As dumb as I thought this idea was, it actually looks rather interesting and useful.
Thank's, I was looking around for a usefull apple mod, but could not find one that had it the way I was hopping for. So I made this to satisfy my needs XD
I'm gonna be honest and say a lot of this mod is pointless and a bit stupid Although some of the ideas you have are good and interesting, others are just pointless/take up block IDs. I'll start with the meat nuggets. Pointless, because you break it up into little pieces to add onto an apple, and you go from six total hunger 'hearts' if you will-to maybe 2.5. Complete waste. Diamond ingots are also pointless, because an attempt to cook a diamond in a furnace=a really hot diamond. You should just allow diamonds to be broken up into nuggets as they are. Same applies to emeralds. I also think most of the apples that give negative effects are pointless; who would want to use those? I suppose the poison apple could be an exception.
Also, I do have a more constructive idea regarding the chains. The current recipe is too expensive; you can make chain armor, but it's weaker than iron and costs more iron XD You should instead do it with iron nuggets; then it costs less, protects less, and is more proportional seeing that it shouldn't take four ingots to make a single chain XD An alternative could be making chains stackable, if they aren't already, and having four iron ingots make multiple chains. That's all I've got for you at the moment
Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/

I respect your opinion, thanks for the feedback
Now, about some of the stuff you said. I know some of the stuff is pointless, but it's silly and I had fun making the mod XD also, I know I messed up on the chain recipe, I was rushing that update out so the mod would be 1.5 and I am planing on fixing the chain recipe so that it's renamed to "chain ring" and you will get 4 chain rings instead of 1. Anyway I don't know if I should make meat apples give 6 hunger bar, it seems a little op, just in my opinion.
For anyone who looks at this mod, I will be updating it soon, I know I am very late, but I have been busy with other projects, and learning the code for Forge. So hang tight
EDIT: Placed in spoilers for convenience, I don't want to take up the whole page
I have an interesting idea. I think it will balance out some aspects of the mod regarding meat nuggets. Isn't it interesting how with this mod, you can get more out of a single, uncooked steak than a cooked one? Just break the uncooked steak into nuggets, at with each healing 1/2, it adds up to 4+1/2 instead of the 4 after cooking one. (The effect is even more ridiculous with an uncooked chicken)
My suggestion is:
1. Have the meat break up into eight nuggets. Make the recipes to 'rebuild' the meat be eight nuggets on the outside, or just shapeless. Now you won't have spare nuggets lying around either, because they will perfectly go around the apple. With chicken, six nuggets. Make the chicken-meat apple recipe be shapeless or maybe meat in four corners, top and bottom. Raw nuggets will be edible, but will nave no filling effect (Exclude dogs?) It will also fit in with my next suggestion:
2. Have the meat apples heal six(Five with chicken) hearts, because that would have been how much you got from a separate steak(chicken) and an apple. (Not OP) Be sure to combine the saturation or at least give the saturation value the meat had.
Okay, now some new ideas, you might like these more than plain criticism
Fishy apples:
First, the fish(y?) apple. This would be made by surrounding(or having a shapeless recipe) an apple with (raw) fish nuggets. Four corners and the bottom. Fish nuggets could be raw or cooked, and it's five per fish. Raw heal nothing but cooked heal 1/5. Fish apple can either be raw or cooked, raw healing three hunger 'hearts' and cooked healing 4+1/2 hunger 'hearts'. Raw fish(y?) apples could be cooked into, well, cooked ones.
Sticks:
Next suggestion is to involve sticks in an existing or new recipe. My thought was to simply add a stick to the bottom of the sugar-apple for a bit a of realism, because you would probably want to eat a sugar-covered apple with a stick. If you're creative enough, I bet you could even make the stick stay after you eat the apple, too.
Caramel apples:
Going off of my last suggestion made me think of a new apple! It would be the caramel apple (And would be on a stick, see my last suggestion). Caramel would be made by cooking sugar. Make caramel alone heal 1/2.The caramel by itself would look like a little brown cube. Then, the recipe for the caramel apple would be five caramel on top of the apple (Like a helmet or the sugar apple recipe) and a stick under the apple. If possible, make the stick remain after the apple is eaten. The whole apple will heal 4+1/2 hunger, and would have a bit more saturation than a regular apple. You may even get more creative and decide to stick more goodies on the sticky, caramel apple. Not that the stickiness makes a difference because you can compress diamonds with your bare hands in this game ^^" Also, if you go with the 'apple on a stick' idea, I'd recommend making the apples on sticks have 32x textures, so you have more room to work with.
Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/

Well, that's it-hope you like what I've suggested
Wow that was a long post Anyways, i'm glad you gave the mod a seconded look with a fresh mind and some suggestions, I appreciate that
As for some of your suggestions;
1.) The 8 nuggets instead of 9 would be a nice fix up
2.) Adding saturation and health together is a sure thing
3.) I purposely did not add fish apples as a little tribute for a friend
4.) I had a thought about adding sticks into some recipes, but never got to adding that as I have other important features I wanted to add (new biome, more mobs, more apple related foods)
5.) I had an idea for caramel covered apples and candy apples eventually as I do have the textures made, but you put a new spin on the idea
In all, I may just have to add some of this stuff when I finish switching the code from modloader to forge, although it is taking longer to finish, as I was almost done switching the code over, then it got corrupt and I had to redo everything.
Quick update
At this time I have been taking a little brake from working on the mod to make a wiki page for it, on the wiki, you will be able to find news, downloads, and information on anything on the mob written by myself. Although it is not complete, it's nice to let everyone know it's there.

Heh, quick thought if you go with my caramel idea; you might consider using the button model for the little caramel cubes. It'd be perfect. The problem with that would be that it'd look strange with the rest of the food items that are in 2D.

Quick Update #4
I've been working nonstop on updating the mod to 1.6.4 Forge for the past week, yesterday I completed around 20 new textures for items, blocks, & tools for the next & future updates. Expect the mod to be updated sometime soon
Hey all, it's been about a year and six months since I first made this mod in Modloader and I would like to say a few things,
1) Thanks for all the support and reviews I've revived, I watch every single one of them and enjoy the feedback
2) I've been away for six months (since I haven't had internet at my house) and all I have to say is wow, the total downloads in that time frame went from 700, to over 4000! That's crazy
3) Now for the main reason for this update... I finally did it... I finally updated/ rewrote the whole mod to work with Forge 1.6.4! It was hard work since it broke on me a few times, but I got it done and that's all the matters. My next goal is to fix bugs then update to 1.7, now then, onto the long change log.

Updates are good, but one criticism... Emerald tools? Isn't that a little irrelevant to a mod about apples? Moreover, there is quite a number of mods already that implement emerald tools - what makes(or could make) your variants special?

Wow! An Apple mod that isn't cheaply made, and it actually adds mobs!
Yeah, I liked it until I read "Swag Apple". Then I reread the entire thing to ensure it was worth installing.
I actually enjoyed the mod and it's mobs. The one thing I didn't like about it is that it doesn't add anything to do with the Apples other than eat them. I'd suggest an Apple Chest - if you put an item inside of it, it'll eventually turn into a red apple (rarely a Golden One) and depending on how valuable the item is, the quicker it'll turn into an apple and the chance of becoming a Golden Apple will be higher. You can upgrade it to be turn your item into other apples in this mod, like a Glass Apple Chest.
Another thing I'd like to see is an Apple Cannon. Once people know the difference between a real apple and a Poison Apple, they will never touch the Poison Apple. Why not force it down their throat in the form of a cannon? That'd be pretty cool if you ask me.
I also have two other requests: Apple Blocks and an Apple Mob for each and every Apple in the mod. Why?
The Apple Transformer!
No longer will you have to hunt for your Apples in trees or across the landscape! All you need to do is craft the Apple Transformer out of six Iron Blocks, the Apple Block of your choice and two Glass Panes on the left and right of your Apple Block! Then find a victim - your best friend will do quite nicely. Pull back the Apple Transformer like a bow, wait 1.5 seconds and then BAM! Out comes a giant beacon laser thingy for as long as you keep the Apple Transformer pulled back! When your friend gets hit by it, he'll take three hearts of damage and get Slowness 5 for two seconds (so basically he gets paralyzed). When you kill your friend, he'll turn into an Apple Mob!
Just don't decide to turn him into a Poison Apple. That wouldn't be quite smart.
Also; thank you for updating this mod. I wouldn't have found it if you hadn't!

The reason Godzilla 2014 failed was because there was no Mothra in it.
Mothra is the only reason Godzilla is good. Mothra saved the movie industry. If Mothra never existed nobody would like movies. The reason many people hate Call of Duty is because it lacks Mothra.
I changed my name to MothraFanboy27.
