I mean, yeah. It was just a suggestion. If I had to go for something non-combat related - I'd suggest an interactive fishing system, something that's more immersive. I think some more involvement in Herblore would be nice as well.
If the renaisance stuff were recreated I think it should be an add on like before, not part of the main mod. Also, if you want I have a copy of the alpha 1.8.7 source code that still has the herbalism stuff in it laying around in one of my modding folders if you want it and don't have it.
The alpha herbalism was pretty basic, don't really need the code anyway, and the book part wasn't very well written either
There's going to be so many parts to the mod, it's probably better that some things like herbalism, and mobs and such are kept as modules, not sure though, It could all fit together if it's done right.
Making everything modular would be a great idea - allows people to pick and choose which features they want to use in their games. I think slime blocks fit into MF so we can easily make drawbridges, gates, doors, etc. without having to have a ton of massive redstone networks. I also really like slime blocks for making landing pads at the bottom of mineshafts so you don't have to climb down every time you go mining - but I suppose cloud blocks work for that (not sure if cloud blocks are MF or something from the mod pack I've been using).
Also, do we have backward compatibility yet? Not sure if I read that as confirmed ready or not. I'm still using 1.4 beta but I'll start upgrading if backwards compatibility is running.
I've gotten to deep Iron working, but I can't for anything find the recipe for the obsidian forge. A picture would be great, but an eplanation would work. I found it's "multiblock, needs to be put on an obsidian base (atleast centre of 3x3) and with obsidian on 3 of its sides", but is this just the foundation it will sit on (somewhat like furnaces)?
Dear lord, there has been much development since I last looked.
The problem with MFBridge appears to be that the ItemController can no longer get a bloomery. I assume this is because you changed the internal name from "smelter" to "bloomery" or something like that.
If you can give me links to the newest version, and to a compiled version of of MF2, if one is around, I can add them to the download page.
Are their any plans to reintroduce the grindstone for either MF version? I know the plate is rather full for MFII, but with all the updates being done to the original it would be nice to have the grindstone back
wait a minute i post you the right build formation
3x3 base bottom
in the middle the obsidian forge
and surround the forge with obsidian
What about for the actual forge? For the normal forge its 4 cobblestone bricks and 4 coal. I tried the same with obsidian and coal/inferno coal and got nothing. Thanks for those pictures btw.
Very nice - Do you think it's possible to integrate the old Renaissance expansion pack into the main mod?
EDIT - As for fresh ideas, How about Flails as a new weapon type?

Sorry for not sharing that link, totally passed my mind.
Also, i've begun work on metallurgy integration. I'll PM you about that.

Thats it.

Pretty much. The concept was a neat one, though.
Forgot to ask - You're using Eclipse, correct?
Just wanted to be on the same page for when we start doing some projects together.
Im pretty sure theres enough weapons

Yeah, I could use a water block. But that's just soooo... boring
I'm in no rush - you keep on keeping on and I'll watch and grab updates when you say its good to go.

doesn't need to have all sides covered

No, I meant you. I've sent an email.

Just a question, how/are shields being implemented in the 1.7 version? Mostly asking because 1.7 battle gear is *broken*

So much activity going on in this thread; those screenshots are looking enticing though!
In what way is it? I have it working perfectly fine on 1.7.
