The only difference between registering block IDs and item IDs is that item IDs are shifted by +256 (so, if you tell it an ID of 10000, it will actually use an ID of 10256). I'm not entirely sure why it does this, but it is a vanilla feature so cannot be stopped.

Because, in my opinion, it's overpowered and silly. Why would moss fix anything? It'd only rust it.
In my server, I just tied a command block to a redstone clock, so it runs /clear @a <id of the moss ball>.
Good thing this can't be automated.
Also, since I'm here, here's a bug: if you access a Crafting Station's slots using an Item Router from Factorization, you can duplicate any item that has a crafting recipe.
Why say its silly? In TiC, you can melt obsidian to a liquid that isn't lava, and have living slime that forms off of flying islands in the sky. Saying it's silly is just ridiculous.

I may or may not play GT. I also might be playing it with TiC. Some Metallurgy and ExtraTiC could be in the mix too. I might have also dropped in some TE as well. Some AE and BC could possibly be on the list. And I maybe- just maybe - there's NEI to assist in short-term memory loss that I may or may not have.
Hrm. Smelteries seem to be having issues in the current dev build. The "drop items in the smeltery" feature is not working. Then, if you place the ores in via the interface, you have to hold the interface open. If you close the interface and re-open it, the items' icons are missing and the progress bars blink on and off. Finally, once smelting is completed (by holding the interface open), the liquid metal doesn't render correctly.
Same issue as above. Appears to be a null pointer issue in the render library, relevant crashdump below.
If you wait it will start actually rendering the blocks inside, but it will render the wrong block (Copper appeared to be apitate) but will result in the proper material. When you attempt to pour however, it crashes the game.

I have tinker and dartcraft installed (and a bunch more) and I cant start dartcraft because every time I'm trying to make force stick (2 force log on top of each other in crafting grid), it make as if I'm crafting a oak barricade.
Any way to fix that without downloading another mod to block the recipe?
After some little testing, i found that the faucet crash for me, is coming direclty from the casting table while it has a cast or something inside to create a cast?
Making a blank cast does not crash the game, but making a cast for a tool piece does.
Might this be to the cast not having a "name" like it usally does but having it like it shows in the code(item.tconstruct.metalpattern."itemhere".name)?
I'm sure this has been mentioned by now, but I'll leave a note just in case. Any pattern I create has an "item." name instead of just "Tool Rod" as it should be on the newest dev version.

Either use force planks rather than logs, or update DartCraft THEN use planks, depending on how old your current version of DartCraft is. That recipe was changed specifically because of the introduction of barricades.
how does one make a hammer/multi tinkersconstruct tool?

has there been a fix on the essence extractor for 1.5.2 where u can just keep using the xp currently running a server with ars magica and can keep getting levels in the arcane empowerment table
Do you think you could add compatibility with thaumcraft where it deactivates the recipes for Copper, Tin, and Iron nuggets for this mod and it uses the Nuggets from thaumcraft instead? Thaumcraft shares the recipe for the nuggets as this mod does and I think that the recipe with cause some problems and It's also weird how there are two different copper, tin, and iron nuggets.

Forever protecting Hyrule with the power of the Master Sword, DragonMaster16.
Back from a birthday party. Oh the booze... never again will I visit a "party" where "drinking" is the only "entertainment".
And holy wtf, when did this many people post while I was away?! I do appreciate all the feedback, and progress should continue soon.
For note: Repairs are getting looked at sometime soon. They're more tedious than they need to be.
BakuMinerGuy: There's a fair bit about the Smeltery that's broken. Assume nothing is as intended.
Cuppcakeking: Yes, there is a reason for that piston.
FatBobTheSlob: And what happens when you try to mine over an edge? I don't want to replace the lower-tier tools, let alone make the higher-tier ones useless when sneaking.
VapourDrive: I have a different take on game design than a lot of modders do. We have a fantasy setting, nothing needs to make sense! I reject your reality and substitute it with pasta!
ArcaneFlash1: The seed is also affected by what other mods have done with the random function. If they don't always use the random function based on random data, it can get more random than expected.
Pedro46: You cannot disable moss, which is quite underpowered anyway. It repairs with the power of moss, do not question my pasta logic!
Azurin_White: The Smeltery is a large tank. There's no real reason to store liquid metal as such; make it ingots.
Rassin: Item IDs are +256.
RobinVerhulstZ: You need a Tool Forge instead of a Tool Station.

The ore dictionary is an integral part of Forge. At its ideal, it makes all types of e.g. copper equivalent to one another - all copper ingots can be substituted in recipes, a recipe that wants any type of wood will accept modded woods, and so on.
If Thaumcraft is only accepting its own nuggets, that would be Thaumcraft's failure to use the ore dictionary. If it accepts copper nuggets from most mods but there's one in particular that doesn't work, then the problem might lie with the one that doesn't work.
The short version of this is that your different types of copper should all work in recipes. If they don't, it's possible that it's a ThaumCraft problem, not the source of the other nuggets.

I'll see if I can use TConstruct copper to craft A Thaumcraft Item.

Any way to fix that without downloading another mod to block the recipe?
edit: derp dont answer I have found the solution
Making a blank cast does not crash the game, but making a cast for a tool piece does.
Might this be to the cast not having a "name" like it usally does but having it like it shows in the code(item.tconstruct.metalpattern."itemhere".name)?

RobinVerhulstZ: You need a Tool Forge instead of a Tool Station.
rlsims83: 1.5.2 bug reports go here.
DragonMaster16: That's the point of the ore dictionary.
SalvageCorrevtteCo: Tools work based on their material. Hammers mine stone, excavators mine dirt, etc
Ore Dictionary? Where do I use that or get it?
Forever protecting Hyrule with the power of the Master Sword, DragonMaster16.
Edit: Checked it. It does work.
