- 5 new biomes: Badlands, Basin, Dunes, Icy Hills (Thanks to fabbez98 for the idea), Sea.
- Dead Forest trees have a taller variation.
- Tundra is made up of grass/dirt instead of snow blocks now.
- Origin Valley as a brighter blue sky.
It makes music play constantly, like in the Xbox 360 Edition. It only modifies one vanilla class file, so it's compatible with nearly every mod (Unless they edit the same file).
I had a mod by the same name that did the same thing before, but I had lost the source file, so I figured I'd just make it again, as it's a very simple change.
I have a couple of things to say about the new update. First off, I love the icy hills biome, its really cool. Second, i am not a big fan of basin that much, it seems like this mod has enough biomes that are just flat and boring. Another thing is i like the idea of dunes, but it could be improved. It feels to much like desert in vanilla minecraft. Ehat i think you should do is only make it generate near water, make the hills a lot smaller, and add small scatter trees and tall grass. Those are just my thoughts.
Ever considered a sort of Peruvian biome? Very green, all valleys and peaks that reach beyond the clouds. The kind of biome you could build a lot of Incan-themed buildings on.
Kinda like the Extreme Hills biome, just a lot taller, and with valleys and a lot of bushes and small trees.
I like to build a lot of Mayan, Aztec, and Incan inspired structures (well, not as much as I do Arab/Egyptian style, but still), but the extreme hills biome just never seemed like the right home for the Incans.

Java is bulky, slow, hogs resources, passes out from exhaustion, and although it was big in the 90's is now typically only found on poorly designed websites. Much like Harry Knowles. So any time Minecraft crashes, blame Java.
I love this, but there has to be some sort of cap on the amount of biomes I'd think or we'll never see many of them. Decompiling and trying to remove the ones I didn't really enjoy doesn't work properly.

But that's the fun part. It really forces exploration if you want to see them. Minecraft's exploration aspect was always very lacking for me, so yeah...
I feel like I should clarify that this mod was mainly made for my own enjoyment. I wasn't planning on even releasing the mod to the public initially, and even then, I wasn't planning on it becoming so popular. So, I just add stuff at my own will, because I enjoy it. Not to really say I don't care about anyone, but I'm not going to remove/add/change things just because someone doesn't like it.
I'm dying for a server version of this, any eta on that? Also do you have a place to send donations to, I definitely would love to send a donation for the insane mod you have provided. You are like the van gogh of biomes
An Idea For A Biome
It Would Be called "Nuclear Dawn" or whatever you want to call it. it would have dark gray grass with destroyed skyscrapers with loot inside and craters scatterd around and if you stay in the biome to long you gain a hunger/weakness effect (from radiation) just a quick idea maybe some mutant animals can spawn there
Hey guys. I have some cool things in store for the next update, including a "nerf" to the Parasitic Heap. There won't be any new biomes (Maybe), but there will be some new blocks (Plants, other stuff, etc.).
I'm probably gonna take a break from the mod after I release said update. Maybe actually play Minecraft for once, some Xbox stuff (Sonic Adventure 2 HD on XBLA in 3 days. :D), etc. Maybe make some other mods...Who knows...

Also, this is kind of random, but I wanted to give a thank you to MisterFiber (The creator of ExtraBiomes). I noticed he liked the topic earlier today (Well, not sure when he liked it, but I just noticed today. :P), and I wanted to say thank you for getting me into modding in the first place, and of course, for being an inspiration.
Someone who wanted to change Minecraft the same way I wanted to...With more of a reason to explore, with more beautiful terrain, with more aesthetics, etc.. I started using ExtraBiomes back in Beta 1.7.3, and I fell in love the first time I used it. Eventually, I somehow found myself on the team with him, and soon after, ScottKillen. We were like a perfect trio...MisterFiber for the backbone of things, and the voice of reason, ScottKillen for the technical wizardry, and myself for creativity and wanting to push forward with more and more content, eventually leading to my ExtraBiomes RPG add-on.
I won't get into anymore than that, but thank you MisterFiber, for pretty much teaching me how to make mods, and being an inspiration to improve Minecraft, even if it's just a mod.
Perhaps some mobs, if you know how to do that? I'd even be willing to provide textures if you want. Currently, the terrain generation and biomes are excellent but from what I've experienced so far, a lot of them just don't have any mobs at all, which can make things seem pretty dead. (Which is okay for the Wasteland, not so much for the Savanna..) . Some nice mobs could be Yaks, Goats, Alligators, Frogs, Gnomes (for meadows), Lions, Wildebeasts..
Hay blocks? Maybe try to decrease the amount of blocks you're using- I understand the point of most of them, but as it is it's hard to run any other mods with this mod (I consider this mod a necessity) due to the amount of blocks it takes up.
If it's possible, maybe add some structures? Little ruined shacks, barns, graveyards, odd stone formations (Stone Henge?)
Overgrown forests: Tight tree clumps that are spaced apart. Most of the ground is leaves. Occasional muddy ponds. Lots of vines. Trees have very large roots that form arches and "bridges". Logs sticking up in the air.
I love this mod. Installed it just now and had a look at it. I stumbled on to a green biome witch apparently is spreading. Is there any chance that it could spread so much that it covers most of the biomes around it ? If so can it somehow be turned off
This mod is amazing. I am stunned by the ammount of biomes in a single area. I found twelve in the area of a single map, and still exploring.
I have to suggestions for biomes that are somewhat realistic:
Lake biome: a large and mainly flat area with a huge lake. Villages can spawn on the lake on a huge wood platform
Floating island: A land ofuneven ground with floating isles above it.

I watch the Gingecast.......
I support the K7 projects.
Thanks, but do you think you could go easy on the shrub biomes for a bit. It seems like there are 5 or 6 different versions of that biome.

WOW. Amazing terrain generation. Humans, sponsored by Minecraft Nature.

Awesome mod. Keep up the good work.
