I found it peculiar how biome groupings are so broad. Many BoP biomes tend to be so different that having the same set of mobs spawn is jarring for me, especially with forest biome types that represent many different climates. For instance, has anyone here asked why do the autumn hills seem to have the same spawns as a spruce forest?
BoP has so many different sorts of biomes that I can go as far to say that I believe that sub-categories are needed, as jade cliffs and tropics are two very different biomes yet both are considered "jungle" biomes.
I can get why this is on default; it's very time consuming to make unique mob spawns for each biome. It would be insane to expect a mod that focuses on biome designs to spend much time on mob spawns, let alone other expect other mod authors to not be uniform with their mobs in the face of 80+ biomes.
For that reason I decided to make a config using Mob Spawn Controls 2 that makes it so that every biome is unique in what kind of mobs spawn. There's correlation between the biome types like with groups, but the variation in spawns is much, much higher.
I included configurations for More Nature [it's in the vanilla file], Thermal Expansion, Project Zulu, Twilight Forest and Mo Creatures alongside BoP and Vanilla.
I don't wanna spoil the spawns, but I will say the "special" spawns of BoP are unaffected and in some ways replicated for certain whimsical biomes with creepers. Lots of creepers.
You'll need Mob Spawn Controls 2 and you'll want Project Zulu as this spawn config needs zulu in order for all the biomes to be populated.
Mo Creatures as used here is limited to just sea mobs, and if Zulu, BoP and Vanilla aren't diverse enough I also added a config for Twilight Forest that makes it so some Twilight Forest mobs spawn in parts of the over world.
I'll admit I didn't do that much research [I think people who know what to actually expect in a deciduous forest will have a heart attack, for instance], but I believe I achieved my objective of making biome variation to the logical extreme I wanted it as.
So this config makes the world very dangerous? I love the idea, as I am a fan of Project Zulu and don't like the uniform spawning, but it not worth it if its gonna make creepers spawn everywhere.
@TDWP_FTW I do not intend to update to 1.7, but I would want a version for 1.6.4 with working kelp forest and coral reef biomes (neither are spawning for me, this is probably just a mod incompatibility though) promised land without 10000000 pixies spawning per second, and, though I don't expect this to happen, the sacrificial altar stuff. I'm not saying it should be in the base mod, but if there was a config option to enable it, that would be fantastic. I really liked being able to re-fight the ender dragon in a balanced, legit way.
Also, its good to see this back om minecraftforum.net, the reddit thing was really counterproductive
Can someone help me? I have a problem with latest version BoP (2.0.0.722) when i used it instead of the old one (2.0.0.714), my server crash. but when I get back to the old one, it work fine again.
Here, my crash report.

I need some help here, I'm getting this error after updating BoP versión 2.0.0.716, here's the screenshot of the error (happens when I try to load a previous saved world)
this error happens with every versión of BoP after 2.0.0.716 (.718 to .722) with .716 I can load the world fine...
When I have the latest biomes o plenty for 1.7.2 installed, things that aren't normally furnace fuel in Minecraft suddenly are. Such as snowballs, and iron ingots.
are honey blocks part of this mod? just updated to 1.6.4 and my entire world was covered in honey blocks. also pine trees were made of staircases and red flowers.
So this config makes the world very dangerous? I love the idea, as I am a fan of Project Zulu and don't like the uniform spawning, but it not worth it if its gonna make creepers spawn everywhere.
Also, is this for 1.7 or 1.6? I use 1.6
1.6
The world gets varying levels of dangerousness [some biomes are actually pretty safe. Fields have plentiful animal spawns and not many monsters particularly deadly, beyond the rare [and easily manageable] centipede], the really scary spawns tend to be regulated to a few biomes. I also did a check through of my config and actually wasps don't spawn in the overworld anywhere. I swear I made it that way. I must have changed it back sub consciously out of the sheer horror.
Here's the biomes I think are scariest so you're aware:
-Overgrown Greens [Covered in creepers, giant insects and other horrible things]
-Outback [Poison creatures and skeletons dominate]
-Any of the dead biomes [each one is meant to their own nightmare, but I will saw that I have phantoms spawn in the overworld with the BoP config here]
-Sacred Springs [two words: jungle spiders]
-Ominous Woods [You know why].
Beyond that I tried to keep a logical balance to things. For instance cherry blossom groves have lots of creepers, but other mob types spawn relatively less and birch forests get relatively higher enderman spawn rates, but lack any creepers.
When I have the latest biomes o plenty for 1.7.2 installed, things that aren't normally furnace fuel in Minecraft suddenly are. Such as snowballs, and iron ingots.
Not a problem on our end. At least, it shouldn't be.

Yes. That's an ID conflict. Make sure that normal blocks have IDs above 256, and terrain blocks have IDs below 256 (They're separated in the config).
When I have the latest biomes o plenty for 1.7.2 installed, things that aren't normally furnace fuel in Minecraft suddenly are. Such as snowballs, and iron ingots.
Now that islands no longer spawn in ocean biomes other than the mushroom islands, would it be possible in the future to add a biome similar to the old islands?

Just a correction to this, it was a problem on our end however i fixed it earlier today, so try the latest build.(723+)
Thanks for the update! Keep up the good work on the mod, love it.
