Wow, updating for 1.6.4 totally slipped past my mind...
I'll probably push an update out later today.
Edit: Nevermind, going to have to wait a bit longer. ModLoader needs to update so I can ensure compatibility for both ModLoader and Forge users. Sorry!
Forge provides a better workspace setup in my opinion (and is updated more quickly) so could you not compile against that (I do for my ModLoader/ForgeModLoader mod, and you could always include a mcmod.info file)? Not trying to hurry you or anything - I couldn't care less about waiting for several days, or even weeks - but I'm sure you'd rather just get an update out rather than having to wait around not knowing when ModLoader is going to be released?
Yeah, there is actually a poll at the top of this forum about who uses modloader and who uses forge. depending on the outcome of that poll, i can infer that this may even become a forge only mod.

Current poll results say roughly 85% of people prefer FML.

You have a point. The reason I've stayed away from working directly with Forge is basically because I've been using ModLoader ever since the beginning. I do prefer compiling with ModLoader, at least currently, since it's not very stable (that way I can make sure everything works okay, don't have to do this with Forge because it never has issues). I am willing to try compiling with Forge though as long as the mod still works with ModLoader. As you've mentioned, it's not very fun waiting for ML to update...
Aw,come on!
I have theese really awesome servers that include dark caves in survival and
i cant see anything.
Their 1.6.4 servers too...
85% of the people rather prefer Forge anyways,
(poll stuff) and Modloader has been thumbed down by many people compared to forge.
Would you mind uh.... go directly into forge?
Hope you Forge users enjoy the update! Sorry it took a bit long, didn't know what to do about the whole "ModLoader not updating!" situation.
BTW, for those of you who wanted a mcmod.info file for the Forge release, I attempted it, but for the time being I don't believe it's worth it. To get it to actually work, I needed to rewrite a lot of Gammabright's code. Let's just say that mcmod.info files are meant to work with Forge mods, not ModLoader mods...
Just thought I'd let you know!
THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THE UPDATE! It works great, been waiting a decent bit of time. Now if only Ellian detector would update i'd have all my mods back from 1.5.2...... oh well. Thanks so much!
I saw kymaster referring someone to the 'old versions' section in a recent post - I am also looking for an old version (v2.0 for 1.6.2) but can't find it . Tried googling goo.gl and gammabright a few ways and a few other searches. There are no links in the o.v. section. Sorry if I missed something but can someone help please?
thanks:)

thanks kymaster - my browser has problems displaying those spoiler thingies sometimes, so I didn't get all the info. I used g. Chrome and got the links that way. thanks again, everything looks dark in the game now without this mod
Hello, I love your mod and it is part of my regular set of mods that I wait to play until it updates :3 I do have an issue though.
Since 1.6.4, GammaBright doesn't seem to work in the same way it did before. If I have it on 100% brightness (Regular brightness) and turn on GammaBright, it doesn't change. On the other hand, if I am at "Moody" brightness and turn it on, it just looks like 100% brightness. It turns out that this is caused by OptiFine. When I turn it off, GammaBright runs like normal again. Is this an oversight on your part or theirs? I think it would be safer to wait for the full version of OptiFine to come out before we assume it is a bug on your end.

Strange... If I have some free time tonight I'll look into this and tell you what I find out.
Thanks for letting me know!
How do I remove the percentage at the top of my screen? It is really bugging me and I want to get rid of it.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Roses are red. Violets are blue by the communicative property the color blue is actually violet and the color violet is blue.
But what makes violet, the color red and blue, but because violet is actually blue u need red to make blue. What makes red though, the past tense of read and the most thing u read in this equation is blue. you read blue creating violet and because violets are actually blue. This just didnt prove i blow your mind but but everything u just red (past tense) actually blue your mind

When the mod is enabled, hold shift (sneak) and toggle again. That will hide the text.
If you want it hidden by default, you can do so through the config file.

Just downloaded the latest version of Forge and latest version of OptiFine (default settings). No problems with Gammabright. Maybe it's fixed now?
Gammabright allows you to adjust your in-game brightness, the same brightness controlled by the game's brightness slider, way beyond the default limits. Minecraft's brightness slider is very restrained and can only adjust the brightness between a set range of 0 to 100%. Gammabright allows you to go way beyond (or below!), to whatever value you prefer.
Can you please make a "black level" slider?
I'm used to "brightness" actually being "black point", and "contrast" being "white level". And right now, minecraft's dark textures are way too dark.
I can set my "brightness" slider to 76%, and get a nice, smooth, even light curve from 2 to 15sun or to 14torch without any issue. (Test by making a 2x3 tunnel with light only at one end). Light level 1 is hard to make smooth, and light level 0 ...
Lets just say that on my monitor, the only blocks I can see at (0 sky/0 burn) are sand, sandstone, snow, white wool. Eveything else is black. Unless I turn my monitor gamma way down (gamma 1.8 isn't enough to see the inside of caves; going lower kills my colors/dark greys become purple).
So I actually need a real brightness -- black level -- control, not a gamma control. Do you have one of those in your bag of tricks?
I'm not looking for a full-bright mod; I'm looking for something to let my nice, black-level adjusted mac monitor look like the PC monitors every mod maker (and vanilla :-) assumes that everyone else has.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

The soon part?Anyway, I'm releasing the Forge version in a couple hours. Hold on, it'll be out in a bit!
Edit: I now see that you thought the Forge version was out already. Bad wording on my part, sorry about that!
