as ownage07 said, they are supposed to be rare creatures, so even at the highest spawnrate, I didn't want them to be too easy to find. besides, many were complaining that they were too common, and I had to decrease the spawnrate

It happened again.. when I give tnt to the baby creeper the SMP server crashes. Something to do with giving tnt... not using the gui. If I don't give tnt.. I can use the gui fine.

Yes, different error. it looks like the gui error was caused by me giving tnt and not realizing the server crashed.. when i opened up the creeper gui, it gave a subsequent error because of that.
1. When a player's xp gets into a high range .. let's say 50 - 60 or a random number inbetween.. the Mutant Creature's player awareness distance increases when they spawn (32 blocks+ away or so..).. That way, higher xp players become the hunted instead of the hunter.
2. If possible, increase the sound distance that you can hear the Mutant Creature's noises as they roam around.
When a player has little to no armor, there is nothing more scary than hearing them and you have no idea how far or close they are... I believe right now.. you have to be in a very close distance to hear their awesome sounds.

Well I finally got the courage to go and attack a mutant creeper. I had a pack of wolves (7), two maxed xp pet bats, industrial craft nano armor and diamond sword with fire aspect....
and it was still challenging!!! Good work.
lol most of my time fighting the MC was spent swinging my sword and running backwards.. hehe. Now I'm babysitting this creeper egg until it hatches..
Yeah, those THINGS are really annoying. But if you have enough skill and at least iron equipment, you have high chances of taking them down. Was SUPER hard when that bug was still there. The one that mad the mutant creeper insanely fast.

You don't necessarily need to put it on your head.

Alright, I've fixed the bug. I've never seen a bug like that before, but luckily it is now fixed. You'll be able to use chemical X in SMP by the next update. Sorry about that!

I meant the minecraft config. try typing "/gamerule mobgriefing false" into your console. it's something like that
thanks the picture with the mutant enderman's mouth open is its scream. it's gonna have more attacks than the mutant creeper and the mutant zombie. I'm still thinking about the drop

I don't think it makes the player stronger (but I could be wrong.) I do notice that the higher levels you go.. the # of mobs that attack you increase (in hard more for example... at low xp, you will usually see one enderman by himself... at around 40 xp and up.. you'll see two or three endermen together) and the percentage of mobs that wear armor goes up.
