Just A Few Fish turns the 4 vanilla Minecraft fish into mobs that you can see swimming around and you can fish for them or stick in an aquarium so it would make a great companion mod, because one gives the visual effect of fish in the water while the other lets you catch tons of different game fish without having to make 50+ models / textures. I can also turn down the spawn rate so lag isn't a problem like it would be if there were 50+ different kinds of fish mobs with varying AIs. I use it so much that the water would look dead without it.

Aquaculture is incompatible with Just A Few Fish. Minecraft won't even load if both mods are in the mods folder. I'm having fun fishing with Aquaculture, but I just really wish that I could also see something.
Idea. It's purely cosmetic, but it gives that missing effect. Instead of making a model what about just having shadows that move over the surface of the water? Like a fish shaped entity shadow that might come in different sizes. It would give the illusion of fish in the water. I don't know if it's possible to do, but it wouldn't require a texture or animated model or anything like that.
What kinds of new fish would people want to see in the future?
I considered Puffer Fish, Lobsters, Crabs, Frogs, Squid (Turn into Ink Sacs) some other crazy stuff.
Fugu Fish. Can be made into sushi through some method, as well as Salmon having sushi.
Also an option to give certain biomes from other mods to have certain sets of fish.

hey, is neptunes bounty a set of armor and weapons?, if you can fish a set of powerful armor and weapons up,i am insta downloadin, its just what ive been looking for to add some spice to the ocean component of my game
edit: so it is, wonderful you are a glorious human being this is exactly what ive been looking for, fishing is so bland in the base game, this will spice up the rest of my fantasy themed mods by making the ocean more rewarding
Nice. Are the tarpon and manta ray planned, or are they just not going to be added? Also, noticed the variety's gone down in the fish over the course of the last few updates. Any idea why?
