glitch, but I saw something funny in the console while loading.

EDIT: I lied, apparently 8gb of RAM isn't enough for 52 mods. Stupid laptop, now I can't play modded MC on my laptop. Gotta play it on my desktop.

We have lots of builds. Let's try another version as the stable - 1.4.7d7.

Dr_Frankenstein: You should never give Minecraft more than 4gb of ram. Heck, even 1gb is enough for most things, 52 mods and hi-res texture pack included. I usually give my modpack with 90 mods in it 2gb.

You're giving Minecraft too much ram, not too little.

I changed the parameters in Magic Launcher so it has minimum 1gb and maximum 2gb, and it still runs out of memory when loading up a world.

You should probably be a assigning less RAM and more premgen space. Mine runs 104 mods (by internal count) with no problem on 2 gigs.

How exactly do I assign more permgen space? I've looked it up and I've found multiple different methods and I'm not sure which one is right. Also, what would you recommend I set it to?

Agreed, If I had knows it was a message generated by Gregtech I would have submitted the lines to him instead. He wants to educate people, then he should do it himself and not try to trick others into doing it for him.

It makes sense to add new prefixes to the ore dictionary as mods progress. Rod and slime are valid when they are used for more then a handful of items, which they are.

I still don't know what the hambone is for. It's not food as far as I can tell so I'm guessing it's a miscellaneous material. If that's the case I'd suggest: materialHambone
If it is a food though, then I'd suggest: foodHambone

I think the cutlass is supposed to be a cross between the Longsword and the Broadsword. Broadsword has blocking ability, while the longsword allows you to leap forward. The cutlass has the block ability with the added benefit of giving you a speed boost when you get hit, giving you more agility if used properly. The cutlass has also been shown to have a natural crit chance, no jumping required.

I am having an issue with the longsword's charge ability. Sometimes my wife or I get locked into constantly generating sprint particles. I considered it a minor graphical issue during 1.5, but I have since discovered a problem (now 1.6.4_1.4.6d1): this particle effect is apparently enough to make IC2 think I'm sprinting and sprinting over plants placed in IC2's crops causes them to pop and the farmland to become un-tilled.

This is actually serious enough that I can't do anything in my garden anymore (edit: without relogging).

Edit: Relogging seems to fix it until it occurs again. Also, the sprint particles cannot be seen by the player locked into sprint mode; another player must observe it.
