The owners website sends you to AdFly to download. AdFly is a known unsafe website and adds a Trojan to the download according to my antivirus.
Maybe you should press skip after countdown and go to the real download. If you click an ad that isn't the mod author's fault. There is a simple add-on/extension called AdBlock that will resolve that problem for you; like magic those bad ads will vanish.
Hey how's it going out there in Australia? I don't know if anybody else out there has gotten the NEW 1.8 update, but I just got done testing it and it's great!
I did want to mention something I found out while testing in a super-flat world. When the outdoor faucet is placed East/West, water forms in front of it as it should. But when the faucet is placed North/South, the water block forms behind it, replacing any block you may have placed there. This is probably just a negative number where a positive one should be, and is not really a nuisance when you know to be careful.
As for the rest, It's great to see the mod fleshing out. There's so much this brings to the game that, as you say, has been missing for YEARS now. Thank you for this much needed contribution.
Oh one slight note. If you want to get the drapes and blinds working, you might want to check out the "Render Core Mod". It puts back the rendering hooks that they removed in the forge. I don't know that this will help or hinder, but here's to hoping. The coder describes the mod in better detail.
It's quite cold here in Australia at the moment! Anyway, thank you for the bug report on the faucet, I will get that fixed before the next build. For the curtain problem, I can use the JSON system. I actually haven't work on the curtains yet, just a basic port but will on the function soon.

The thing is, AdBlock removes support for every modder in the community. I've spent years working on and maintaining this mod, and if someone can't sit through a 5 second ad and simply just click the skip button, they have no appreciation. The fact your against mod reposts too, but suggesting to block support to modders even though it's the official download is contradicting.
I'm surprised you don't use patreon MrCrayfish, I personally don't like adfly and other advertisement websites of a similar nature because 99% of the time the ads they are promoting are very harmful to your computer. I once got a trojan after installing a mod because the person used one of these advertisement links. If you want support or feel that your followers should show support then use patreon instead of shady download links.

Yes, I've highly considered switching to Patreon. Maybe we'll see something in the future

*Ahem* The textures are smeared and squashed in a visibly ugly way. I'm telling you this in hopes that you will make the textures a bit more pleasant to look at.
what do you mean by sneared and squashed? i don't see anything wrong with textures.
The textures for the couch and some of the other textures are smeared and squashed versions of vanilla textures. Like, the textures were put into an image editor and resized.

This mod takes the textures from your resourcepack so that you don'y need custom textures for it to look right. I have never noticed any smearing with or without a custom one.

Just look at the couch. I am not the first one to point out the smearing textures. Maybe the textures could be handled a bit better, like fences (which don't smear).
the things that don't work for me on the mod are the kitchen counters, the kitchen sink counter, and the couches. they wont place whenever I try and place it the game says "this furniture has not been added yet".

That means you are using the "1.8 DEVELOPMENT Version". It's still in DEVELOPMENT.

We can appreciate your mod without wanting to download extra new surprises to our computers, y'know? Some Trojans exploit 0-day bugs in Flash or JavaScript to install themselves without anyone clicking on links, so the only safe way is to completely block script execution and ad display from suspect sites. AdFly and AdFocus are KNOWN to serve up malware now and then, so they are suspect sites. Blocking everything also keeps AdFly from working at all, half the time (and for some mods, like yours, all the time, I don't know why).
Why not host on CurseForge? So far, they seem to be pretty good about not serving up things that turn your computer into a botnet zombie.
the only thing that doesn't work for me on the mod in the game is the kitchen counter, the kitchen counter sink, the couch , and the bender. the kitchen counters and couch say " this furniture has not been added yet " whenever I try and place them down, and the blender doesn't blend the juice together like it is supposed to.

What part of "In Development" is escaping you? That means this is not a complete build yet and some things just aren't working yet.
Sorry if I'm coming across as hostile, but it really helps to read.

Aren't there any safer alternatives? I feel you lashed out a bit though. He was just trying to help somebody out by preventing them from plaguing their computer with viruses. While your at it tweak the smeared textures.

I haven't worked on the functionality of the curtains and blinds in the 1.8 port yet, please be patient.

i have a little question: the furniture mod installer app only shows one version, but the picture on this page shows two:
They're just trying to be helpful.
XD Well put
