I wouldn't mind so much that he is putting out a pre release of EE3 if EE2 was complete and was downloadable from anywhere at all. Seriously, it seems like every link that should go to EE2 leads to EE3 instead. Its pretty annoying. The least he could do is provide the source code for EE2 so other people can work on finishing it up. Or at least get it usable in other versions besides the buggy 1.2.5 release. I was hoping to be able to play EE2 on the more stable 1.6 release at some time in my life. Also, I really liked all the stuff that was in EE2. You would think that EE3 would be an upgrade to EE2, not a completely different mod. Yea the dark and red matter tools were very OP but they were also really hard to craft. So the amount of work put in to get them justified the high power of them. And then the rings were very useful too. Most of all the Swiftwolf ring. The sheer amount of amazing things that could be done in EE2 was incredible, and then they were all removed in EE3. Not exactly a step forward if you ask me. :/

We've been through this a million times, and though I will try to answer your question now, Wliu will probably answer it again anyway in a very sarcastic way.
To keep things short, Pahimar and Xenophobe both decided that EE2 was too powerful, too easy, not fit for common play, etc. It was the opinion of the original creator and the new one that it had to be reworked entirely to be made into a mod that was useful but not synonymous with creative mode.
Just try to look on the bright side. You've found this and became passionate enough about it to make a post relatively near the end of EE3's useless cycle. Things are ramping up for the first time in months. So get hyped!

It was definitely nice to see Pahimar so excited about more content for this at minecon,
I'd also like to give a shout-out to the people who have been constantly getting his new builds out =)

1. ? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1106178-125-equivalent-exchange-2-v1467/ Just google EE2...
2. You must be using Bing, it never gives you what you want unless you search for Google.
3. Yeah, not happening, it's been discussed a million and one times, you'll get over it.
4. Well keep hoping.
5. It's not a COMPLETELY different mod, not everything is implemented yet!
6. This is me getting the Gem Armor in three hours. The video is 46 minutes long, sorry about the quality, but you should check it out.
7. It isn't done yet ya dimwit.
8. Well thanks for the completely useless criticism.
Sorry for getting that one Wliu, but this guy's attitude was crap.
Just to make clear to everyone (except for the constant posters on this thread, sourpowerpete, wilu etc)
1. EE3 is not done. Far from done.
2. No condensers, maybe similar device (Said in Minecon).
3. Pahimar is always working, he's a non-stop coder.
4. EE2 is finished, and depreciated.
5. EE3 will Definately and hopefully be a totally non-OP mod.
6. There will be more addons available for the EE3 instead just 1 Addon for the EE3 (It is on a Japanese forum!).
7. Get hyped as madrauk said.
8. Don't pester Pahimar or the build compilers, they have lives.

Can I/someone I know update EE2 for you? EE2 is a closed source mod, and as such only x3n0ph0b3 (the original author) can grant people the right to maintain/update it. Only myself and x3n0ph0b3 can update EE2, and neither of us are going to do so at this time (and this is unlikely to change in the future). EE3 was meant to be a clean break from EE2.
4) Nice to know.
5)
...EE3 was meant to be a clean break from EE2.
Taken from the above spoiler, which happens to be in the EAQ.
6) Not going to answer this since I didn't play EE2.
7) Who said rings went poof in EE3?
8) Ask others.
Read the title of the thread you posted in. In case you somehow missed it, it says "Equivalent Exchange 3 - pre1h". It's in a pre-release state, meaning that not all, or even most of the mod's main ideas have been implemented yet. It's okay to be sad that a good mod is no longer being developed, but it's not alright to assume that its successor is going to be worse when it's still in early/mid(?) development. Dynamic EMC is something that's going to make EE3 so much better than EE2, and once Dynamic EMC is finished, that's when Pahimar's probably going to be getting into some of the items/concepts that many people knew and loved from EE2.
Tbh, I like EE3 how it is now. Being able to create things from other things made you not need 20 different crazy farms but only one big one. Right now it is useful, but can't be used for anything but say, converting dyes, or making sandstone from iron in small quantities.
I remember when 1000mB of water was the same as a cobblestone block... Well, you still had to jump through some hoops to get it in a bucket but you could turn cobble and a bucket into a bucket of water. And it was fun. I'd still like to see some way to make lava infinite but not THAT powerfully...
Also I'm hoping people aren't seriously saying cobblestone shouldn't have an EMC value either seeing as it's infinite.

If you are satisfied and do what you feel you must do, no matter what that is... then you have reached perfection. -Metamoq, Corwid of the Free
It shouldn't. Water is infinite, why make it have a value?
So, if your plan was just to plain out agree with him..., you could have just dropped him a rep point???...
I do agree completely though. It would just become a test to see who can make the biggest setup of aqueous extruders =P
So, there seems to be an EE3 version floating around that works for 1.6.4 . I found it in the "Overload" pack of ATLauncher, and the file is ee3-universal-pre2-9.jar .
I was able to make a Minium stone, but it doesn't work at all. I get the white highlight on blocks when I have it on my hotbar, the red circle appears at the bottom-right corner and everything... But right-clicking never does anything, the G key doesn't do anything, the red circle remains empty. Crafting recipes don't work either.
I've always been happy with EE3's ability to convert wood logs into obsidian - in fact, I don't think I've ever mined obsidian since I've discovered that recipe - and I was sad that there wasn't any version of it for 1.6... I guess finding this thing was false hope
So I guess my question is: is there a version of EE3 that works with 1.6.4?

That's only if he can stop himself from flipping tables.

"Comments to know where to pick up. Man this stuff is annoying."
New build!
"support for Custom Wrapped Stacks with encoded string parameters"
No idea what that means. Good stuff!

Yes, I have the most recent version.

If you managed to catch the dev build, how in the world did you manage to miss the reason why the stone doesn't work? Anyways, it's disabled due to dynEMC testing. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1792060-16xforge-equivalency-tinker-to-your-hearts-content-with-alchemy/ download this mod along with the EE3 1.6.4 version found there.
