Cool, now I don't have to worry about it getting dark while I am recording.
Yeah.. I'm trying to get this mod to reach out to videomakers as well as those who just choose to use it as a fullbright. There's much more to this mod that people like you can really take advantage of..
Thanks a lot for the review. If you don't mind, I replaced iPodmail's spotlight in the original post with yours. Hopefully it will help you a bit more with growing your channel..

I'm probably the only one that uses this mod to make it darker. I want caves to be 100% blackness. For some reason my new IPS monitor makes everything a lot brighter.
Using arrow keys in chat affects the brightness slider
Occasionally the "Gammabright: ####%" text doesn't show up. Oh and it overlaps with the zombe text, but that isn't much of an issue.
Other than that, thanks for this great mod!
Helloooo,
In response to your first issue, I thought I had that fixed, guess not! I'll hopefully have that problem solved in the next update. For your second issue, it's strange that it doesn't show up sometimes, but without a greater explanation I can't really narrow the issue down. And for the text overlapping, you can change the position of the Gammabright text in the config file.
Yeah, the second issue is strange. I haven't been able to pin down what causes it, but once it stops showing up it won't until I restart the game (I'm not sure if re-joining fixes it). If I get any more info I'll let you know.
Well, you can disable the Gammabright text when turning the mod on by holding down shift (or sneaking) and toggling it. You may have accidentally done that at times, which would explain why it only happened sometimes and why the restart fixed it. Don't know why I didn't think of that yesterday..
Since Gammabright is dependent on ModLoader, I first need to wait for ModLoader to update to 1.4 before I can begin updating Gammabright. No, I'm not going to be using Forge. Besides just being compatible with 1.4, I'll most likely include some fixes for the problems people have brought up on the last couple pages of this thread.
One problem I found with the 1.4.2 release - while pressing "n" doesn't toggle Gammabright when typing, it still produces an audible click. Other than that it's great to see the bugs being ironed out!
Is there any way you can make this mod not dependent on ModLoader?
With the update to 1.4.4, ModLoader hasn't updated yet, so I can't even see if the 1.4.2 version of Gammabright will work on 1.4.4
Also, this mod is great and reduces my need for torches >97%. It's also great for shooting video, since you don't have to worry if things are lit up enough.
- Known Bug: Mod will not turn off and reset when exiting worlds.
Please don't fix this "bug". I love it.
When Minecraft updates but Gammabright/ModLoader hasn't, if you check your video settings, your brightness is set to 1000%, and you get the Gammabright lighting even without the mod!
So if you do get around to 'fixing' it, can you make it an option to not toggle on exit?

You don't really need Gammabright if you just want to set your brightness at a fixed amount and never change it. All you need to do is go to your .minecraft folder, find options.txt, open it, and change the value of "gamma:" to 15 (Gammabright's default) or whatever you'd like. So really, if that's what you're using Gammabright for, there's really no need for it!

Man that's really nice of you.
..and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make..
Yup, it works everywhere.
Ha, that's funny. Well, whatever works..

Enjoy the new update guys! Please report any bugs you find.
-not sure what to add in the next update... Ideas?
