For anyone whos wants a higher res texture for the skipbin heres my own 128x texture. You need to take a DIY multi template and resize it to 2048x2048 and drop the image below in it.
Nice work, I will be using that for sure
And I've got my new pic of the week!
Found a new use for the trapdoors too. This one is purely decorative, but my son has made a more functional version with lava inside to dispose of his unwanted blocks.
(Don't know what the deal is with all the the bins but hey, why not!)
I may have to work on those textures a bit though!
That would be *really* useful for SMP or adventure maps. Every time I see colored keys I think Doom.. which is never a bad thing
Also, on mention of feeling like Michael Jackson, the game Eternal Sonata came to mind: there is a tower toward the end of the game where you ascend these spiral staircases made of piano keys (or were they xylophone?), and they light up and play random notes when you step on them. Talk about a weird dream that would be, to mine along somewhere and music/lights start playing all over the place. Shouldn't have eaten those deep-cave mushrooms eh?
I was trying to figure out something to do with this.I wanted to make a light to put on buildings and such.Unfortunately my skill set doesn't go much beyond cut and paste.Any suggestions or help on what to do?It can be made from the glow template.I want to try to do it myself if i can.Any help is appreciated thanks.

Dem's mighty fine shrooms, must have been the glow variety
Yeh, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to go with the doors.
At the moment there are 5 doors and 5 keys. The doors have the properties of obsidian and can't be opened with switches, levers or redstone power. You must have a corresponding colored key in your inventory for the door to open and close and the keys will deplete with each use.

Something along the lines of this
You will need, Techne and you will also need to create 5 class files. I will send you the source code for this model if you like.
I will put something together for you and send you a pm later today
Is it hard to create something like that with the class files and all.my girlfriend can help me because she knows alittle about java.Do you have any sources where we can pick up some knowledge on java.
Keys huh? That could be pretty cool for smaller servers.
It turns out me and my friends have gone glowcrazy and we want more glow blocks.
Could I request a 3rd set of glowblocks?
Yeh, I use them for LAN play with my son and they are pretty cool for that!
The downside to just having keys though, is that anyone can craft the required key and open that door.
I'm thinking a more practical use for server play would be a key card When you right click on a door with the card, it will pop up a gui and you enter a pin number or password.
A 3rd set, you say! Sure I will sort something for you later today.
Man, it must be like having eternal sunshine in that build!
Still waiting to see some pics or video of it

Ok I downloaded techne and it seems easy to use.what model did you use to make the light?the only ones I saw were the models for the mobs.I didn't check it out to thoroughly because I had to leave for work so I.' Not too sure what to use.I m trying to make a parking meter next so if you can give me some pointers that would be great.thank you

Use model base.
I had a chance to add in the code for the model rotation last night, so I will send that code to you along with some pointers for Techne and a picture explaining the options.

Thank you so so much I really appreciate it. Now would I still need to write class files and code for an inanimate object.one that is purely aesthetic and doesn't emit light or have any special characteristics at a like the parking meter I want to create.
So you want screenshots huh? Well, you asked for it
Note that all of these screenshots are unfinished projects, we have multiple projects going on at any given time and we like to plan things out and use the best things available to us. I have not yet got a chance to utilize all of your DIY blocks yet but I do plan on building a spawn town soon and you can bet there will be some in there
Nothing too big yet, but keep in mind my server is a legit survival server, no creative, no cheating!
A tunnel with glowblocks to highlight the water
The entrance to a mountain dwelling
The high-speed railway nether tunnel.
Another angle of the tunnel
The base I am working on
And another angle of my base
All of these screenshots use your blocks in one way or another, there will be more to come after we upgrade some more projects if you enjoyed these.

Man, that looks sweet. Nice work
I will definitely be adding one of them to the pic of the week. I look forward to seeing more in the future!
Here's the extra set of glow blocks. The recipe uses all of the DIY1Blocks.
That's a pretty sharp-looking base you have there I had someone on my server try to do what you have with the Nether transport system.. ahh, not with any success though, haha.
Thank you for your mod. I've texturized them with an alphabet (with the Spanish Ñ, of course) and I've done some Oriental lamps. They look perfect!
I've run out of normal blocks. May I ask you for a huge DIY block pack? I'm a textureholic but I don't know anything about coding, but thanks to you I can texture them.
Also, I have a suggestion. I've done these lamps and alphabet, but I wanted to change their name. Can you tell me where I can change it? Or, if you can, make a config file where anyone can change their name?
Thanks.
very nice glad to se other people are finding out about this mod too..

Thanks, I really like what you have done, those alphabet blocks look cool.
Not enough blocks for you hey! How's 256 sound
I have made a mod for pixel artists that has 256 blocks that you can re-skin. They are essentially the same as the DIY blocks only they already have a color instead of the numbered texture. There is a link a page or two back for an early version of the mod.
I have since reworked the crafting recipes and added 16 paint brushes, each paint brush can be combined with each of the 16 dyes.
I will put a release up for the new version of that mod a bit later tonight. That should keep you going for bit longer
As for the names, I am still trying to find a way to change them through the config file. All attempts so far have been unsuccessful, but it is a feature that I would also really like, so I will not give up trying.

Here's the release of pixelArtist v1.0
(note: the paint brush serve's no purpose in the game other than for crafting recipes)
Download this file and replace the current texture files if you want the blank, numbered DIY style textures.
I hope you also finish soon the Doors project with keys. I want to re-texture them with beautiful new doors
Have fun (also I'm not sure if you saw it or not, as I edited my post at the exact same time as you commented.
But I added a download for the blank numbered textures to the post with the download link)
I haven't done any more work on the doors, haven't had much time for coding the last few days!
But here is a download for them in their current form.
You must have a corresponding colored key in your inventory to open and close the door. Each time you use the door, 1 key will be removed from you stack
Levers and redpower will not open the doors and the doors have the properties of Obsidian.
use the following dyes:
Rose Red = red door & key
Cactus Green = green door & key
Light Blue Dye = blue door & key
Dandelion Yellow = yellow door & key
Purple Dye = purple door & key
Holy ballsack.. a Red Matter Pickaxe would have a heyday there Suddenly, half the cave is gone...
You are a machine, MindKrafter. Thank you so much for adding this in. I'll get to testing right away.
Nice work, I will be using that for sure

Your welcome, hope the properties file does the job for you.
I may have to work on those textures a bit though!
