isn't there an easier way to do this already coded into minecraft in the form of '/gamerule firespread false', or whatever the middle part is ? not entirely sure why you needed to make a mod to do this, but i suppose thats one way of doing it.

This is True, but the one time you forget to type that in, is the one you'll regret. This is an addon mainly for Creative. Many maps used on servers will self distruct in Single player . Another scenerio, someone uses your computer and doesn't know you have built using Fire and Ice blocks, everything in your map will be ruined.
Simply, these mods hardcode into the game that Ice and Fire are Decoration only and cause 0 damage
Guys, you are correct, on a per game instance you can type this in. But if anyone else gets hold of your computer, they will not know to type the /gamerule. This is a hardcoded mod that will avoid accidents. the mod works in much the same way worldguard handles fire and ice blocks on a server. In combination with Magiclauncher you could create profiles with and without the mods. There is no need to put these mods into the minecraft.jar anymore. If you load up server maps , this is a must to have installed.

Is there anyways to get it working with the shaders mod? Because the shaders mod requires forge, and when i drag and drop the .class file into the .jar, forge spews out lots of errors
There is no need to modify the jar anymore and installation is easier than ever. the mods can be added using one of the many launchers. You can find out more about adding mods in the appropriate launcher forum.

I've answered this before, Until they have a wrapper for world-guard these are the only blocks i will concern myself with, there is someone already maintaining a TNT mod. . I play on servers and the destructive blocks are disabled by world-guard. but a lot of players will add fire lava ice TNT, to destroy those builds if you remove them from the server. even before you typed that cmd its to late
PS. So are you telling me that I should abandon maintaining these mods, because if you are I have better things to do. Please leave your thoughts. I'll consider your opinions before I update.
I'll check and see if i still have the 1.47
Enjoy

Does the mod live or die?
