Try the AstroTibs port. It works "okay" except for a few types of very large trees that it just refuses to chop down completely, like Thaumcraft Greatwoods.
There are some bspkrs' mods, which are already ported to 1.8.9 (up to 1.12.2 - ArmorStatusHUD, StatusEffectHUD and TreeCapitator, see [Ported bspkrs' mods]). I am still waiting for the Forge 1.13.x to port them to 1.13.x.

Did ya notice my crash report? It's kinda hard to reproduce, and it may have gone away completely. Idk.

Any chance the Status HUD mod could have a setting to disable the top right icon box vanilla hud? I don't need both to show up and prefer this mod's to vanilla, but can't find any way of disabling the vanilla one aside from adding another mod.

I use 1.8.9 but your mods require 1.8, are there any ETAs as to when future 1.8.x versions of the mod are release/any alternatives?

did you publish your updates source code on github? tried finding through the fork tree, but your github account must be different

are the 3 BSPKRS mods just made for 1.8 or i can use it 1.8.9?
