I'm not convinced that I got it working on my server cause I only see normal looking biomes, well other than the volcano. Did I do this correctly?
Put the zip in mods folder, open server properties with notepad and input "generator-settings=SMALL_BIOMESPLUS".
It works perfectly fine in Singleplayer, the world is varied and beautiful but in my multiplayer server It looks really normal everywhere I go.
Yeah! I was just gonna edit my post after I did some research and found out what went wrong. Thanks a lot for the fast response too! I'm sorry for looking like an idiot but I'm new to this! You are awesome.
I'm running some other mods that affect terrain gen (ars magica, thaumcraft 3, buildcraft, forestry, redpower) but i can't figure out why it replaced the top few layers of terrain in the lush desert with the vanilla anvil, of all things.
edit: i should mention that this was generated in SSP with a realistic biomes only world type
I can't wait to use the mod but I can't get it to work. I am thinking that the files I am downloading are suspect. I am using the mediafire direct link, but the download, whether uncompressed or not, lists only 3 items: 1) a file folder named "tdwp_ftw", 2) a picture file labeled "bop", and 3) a file labeled "mcmod.info".
I put them into my minecraft jar file (after loading modloader), delete the inf file, all that good stuff... and then nothing happens. It isn't also in my /mods folder. The game starts and runs fine, just seemingly without any input from the mod.
I have watched several youtube vids on the installation process, and it seems that they are all showing a different, unfoldered, bunch of files, more like what I get when installing modloader.
Anyway, just excited to try this but kinda at my wits end. Any ideas?
Thanks.
edited to add that modloader and b-o-p are my only two mods, so there aren't going to be any conflicts. I feel like I shouldn't be getting that tdwp-ftw folder.
Pretty cool mod, even better now with forge :D, new biomes and now new wood types, i like your mod man its awesome, also, one thing you should add are saplings for your trees
Yes, I saw it. I try to read every post, but I don't always reply to all of them. I didn't add the giant flowers yet, but I'll try to get them in for the next update. As for a mossy cobblestone recipe, I plan on adding regular moss that will grow on stone, and there will be a recipe that uses that and cobblestone to make mossy cobblestone, as well as mossy stone brick.
It's a Forge mod now, so you need the recommended version of Forge, not ModLoader. 2nd, you just save the .zip file to /.minecraft/mods/. The only thing you need to add to minecraft.jar is Forge.
I plan on adding custom saplings at a later time. Right now, my main priorities are getting hill and shore generation working again for custom biomes, the short grass/bush random offset (Like how tall grass renders), and adding support for Fast graphics settings with leaves.
I think that blocks involved in terrain generation have to have a block id of less than 256...perhaps I'm majorly derping though, but I think that's the case.
I think you're right... I looked at an ID map of the MindCrack mod pack, and all the ores/terrain features have block ids under 256.
Since that appears to be the case, I'd like to suggest another feature: metadata usage to reduce the number of block IDs taken up by this mod
Regardless, this is still a fantastic mod! I'm definitely hoping to use it for our next server launch, in lieu or in conjunction with EBXL.
Alright, bad news. I won't be able to have custom leaves work with Fast graphics. I copied exactly how vanilla leaves do it, yet it's still not working. It doesn't change the texture, and even in Fancy graphics, the block will act as opaque.
Hey, we've been playing around with the mod, loving it, however we notice some HUGE server lag with it. I'm sure the nature of the generation for some of the biomes may cause it to an extent.
Also, with Large Biomes Plus, is that a combination of biomes? We notice that Twilight Forest likes to combines its generation with your biome generation. Is that something we need to fix on our end? The biome IDs are all 255 in the config, I'm thinking that maybe Forge is auto assigning it during world gen and combining it with twilight forest or something, not entirely sure.
We would love to have a large biomes version of the "Biomes O' Plenty" option. That seems to generate "pure" biomes not affected by Twilight Forest.

Fancy and Fast graphics work with the leaves in ExtraBiomesXL- maybe you could ask ScottKillen about it?
Theres an achievement conflict between this mod and divinerpg, which is annoying as achievements cannot be edited in either config.

heres my biomes o plenty config, if it helps. i had to change ids to avoid conflicts with some other mods

Did you see this?
I go by AquaBuzzardHR on my YouTube Channel. Link here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyrxj072mhHlrhiv6RoZcWw
It is a channel about building and being creative, currently playing on the Lake Laogai SMP.

The newest update solves this, same thing happened to us two days ago, and he released an update that solved it.
