Hi I gotta say, thanks for the amazing mod its deffo the best minecraft mod ive played so far.
I had evolve running earlier with 2 other people connected to LAN and it was working fine for all 3 of us. Anyone know of a better program for doing this with as it was really lagging sometimes for the others?
I've got a couple questions though as there's a couple small things bugging me.
How do i craft Iron wall vents and iron bricks? I cant find a recipe for them and i don't use creative. Get that one recipe mod by Risugami, I think it's called Recipe Book. Risugami is the same person who makes ModLoader. It will show you all possible recipes, until I can post the proper recipes on this thread.
Also about the hive resin. What blocks does it consume and how far does it reach? It consumes dirt and stone, it will just continue to grow.
How do i stop it spreading without disabling in config as i want to create a hive area while containing it? Me and a friend even set up a glass enclosure 10Wx10Lx5H 1 block thick with 1 layer of stone in the bottom, we placed a hive resin block in the middle and it consumed all the stone then spread outside the glass enclosure (not consuming the glass though) we went nuts trying to stop it. You would have to put glass under the hive resin as well as around it.
Any help would be great and a massive thanks again for an awesome mod.
Correct me if I'm wrong but are combi sticks titled titanium spears. If you have updated this or whatever please dont penalise me as I haven't been on the forums for a little while. Love the update and sorry for any spelling mistakes.
Also, people have been saying that we will not beable to become aliens or predators because the mod wont be compatible. To me this mod is too amazing to be held back by compatibility issues. I know this is a stupid suggestion(because it consumes time), but maybe having a compatible and non compatible version of the mod could settle the issue. One more stupid thing: are block ids gonna change anymore because I'm thinking of doing an adventure map(possibly based on the AvP game). Last stupid thing of the day, can you possibly add weylnd yutani picture/signs and possibly colony lifts. I actually said that eventually you would be able to become an alien or predator, just not in the same way as people are thinking. Over time I add new blocks, and those were in a list of things to do.
i know i said that i wouldnt post any stupid things but i dont think this is a stupid idea: could it be possible that if you do do a teleport that you can have colonies spawn (the same way villages do in normal minecraft) with the atmosphere generator thingy in it as well (from alien 2). or maybe just replace villages with colonies, but they need to be big like the ones in the movies. I am working on creating a dimension.
Thanks for answering my questions but we did have a glass layer at the bottom and it spread through it, as in skipped the glass and consumed the grass below it, there wasn't any gaps in it at all it jumped straight through.
I have NEI installed atm for the recipes ingame and it doesn't show anything for them, I will try recipe book and see if that helps.

Try something other than glass, glass has some weird properties... it lets redstone pass through it so it might let the resign pass through it as well.
awesome mod. great job on the alien model! hope you can let the player become alien or predator eventually. only problem i notice is the guns are not held in hand properly in 3rd person view.

Hmm thought I'd hint in on something, how about having the Hive mechanic be spread by some of the Xenomorph's? maybe introducing another mob for that side currently you got the Warrior class Xenomorph. Maybe add a the worker class that spreads the hive resin since that drooling goo stuff that drips from their mouths is what the resin is made out of.
Love this mod, but here are some things i found lacking or needing.
-Predators in the books were mostly the reason for the alien spread to begin with, maybe a pred ship downed on the world with aliens and preds on board?
-Predator technology was cloak > Shoulder mounted blasters > spear >net>infrared-multi spectrum sensors> auto targeting. it would probably be a hassle, I would love the armor to be able to either cloak or fire at mobs when you look at them.
-the hive resin should only consume dirt, as it really did not consume anything in the movies and books, the aliens just spackled it everywhere for easier movement and prey entrapment. Idea: make it sticky to the player. or at least add an option in the config to choose what it consumes. because I run the exlbiomes mod and everyworld I spawn the aliens attach themselves to the red rock biomes. I kinda dig that, because in one book the aliens and predators fought on a desert/plains world.
-Predator heros / human heros, The Predators hunts were mostly rights of passage for youth. maybe adding male and female predators, of course the females would infact have to be bigger. and adding a "leader" predator, the human woman from the books who stuck around with the predators as a rare "hero" spawn who fights to help you or kills you.
-I think that the humans and predators should have their own resin, like the marines spawn in the iron stuff you set up, and the predators spawn in rocky/volcanic areas. maybe you could add a biome of just stone and lava,
-Adding the weapons from the aliens movies would be good.
-Adding the ablility to craft ships, or salvage downed ones. satellites and space stations too.
- The alien spawn rate is insane, keep it up! if people complain about how fast they spawn, then they really need to devote 12+ hours to watching every movie on the subject.
-Ripley! and Human/predator/pig/skelly/every mob hybrid of alien. in the books they basically used all lifeforms and their dna to boost the hive. That would be a truly epic feature to watch facehuggers attacking everything in sight and spawning off mutant hybrids. Maybe talk to mob makers around the forum to add compatibility to their mobs too.
Sorry if this seems too long, please don't skim it, It took alot of courage to write this as im in awe over the mod, This mod seriously deserves all the diamonds and ups it can get.
why is it wherever the drones walk they act like corruption blocks so i now have a minecraft world that i need to nuke from orbit hive blocks every where (its the only way to be sure) :|
Love the idea, iv read it and seen the video, looks great, but maybe you can make it so you can become a alien or predator and have a different player model to match for it, and a different view and as the alien you start as a face hugger, and you have to complete the cycle every time you die, and the predator, you have a helmet which you can take on and off in the inventory, and have different views with the helmet, it would be epic!

1: I don't know if this one is fixed but the pistol has no texture and acts like a machine gun being automatic.
2: Machine Gun is named pistol.
3: Xenos are completely passive to me.
4: Xenos launch in the air when hit by marines.
5: Nice texture pack coming along zomb69!

hive resin , calpamos dirt, and sand, Silicon Ore, Titanium Ore, Diamond Fragment Ore, Weyland Yutani Corp. Wall , Weyland Yutani Corp. Caution Striped Wall , Weyland Yutani Corp. Iron Bricks , Weyland Yutani Corp. Industrial Glass. in no particular order. the walls will be changed.

gonna redo walls again and i've fixxed the bars block. just found something that is going to help me make this even better
