I use EntityJoinedWorldEvent, because toss only applies to some situations, but ItemExpire is used for modifying lifespan, not sure if clear-lag has anything to do with that. (unless it sets all item lifespans to the end,) But I think it just deletes them
I'm looking at the clearlagg code, and it does support exceptions. There's also reference to an api, but I can't find the actual api anywhere.
It's unremovable entities code uses unique ids in some fashion. If you can't get any api like functionality, you could detect and edit the config.yml file to include your items in it's exceptions list. However, the notation is uses is in simple language and I don't know how you'd have to format it.
I really really want this mod but im running minecraft 1.8.3 and i have the latest forge but i dont think this mod will work with those versions. plus i have a resource pack that i still want to use. I love the enemies. dragons and drakes and minotaurs and the hound is bitchin. wish i could get the mobs for my version of mine craft even if i couldnt get the whole mod.
1.8 is crap just revert your minecraft to 1.6.4 then get forge for 1.6.4, problem solved
1.8 does have some huge performance boosts over 1.7 (and even slight ones over 1.6 -- 1.7 is horrible for performance unless you just like lag). What I'm seeing with code for 1.8 is it break a lot of things and some might be very hard to fix (especially since Forge no longer seems to support full decompile for newer versions), so unless forge can fix a lot, and Lex Manos is willing to do it, 1.6 might still be the a better option for that. My modpack is still 1.6; in many ways its still the best version of the game for modding. But then, Forge no longer wants to support 1.6 problems and non-updated mods are taken as "dead" while new mods tend to start at the most current officially stable Forge version -- there can be big costs to such rebellions, especially if its not a popular, wide spread rebellion.
Simply installing Forge for 1.6 is now a challenge -- something has happened to break the install system, I suspect related to simply not supporting it. (EDIT: I mean the source / development install.)

xD last time i was on this thread was when AP went a-wall and the mod pretty much died out, now it looks like things are picking back up, so might as well resurface myself, and check out the new changes and stuff. blackjar have you been posting this whole time? you were also on this thread last time i was here xD

Also working on trying to make them proper indestructible, as in the item entities don't despawn when hitting cacti or fire, or even expire..
I remember reading something about the despawning part, it was an event hook. On entity despawn, if entityX: cancel event.
As for the rest, well, it's possible that there are other event hooks you could use, but I'm not sure.
well I made the entity item that spawns simply create a duplicate item that has its own coding
So the only way yo die and loose all your most precious items is falling into the void...
the end will be the deadliest place for high-tier gear

Hm.. didnt think of that- Ah well the end is a decent place for something like to happen.
Also the Clear Lag plugin too, that would be even more annoying now
using the despawn hook might get around the clearlag effects
What's the event called?
There only seems to be spawning events, and in entityItem's case an expire event.
The expire event only covers the lifespan variable
ItemExpireEvent
Depending on how clearlag works, you could use itemTossEvent to drop your own entityitem variant that wouldn't be detected by clearlag

I suppose some testing is in order
Well their already "immune" to expiration...

not really worth going out of the way for.

ACEBlackjar has been here the entire time, along with a few of the most loyal fans

Mostly, not 100% consistent.
