But now I have a couple of questions.
1) How did you do the angled white benches that were outside?
2) I saw some books stacked on a unit. Where are they from? Bibliocraft?
3) Where did you get the large house numbers from, or how did you achieve that? They look fantastic.
Again I'll say it - truly splendiforous work. I wonder what's next for you.
Thanks, man...appreciate the comments.
1) I used the sloped block on its side from Carpenter Craft mod.
2) The books are...wait for it...Steve heads. They support multi-textures and can be placed at any angle.
3) The objects behind the numbers are panes, textured to have the gaps between them. The number...wait for it...Steve heads (belly laugh). Numbers are panels. I put the panels on standard blocks and then removed the blocks and put up the panes. Panes don't reach for panels, so it works. There is a half block offset so it really only looks good from the front. I also added a shadow on the panes to help separate the number from the pane. "What separates us from the wild animals...Photoshop!"
What's next? I'm going to stay with art deco designs for another build or two. I've been collecting a lot of reference images and art deco is a style that can work very well with minecraft. My favorite is mid century modern homes. Many have those beautifully angled roofs that could be done with some texturing trickery and provided I don't move the camera in the video.
Thanks again for the comments. I was never held as a child, so kind words mean a lot (brush away tear). Later
Thank you. Couldn't have done it without your mod. The time your willing to help everyone is greatly appreciated.
Look at those panels doin' their job. With so many panels packed together they did get pretty jumpy, so I had to remove Optifine. No big deal, but I lost the Soartex Fanver clouds on the horizon.
When I start my next build I will try to post images of the progress from start to finish this time. That will give me a way to keep posting and stay in the mix.
Hmmm, just noticed that I am missing the path blocks like the Cobblestone path and DIY paths under xtras. I have them in the config and the textures but no block or ID is showing up in game. Did those get left out?

Nope, I just grabbed a fresh copy from dropbox and can confirm they are definitely there.
There are two things I can think of that may be causing them not to show up.
1. Occasionally forge will auto assign id's for certain mods without causing a crash.(though this is very unlikely)
2. You may need to delete the config and let it regenerate. (this option will most likely fix the issue)
If it would be no trouble, that would be great. I don't normally play on creative unless testing. I am revisiting textures and would love to use all of them.
Thanks Mindkrafter for an amazing mod.

Done.
I don't have time to make pics for all the new recipes, but I'm sure you can find them via the usual methods.
Made a change to the DIYDiscs module.
Discs .ogg files are now located within the mods assets folder (assets/xtrablocksdiydiscs/records).
The 32 discs are already located in the folder, just change them as required.
DIYDisc01 has a song that I made for my old Boombox mod. (the track can be replaced or used for any purpose)
The rest of the discs have a simple sound on them, as all 32 discs need to be in the folder to avoid problems.
Just overwrite the file with your own music or replace with your existing tracks.

Hey hey How's everyone doing?
I've stopped jumping from site to site in my world, and I'm actually completing things. Having finished the grand ballroom, I'm now working on an upsy-downsy building where no two rooms have the same floor level. There are no corridors, only stairs. After this, I *will* do my gentleman's retreat, and Techne the rest of the furniture.
I either work on the build, or I am in Photoshop, creating half-a dozen textures to fit my build. ...Or I'm chilli' on the couch with my dog, watching NCIS:LA on DVD.
What are you guys up to?

Creative Minecrafter. No build is ever really complete, just "waiting for a better/prettier mod".
I always have the TV on while I'm minecrafting. Stuff like The Simpsons or Futurama is good background noise, or DVD of anything I have.
What's currently on: NCIS, Eggheads, The Last Leg, Brain Games, Police 10-7
I will scare you now with some female-audience-targeted crap I watch: Downton Abbey, RuPaul's Drag Race, Real Housewives of Melbourne, and more that I've probably forgotten, but I can see that you have already run off to the bathroom to throw up.
Oooh, and Wentworth season 2 is starting May 20. I am really looking forward to it.
Oh, and upsy-downsy - not escher, no. (although, if there was a gravity mod, I'd definitely do this) Imagine a room 4 blocks high (including ceiling) 5x5 blocks across, surrounded by walls. On all 4 sides of the room is another room, which is half-a-room-height higher (ie 2 blocks). On the left end of each of the 4 walls your room has a steep stairs (1 block x 1 block x 2 blocks high) these stairs go up to the next room.
Now, the same thing, but each of the 4 adjoining rooms are 2 blocks lower (directly underneath the higher ones) The right end of each wall in your room has a staircase going down to those.
Multiply this by total of 3 rooms across, 6 rooms deep, and 4 full rooms high.
It is a rabbit warren to get around, and not exactly practical in terms of functioning rooms. I have dropped 2 light wells in, and there will be windows around three egdes (the 4th being connected to the main house/castle.)
My intention was to make a wing with lots of short stairs, and no way to walk "flat" from one end to the other.
I may have overdone it a bit.
I do this a lot - I make some ridiculous construction, learn from it, blow it away, then build something more sensible in its place.
It'd make a good library, cos it's walk through everywhere, but I already have a library.
Oooh - maybe a gallery with paintings and sculptures and suits of armour! Ooooh, yeah!

I gave up with The Simpsons around season 19 (I think) but I own all of Futurama, which is much better.
I don't watch Downton but that's okay, it seems decent enough for the targeted audience. I was going to start filing for divorce papers when you mentioned Real Housewives, but you like The Last Leg, so all is forgiven.
LOL.
#Is it ok to state there's nothing 'real' about the Real Housewives?
#Is it ok to say the Paralympics are the proper Olympics, and everything else is just a warm up.
#Is it ok to say The Last Leg may be one of the most genuinely funny shows on TV?
Hehehe yes yes and yes.
I only watch housewives cos it is in Melbourne, where I lived for 30+ years. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
Wentworth? Sounds like a prison. Wasn't the prison in Prisoner Cell Block H called Wentworth? I actually used to like that show.
<sings> You used to bring me roses, I wish you would again. But that was on the outside, and things were different then. <stops singing>. That's all I remember and I may have that wrong.
On the inside the roses grow, they don't mind the stony grou-ou-ound, but the roses here are prisoners too, when morning comes around...
Yes I am a huge fan of Prisoner (as it was called here) and Wentworth is a new imagining of Prisoner. More modern, of course (and they can swear on TV now, and show nudity) so it is a new show in its own right. Vera Bennett slept with Jim Fletcher (Oh NO she didn't!) In season 2 the Freak arrives. (Booo hissss) and Bea Smith becomes Top Dog (she's behind you!)
There was one, but I have no idea if it's updated to any current MC version.
Gasp! I wanna do one of those "in the round" spaceships like in 2001. At least I think it was 2001.
Now, more importantly, I have blown away by upsy downsy building, and started anew. I really want to use all the non-cube blocks to make my Victorian style bay windows look just "so", but I have 6 such "towers" and 3 windows on each. Copying/pasting any carpenters blocks or slabs/notches/posts/pillars/corners/covers/etc just does not work. The carpenters blocks come out vanilla, aligned to face Mecca or something, and the microblocks/cut blocks just don't appear at all. Grrrrrrr. So instead, I am opting for different textured blocks to make it look like edging and brick and tiles and weatherboard. Ah, thank MK for XtraBlocks.

Is there a way to skin a block at the roof angle I'm trying to get? (one slope across 2 blocks - 24.5 degrees? - Not strong on the math) Then I could just skin one (or two) to meet my red sides, black sloped surface criteria to create a proper roof on my barn!
I'm already having a ball decorating my house with this. I can make any wallpaper or carpet I want, and that's just what I thought of on day one. It would be nice if other users would post their creations to help inspire us all. I know there's a ton I can do with this and can't wait to roll up my sleeves beyond just wallpaper!

Hey Crafty, I'm doing fine but I think I've turned to the Dark Side.
I decided a while ago that I wouldn't start a world until things were steadier, mod update wise, mainly because, a) I would never get very far with my world (too ambitious), I didn't want to sort through hundreds of ID's again when I knew that 1.7.x+ did away with that problem. So, I decided to wait and concentrated on sorting and creating all my textures, and I spent a lot of time dealing with shaders and making my game look fantastic.
Then I saw a way to <cough> 'obtain' The Sims 3 with all it's expansions. I'd dabbled with just the base game previously and thought it was okay but limited. But I kept seeing all the stuff other people were doing and I decided that I wanted to do that. It's now got me hooked. Like MC, it's not the actual game I care about, it's the building and sim creation for me. It gives me a level of detail that MC can't do, but isn't as easy to get my own look in there, you are relying on what other people create. But I'm enjoying it so far, I don't know how long this buzz will last but for the moment it's good.
Having said that, I haven't given up with MC - I still prefer MC but The Sims is filling my creative needs whilst MC takes a nap.
What you do you lot watch when you're not digging?
I haven't been doing too much with regards to minecraft. Played a bit of 1.7.5 over lan, with my son and his mates.
Also doing a bit here and there with a 1.7.2 update, still heaps to do and figure out. I don't see me ever releasing a 1.7.2 update (especially as textures don't mirror front to back) but it is still worth the effort, as it will help with future updates.
As I've said before, I'm not really into watching TV.
The only shows that I do watch are: The Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory and Doctor Who.
Other than that, I have been Playing GTA V, Beatles Rock Band and Red Dead Redemption on the PS3 and Infinity Wars, Age Of Wonders 3, Fallout 3 and Guitar Hero World Tour on the PC (A nice mix of new and old)
I too have the Sims 3 and all the expansions. It can be quite addictive building yourself a new mansion and adding all of the cool goodies. In fact, that may be the next on my list of older games to play.
Okay, this mod is absolutely amazing! Perfect for creative players like me! Love the tip of the hat to both sides of the pond on the mail boxes. I wonder if you can take a look at some difficulty I've been having getting my barn "just so." Here is the unanswered post I wrote on the Carpenters Blocks forum: http://www.minecraft...0#entry30104851

Greets! Always nice to hear from people who find the mod useful.
I don't think it's possible to texture the top of slopes, other than with overlays like grass, snow and mycelium. If I could get the panels to not mirror their textures front to back, that would be the perfect solution. Sadly I have not been able to achieve this yet.
The best solution I can come up with, is the same as Wideload suggested. Texturing the DIYWood blocks to be part roof, part wood will do the trick, albeit a little thicker than you may like.
Here's a pic from some testing I did last night, along with a breakdown of the textures used.
The healing block is supposed to give a healing boost right? Do you just stand on it? Tried applying power and no worky.
Yes, you are just supposed to stand on it. However, it seems there was a small code change in one of the Forge 1.6.4 updates, that stopped them from working.
I have fixed the problem for all of the effects blocks (DIYXtras). Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Words are failing me right now. You sir, are a genius.

I'll just say... Wow! That's enough I think!
Simply AMAZING!
The level of detail that you add to these builds just blows me away.
I could have sworn those numbers were solid blocks, great use of visual trickery.
