Also, I noticed that the Lantern block ID doesn't follow what's defined in the config (AKA the lantern block stays at 202, not what I put in the config).
do you think about giving a bit more light to the lantern because the torches seem to be overpowered against to it.
Well, the lantern is mostly for carrying around, which gives it significant advantage over torch, so the light level is a bit smaller to compensate it.

I already took a look at such mods, but I found only one working which is outdated (about 1.0). Unfortunatelly this feature is very difficult to make and it would require rewriting several base classes.

That is weird, what did you put there? It must be below 256. I just tried it now and it works fine when I put 201 in the config file.
When the lantern is placed on top of the block, the lantern sits on the block. When the lantern is placed under the block, the lantern will hang from there. The lantern will be rotated towards you when you place it.
I'm considering rewriting this mod to Forge, so I can add SMP support. I hope many people won't mind this change.
I use Forge predominately in my own "mod loadout," so this mod changing to Forge won't be a big change for me. And besides, all of the best mods use Forge now.

This mod will be perfect if you can add in the config file an option for modifying the intensity of the light of the lantern when it is held ( optional because i' m using dinamics lights from atomic stryker ) and when it is putted on the ground or on ceiling ( because torches are much more efficient when used in this case )
Because i had stated that torches are in their " ember " state when held , so they not emit much light , they are at their maximum only when putted on walls.
IRL, torches are less efficient than a lantern : i have such a lantern ( a pressurized one ) , it emits like 400 Watts of light when used.
In the mod an option in the config file will suit all players needs .

1.5 Version is out! But this one is only for Forge, not for ModLoader. I would like if someone could tell if it works using LAN and SMP ModLoader version may come later
I'm really liking this mod it makes my house and my mines look so much better, but is it possible to change the glowstone to something more realistic, something like lamp oil. Just a suggestion.
