I've decided to pick up development on the mod again. I'm going to wait until the next update which is supposed to be out before Christmas to release the update.
Some of the changes include:
- Renamed old Meadow biome to Garden.
- Added new Meadow biomes that's closer to a real life meadow.
- Changed the Tundra biome a bit to be more realistic. Some of it is snow covered, some isn't.
- Changed Pasture grass color.
- Removed Desert being generated inside Oases.
- Changed world types so vanilla worlds will not be affected. New world types include "Biomes O' Plenty," "Large Biomes+," and "Small Biomes+." Vanilla Only world type has been removed, as it is the same as Default now.
Here's a preview of the new Meadow biome:
Thank you! Maybe you could re-add the old Garden biome and call it the Flower biome?
Read the FAQ. For as far as I know, it would be a horrible amount of work to port. If it's not too much work for you:
- Right click and drag your minecraft.jar to any place inside your bin folder.
- Select "Copy here".
- Rename the copied one to anything you like.
- Open Minecraft.
- Go to Options, select Force Update.
- Let Minecraft update by logging in.
- You now have a fresh, seperate minecraft.jar. If you want to switch back to the one with forge, simply rename this one to minecraftbiomes.jar or something and rename the forge one back to minecraft.jar. This way, you can let many minecraft versions exist next to each other.
Hey. I don't want to drag this thread into arguments that are better left elsewhere, but there's a couple things I wanted to say.
a.) Your mod looks awesome. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but you can bet I am as soon as I finish this post.
b.) Thank you for taking the road less traveled, and certainly the more challenging one. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to the screaming masses and say, "This is my vision, not yours." I just want you to know that there are people out there who support you and your design decisions.
I apologize if this had been addressed, but is there any possibility of adding config files? The current one doesn't seem to have any way to modify IDs, and it would be really nice to play this with BetterThanWolves.
(And no, there doesn't seem to be any conflict of classes, so there's unlikely to be any sort of conflict other than IDs.)
Let’s play good guys against bad guys… Yes. Let’s play that. Are you ready? You’re the bad guy. And when you’re bad, you just run. That’s fine right? Well… Shall we play?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but last I checked, this mod wasn't compatible with BTW simply because both mods together pushed texture indexes over the limit.

That was my understanding as well. Everything else is in order, but there aren't enough terrain sprite indices to go around.
Just want to show my support for this mod Really awesome stuff! It's a shame that nothing was done with the vanilla world gen after ravines aside from some tweaks, because this would really make the world look nicer The canyon biome alone would make it worth downloading.
On a more personal note, I want to echo MaxAstro and say congratulations for taking the tough road and staying in line with your personal convictions rather than giving in to community pressure. It takes a lot of maturity and willpower to do that, so thank you for standing up for yourself continually

Actually, you can use the BTW config file to resolve the block ID conflicts.
The terrain index thing, however, is not fixable AFAIK.
I can't add anymore custom blocks, or else I'd re-add the giant flowers. However, when the Mod API is released, I'll be able to.
When the modding API does come out, can you add a Tall Grass biome with huge tall grass as well? Maybe also Apple trees in the Orchard, which guarantee you get at least 1 apple per leaf block! But for now, why don't you have new mobs for each biome? Such as lions, cheetahs, and gazelles in the Savanna, and monkeys, sloths, and tree frogs in the Tropical Rainforest? And when the API comes out and the Flower biome is re-added, how about Rosesters, red chickens with roses on their back that lay Rose Red dye? And maybe Nether biomes like a soul desert?

You Are Not Alone.
Canyon:
With sections of hills and valleys made of dirt and stone, the Canyon is great for building large structures.
Drylands:
A dry forest of red and brown colors. Inspired by an old glitch I had happen once in Beta 1.7.3.
Meadow:
Spruce trees and bushes cover a hilly area with sections of forest spread out among it.
There were also changes made to the Tundra, Oasis, and old Meadow biome, which is now called the Garden biome.

Edit: Grammar.

I thought Forge was "100% compatible" ,shouldn't it work with any Modloader mod?
