Hey guys ! I just installed a fresh copy of craftbukkit 1.7.9 R0.1 which came out recently (today ?) and then proceeded to install Dynmap, and I just see a black world instead of the map when visiting the :8123 IP (The rest of the UI is fine tho). Is this a known issue ?
Thanks
EDIT: After issuing a /dynmap render world, the display is working partially (some tiles show up, others don't)
Without bridge, there is no way to access the security settings, so any command that doesn't default to being public is limited to operators (so your players not being able to use /dmarker is quite expected and unavoidable, without using the forge-specific permissioons file stuff (permissions.yml)).
With the bridge, we defer to getting messages to send to web chat from the Bukkit-based chat messages - which are cancellable by Bukkit mods. We need to respect that to avoid sending messages that bukkit plugins have chosen to block (e.g. muting in Essentials) or restrict (specific channels in Factions or Towny or the like). Without the bridge, we get chat events 'raw' from forge, and cannot respect such actions by Bukkit plugins (for better or worse). Some plugins that manipulate chat messages do so by cancelling the normal message, and then sending text to the 'right' players themselves - these guys break us, with little that we can do to fix it. For example, Factions does this if relationship color coding is on (as the message needs to be 'tailored' for each recipient, versus being a common broadcast), but can be fixed by disabling the relationship coloring option.
I've been wanting to do a Forge version of my Dynmap-Mobs mod, which would allow for supporting mapping of generic entities (which could then be configured to handle Mo'Creatures mobs) - just haven't had the time.

You probably forgot to change the maps resolution to the same as you used before. If you used lowres and changed to hires for example the old map doesn't show.

That does sound like quite some work there. Can't really understand where you get the energi to keep adding things.
I didn't mean entities thought, I'm more than satisfied with showing the blocks in the world. That's what I was refering to since dynmap doesn't show the blocks from Mo's Creatures with make the wyvern dimension only show the portal building (since that's made of quartz).
so, the question is: Why blocks bukkit the web chat right?
My plugin folder is quite empty at the moment, only the bridge is in there. I never used bukkit before but want to have the advantages of mcpc+ which saves resources.
There would be the way to install Bukkit Essentials and use this configs to allow the web chat and other commands bukkit is blocking at the moment?!
My main problem is that I don't understand this permissions.yml what was created in server folder when I started mcpc+ the first time.I read that I have to add nodes which should be allowed ingame, but this did not work .

Ah - actually didn't realize Mo'Creatures had added blocks: that should be simpler to do, as you say
You need a plugin to handle the permissions. There is a bunch of them. I use Group Manager atm. Works fine.
Yeah, I think its time to test Group Manager or Essentials this weekend. Can Group Manager also repair the dynmap webchat functionality if I set the permissions correctly?
Is it possible to add an config option to use another service for the Player Heads on the dynmap? I would like to get them from http://cravatar.eu/ to use the 3D-Heads.
Thanks
Not presently, unless the skin files are the same format as standard ones: if they are, you can change the skin-url setting. Otherwise, you CAN put the files you want used in the <tilespath>/faces/32x32 directory, and set the 'fetchskins' setting to false (setting fetchskins to false blocks normal loading of skins). I will consider the option to have the images used be optionally an unprocessed version of the image loaded via the URL (so that something like the 3D ones you see on that URL you provided) might be usable.

Chat from the game showing up in bubbles on the map should work with the right permissions.
Chat from the map to the game on the other hand didn't work for me so I changed the setting "allowchat: true" to "allowchat: false" in the config to remove the chatbox on the map (since it didn't work anyway).
Instead of removing the box it stayed and the chat now works. Strange.

I installed GroupManager today and it runs smoothly. All missing commands for normal players are restored an I am happy . So, the last missing piece is the webchat.
Be aware that there is a: allowchat: true and allowwebchat: true in the configuration.txt.
allowwebchat enables or disables the webchat box.... but I´ve no idea what allowchat does. If I switch allowchat to false nothing really changes and the webchat still do not show up ingame.

I need to see the configuration to actually figure out what is what and I'm not at my computer atm. Will check this when I come home if Mike haven't answered this before that.
I feel I've been away from the forums far to long. What tool?
If it's mentioned on the first page of the forum you can just ignore this question since I'm heading there now. Just hard checking the forum on the phone so thought I'd ask while I'm here
Never mind. Found it. Going to try it out when I get home.

I manage the files for a server and I installed this to the server (Mc server 1.6.4 running Pixelmon) and it all works and everything, but when I try to go look at the map it loads the map for a different server. The server that I installed it on the ip is "198.24.167.194:46645 and when I add :8123 to the end it doesnt work, but when i remove the :46645 and then add the :8123 it works, but loads a different server. We have a subdomain and when I use it to connect it doesn't work either.

You are most likely on a box hosted by a Game Server provider with other people running minecraft as well as dynmap. In the dynmap config look for
# The TCP-port the webserver will listen on.
webserver-port: 8123
you can bind that to another open port (which you can ask your provider) then type your server ip:port to go to your map. You'll then need to fullrender
# The network-interface the webserver will bind to (0.0.0.0 for all interfaces, 127.0.0.1 for only local access).
# If not set, uses same setting as server in server.properties (or 0.0.0.0 if not specified)
webserver-bindaddress:
you can also bind the map to your server ip, I would recommend doing both.
I've got a fix in the 2.0.0 dev build - be careful, though, 2.0.0 has a lot of lightly tested changes (still a couple weeks of work left before it'll be ready for release). I'm planning on sweeping the fixes back into a 1.9.5 release in the next day or so.
As with SilentDragonK, we have issues with Dynmap when trying to have it use a Resource Pack. Ours is different though in that it renders but has issues with some of our mod blocks.
We are using the Forge version 1.9.4.1 of Dynmap, MC 1.7.2, and our map ignores any resource packs we try to attach to it. It renders everything as expected, except those blocks it does not recognize and makes them black in 2D and nothing in 3D. We use the SoartexFanver resource pack, which does support the mods we have but it still doesn't display anything.
So, assuming we're just being stupid on our end, what do we do to make a resource pack work? Or at least point me to the walkthrough/tutorial how to use it with MC 1.7.2 so we can be sure we set everything up properly so this isn't just a derp effect. I hate those... and yet they keep happening to me... why is that?
I tried to install Dynmap-1.9.4.1-forge-10.12.0 on my Minecraft server running under Ubuntu with the TerraFirmaCrate mod. I followed the direction of just copying the Dynmap jar file to the mods folder and restarting the Minecraft server.
This is the crash report that I received:

1.9.4.1 is for Forge 10.12.0 (MC 1.7.2) - you are running a 1.6.4 server. Use Dynmap-1.9.4-forge.9.11.1.jar
is there someway that dynmap could use the textures that are already provided for the blocks with the mod that adds them?
i understand, at the least, it would probably break the current maps though as from what i understand that's not done, because it needs to be converted or resized?
but it could default to off for people who want to or prefer the existing maps they have.
also, is there not a config or something to fix the issue with dynmap still showing the last map's render data behind the current one?
like this?
it's useful, but it's also so ugly like this with the remnants left behind. http://imgur.com/2FGvDnm
maybe dynmap cannot detect when the world is deleted, or when a new one is started?
it seems pretty common sense that it should start with a clean slate to draw on each time, it's never worked that way for me though and to make it worse the files that need to be manually deleted are scattered around the folders for the mod to completely remove it.
can't it create a sub-folder for a new world? so that way at least all of the files you have to delete would be in the same place.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
Thanks

This is the crash report that I received:

1.9.4.1 is for Forge 10.12.0 (MC 1.7.2) - you are running a 1.6.4 server. Use Dynmap-1.9.4-forge.9.11.1.jar
Mines at a higher angle and not as detailed.
i understand, at the least, it would probably break the current maps though as from what i understand that's not done, because it needs to be converted or resized?
but it could default to off for people who want to or prefer the existing maps they have.
also, is there not a config or something to fix the issue with dynmap still showing the last map's render data behind the current one?
like this?
it's useful, but it's also so ugly like this with the remnants left behind.

maybe dynmap cannot detect when the world is deleted, or when a new one is started?
it seems pretty common sense that it should start with a clean slate to draw on each time, it's never worked that way for me though and to make it worse the files that need to be manually deleted are scattered around the folders for the mod to completely remove it.
can't it create a sub-folder for a new world? so that way at least all of the files you have to delete would be in the same place.
24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.
(an ode to minecraft modding)
i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
