While the save is happening, the World Downloader GUI options are disabled:
every time i die, it stops downloading the world and i need to start it again manually, while everything that is already downloaded is lost. so, the mod only saves chunks, that i visited in one minecraft live. thats really annoying for me, as i am playing on the MineZ server group (an awesome mod) and you die there quite often (and you get a 30 seconds ban every time you die) is there any way i can download this world using this mod? (the world is around 600x4000 blocks big, so there is no way of saving it in one life; and PvP is allowed on this servers, which means that if you get ambushed, you will probably die and you dont have time to stop downloading the world to save it)
Any solutions?
That sounds like a fun server! The older versions of the mod allowed you to continue downloading after death, or even between sessions connecting to the same server. I had to disable that function between 1.2.4 and 1.3.1 because of some large changes in Minecraft code and I have not gotten back to fixing it yet. It's definitely a feature that should work but I don't know when it will be ready. I hope you can get some use out of it in the meantime. I'll look at what happens when you die because that should be easier to fix than disconnecting and reconnecting.
Of course it is. But, Minecraft 1.3.1 was only out for a few days before 1.3.2 came along as a bug fix release. The old release links are at the top of the thread. You'll find a 1.3.1 link there.
Well, the Main Problem for Me is, that it Stops downloading when i leave the Server, because every Time you die you get the 30 seconds Ban, which Stops the Download (dying And the Leasing because of the Ban are stopping it, so i would Need both Things fixed)

Someone else had asked about tekkit support. is there any way to use this within tekkit to download a tekkit world? currently, it only loads to a white screen when injected into the .jar. (tekkit is on MC 1.2.5)
Is there a way for servers to prevent the map downloader, some servers dont want the buildings copied
World data has to be sent to clients in order for them to play the map. If the data is sent to the client then it can be saved. It's no different than a web page where you can save an image to your desktop. When players build on a server, they often want to save their creations for use offline as a single player map. That's what this mod does.

I've been playing on a server for the past month, and all of a sudden the admin became a douche cake and decided to start trolling (server for adults too, imagine that). So i left it.
But had my area saved thanks to your mod! now all my hard work isnt a total lost, i can now load it up and copy and paste it into my local server.

Seems a bit bloated with too many options, such as username and such. It'd be nice if that was automatically set to a name depending on the mincraft user account that is currently playing.

Thanks for the great feedback. I want to make sure to give proper credit to Nairol for the development he did on the mod and all of those newest features too. I didn't quote understand what you are saying about username. I'm not aware of any part of the mod that asks for, saves or deals with the player's username. There is a spot to enter a name of the single player save file. I'll also be putting in an option to specify a save directory and to automatically grab the server seed if it's available to the player (has op). Please let me know more about that username thing you are seeing. Thanks again for the feedback and tips!

Great Mod by the way, I'm just asking this if it is possible.
I just wanted to share a tip, get Optifine and enable multicore chunk loading, then if you fly around with a flymod, you can fly at top speed and download a huge map very fast. I downloaded one world with zombe mod at speed 10 and it was able to keep up at the full 10 chunk radius (if squares had a radius that is).
I'd like to expand on the idea of the two posters before me. I think a great feature to have is the ability to save worlds by host name, or a unique name. This could solve the problem of host name and ports, as well as multiple server games such as MineZ. To go one step further, implement an "alias list" that allows the player to take advantage of the new auto download feature. For example: all of the identical public MineZ servers (us1 thru us12) could be aliased to one single player. This will help continue the download when slots are not available on a particular server.
