thank you for this awesome mod. i like to build around villages. i have been keeping an eye out for them. nothing. not normally. i did make a handful of single biome mystcraft ages that were plains and desert. i did find villages in those. they were normal and did include the forestry bee building and the thaumic building.
my observations about this, out of the 20 or so worlds i have explored (not mystcraft ones), most of the biomes wouldn't spawn because of geometry. either the biome is not flat enough or wide enough. one thing i was wondering, does minecraft restrict villages from spawning on certain blocks? i mean like custom blocks?
anyhow i installed extrabiomes with this mod and its' villages spawn alright. i am going to try two of the village gen mods to see if they can 'force' spawn villages in your mod areas.
biome idea? i am a builder. I want a compacted earth biome. no cave, no ravine basically no holes in the ground where i build. cave gen is insane now. if real life was like it we would all fall down if it is a sedimentary region you could fill the caves with sand and or clay. that reminds me. in vanilla, villages always spawn over caves and ravines.
sorry for all the typing, thank you very much for the forge. and thanks again for the mod.
Village generation isn't working. I've added in the correct events for Forge to allow villages to generate in certain biomes, but it just doesn't want to work. If worse comes to worst, I'll have to edit the base class that handles what biomes villages can generate in.

i just remembered something, isn't there a way to set priority for execution? i was having some really strange village stuff happening in another build. parts of buildings would spawn and it looked broken. if you tried to fix stuff with wool instead of whatever, the whatever would appear there. umm place wool get cobble or wood. that tells me the block are not updating right. it could be your villages are spawning but the blocks are not updating so it looks like nothing is there. may be nothing.
I have an idea, though it might take a lot of work to do.
How about you make a few islands in the end (kind of like the aether), and each of them have different biomes and attributes. The vanilla one would be the biggest of them all, and the other ones would be smaller. Let's say there would be seven or eight, and they all would surround the original island. The other islands each have a specific biome (you could be very creative about this), and they each have their own types of blocks, mobs (like an enderwoman or something), and possibilities. You could use what you gained from all of the islands to make an enjoyable home, because let's face it, living in the End in vanilla is kind of boring. There are nothing but endermen (after you kill the enderdragon), there is nothing to do, you can't get any food, there aren't any materials for building besides end stone and some obsidian, and without all the world generation and other things, you feel like you are playing classic mode. Since I think a livable end would be really fun, you could take some End Dirt (or Ender Dirt if you want to call it) from one planet, and some other materials from another planet, such as Enderrack or Enderwood, and you can customize your own unique little planet without going to the overworld. This makes it so you can meet new mobs, interact with things like peaceful Endervillagers (who can give you things you can't get from anywhere else, even in the end. They would trade for enderpearls, so it could be thought that when you kill an enderman, you really take it's money), and see a whole world of things. And what happens if you run out of blocks for an island? Easy, you can make an item that can generate a new island (you choose the type of island from a GUI). The item would require only overworld items and a nether star to craft, so you could still get it if you somehow destroy all the islands in the end. It would be costly, but it allows you to do a ton of things!
Now, this probably won't be added because of how much work it is, and it could be for its own mod, but I feel that a mod that adds much more creativity to the end would fit alongside a mod that adds much more creativity to the overworld perfectly!
some great ideas here, hard to come up with something "new" when this mod adds so many unique biomes.. but i think the canyon is a good idea, just a super massive ravine with different layers of dirt/rock/clay, maybe a river going through the bottom of it
I have an idea for a new biome, a tropical ocean. Going down about 30-40 blocks of water with coral reefs glowing at the bottom, and deep sea fissures and stuff. Including some 'mountains of coral' surfacing, proving easy access to this wonderful seabed blocks.
I strongly support this the ocean in MC always looks way to blank for me, maybe some seaweed too.
also, seeing everybody now suggesting biomes I might as well drop a few ideas:
EDIT: alright I choose this one
subterranean hidden paradise (fantasy):
dry/desert/rocky surface with large caves underneath that have some grass, ponds, waterfalls and rich foliage in them and some sun light from holes in the caves ceiling.
I have an Idea for a 'Silver Tree' Fantasy biome that adds silver-y grass and trees that are white and leaves that are a light blue. The planks are white and can be used for stairs/slabs/etc. I took the liberty of making a proof-of-concept type thing showing off the tree style and a general idea of what it would look like!
You can use the current version with 1.4.6, and you should be able to use it with 1.4.5 as well. Other than that, no. All past versions were for ModLoader, and do not have a lot of the things in the current version.
I think a good idea for the mod would be an Immense Mountains biome. It would take full advantage of the 256 height limit, by generating mountains from ground to the upper atmosphere. They'll be VERY big mountains.
for the alps you should make them more of sharp solitary peaks and not so much high lands with wide gorges. glaciers should also have actual "glaciers" or long sheets of ice. correct me if there are and i havent found them. amazing work otherwise espesially with tree shape and shaders. for a new biome,.... I think you should add a new type of mountains: modeled after the tepui mountains of the gran Sabana in Venezuala. if you dont know them (probably dont) there the mountains in that movie UP where the old gramps wants to settle. That would be amazing!
7 Pure hearts of light, 13 Hearts of Darkness. 1 Boy with a zipper overload.

The suggestions are part of the 100 Page Celebration contest. So please edit your post with only one idea that you want to enter.
But a new Biome? HMMM.
A proper Canyon biome, that goes deep into the ground with a rivers running through the canyon bottoms.
Think I will be on here often? Haha no.
Oh yeah, I remember back when MC had Far Lands. Was good times...
